 Preparation of seam wise and assembly wise checklist for better tracking job progress.
 Raw Material Inspection:
 Inspection of Raw material at i.e. plates, pipes, forgings, fittings, fasteners gaskets etc. with respect
to P.O, approved Drawings, Code & standards at shop.
 Receive of test certificates as per Code, ARM & approves drawing and preparing MCR (Material
Clearance Records).
 In process inspection:
 Study and interpretation of drawings and symbols.
 WEP set up / fit up and weld visual examination.
 Dimensions accuracy as per tolerance sheet & code requirement.
 Inspected all Machining components as per Approved drawing, standards and tolerances.
 Precision machining inspection of hydro plant equipment’s, Steel plant equipment’s, EOT cranes
equipment’s and Refinery machining equipment’s.
 Identifying defects and acceptability’s w.r.t. specification and end use.
 Raising Non Conformity Report and resolving the same.
 Co-ordination with Customer & Third Party Inspection agencies.
 Inspection at Vendor’s Premises:
 Inspection of Machined components such as Nonstandard Flanges, Tube sheets, Coupling, frames,
housing, Brake rings for Steel plant equipment’s etc. by using Vernier caliper, Micrometer, Bore
gauges etc.
 Visual & Dimensional inspection of D ’end (Hemispherical, Ellipsoidal, Tori spherical etc.) & Tori cones
in single piece as well as in crown – petals construction.
 Surface finish verified by using of surface finish comparator/Ra value machine.
 Profile of components verified on CMM machine for geometrical features
 Non Destructive testing:
 Radiographs films review.

 DPT witness of welds.
 MPT witness of welds by Wet and Dry methods.
 Ultrasonic thickness measurement of base metal & welds.
 Chemical analysis on in-situ condition by portable Alloy analyzer.
 Hardness testing of base metal and welds (in-situ by Portable Hardness tester machine).
 Heat Treatment:
 Confirming completion of all activities before releasing jobs for Heat treatment.
 Review & Approval of HTR (Heat treatment Request) with respects to approved Drawing &
code/standards.
 Verifying calibration of thermocouples & recorders.
 Verifying support arrangement & thermocouple location as per approves HTR before releasing jobs
for Heat treatment.
 Review of Heat treatment chart with respects to approved HTR & code/standards.
 Visual & aesthetic inspection of job after completion of Heat treatment.
 Leak & Pressure test of vessel:
 Pneumatic test with low pressure.
 Hydrostatic test
 Final Inspection
 Inspected Visual and dimension.
 After verifying all inspected documents release for Final Painting of job
 Surface Preparation & Painting Inspection.
 Wet & Dry film thickness measurement.
 Holiday Test, Adhesion Test carried out as per requirements.
