Responsibilities
Roles in Piping and welding Inspection.
 Review and approval of WPS according to project requirements.
 Review and approval of QC documents like QCP, ITP, QCS, Method statements etc.
 Witness and certification of PQRand Welder/welding operator qualification test certification.
 Provide quality assurance and quality monitoring for capital projects to ensure that
contractor's quality personnel and processes are effective.
 Provide technical support to Project Management in resolving problems concerning
inspection methods and procedures of completing works within the scope and intent of
applicable codes and standards.
 Focus Assessment of contractor.
 Review and approval of QCinspectors for contractor and subcontractor according to Schedule
'Q' (contract document) requirements.
 Review, approval and issue of job clearance card for welders according to their qualification
done by approved third party company.
 Delegated jobs from the field supervisors to prepare weekly highlight, weekly project quality
status (PQS), calculate project quality index (PQI) etc.
 Review, evaluate and monitor the weekly report from different contractors and
subcontractors.
 Receiving inspection of project material, MTC review as per the specification requirements.
 Witnessing and review of PT, MPI, UT, PWHT and Hardness Testing.
 Routine surveillance, inspection/monitoring to check for compliance to project
specifications/international codes and standards.
 Monitoring/Reviewing of welder performance and ensure the repair rate of welders/welding
operators are within the project requirements. .
 Evaluation of work performance rating by the contractor’s performance and maintaining
updated records.
 Witnessing HOT-TAP Activities.
 Inspection of Glass-fiber-reinforced thermosetting resin pipe (or) Fiber Glass piping, witness
for hydro test.
 Review and punch listing of Pressure test package and witnessing the Pressure Test
 Making and Closing out Exceptional Items List and Participating in MCC.
 Finalize / Issue NCR’s on the contractor/sub-contractor fabrication activities whenever the
deviation notified during surveillance visit and close out the same when the appropriate
corrective action taken.
Roles in Equipment Inspection
 Review specifications, drawings, referenced standard codes, procedures and other related
documents and to assure their proper implementation during the installation stage.
 Identify the deficiency to promote corrective action and unity their implementation.
 Strictly enforce company rules and safety regulation performs other duties related to my work.
 Attain weekly progress report will be discussing the situation at work site.
 To ensure that the equipment installed are aligned and meet the required tolerances.
 To perform quality inspection on construction activities in order to ensure compliance in the
client quality standard, API standard, international code and Saudi Aramco Standards.

 Counter check calibrated tools use for inspection.
 Implement the equipment protection and preservation program in accordance with the
manufacturer’s recommendation to ensure all equipment at work site are in good condition
until turnover to the Client.
 Verify the handover of foundation, bolt setting, location and condition of foundation prior to
equipment installation.
 Inspection of dimensional, attachment orientation, bolt holes location of fabricated structural
steel.
 Inspection of equipment setting (location, elevation, levelness and plumpness) and
preliminary shaft alignment prior to grouting.
 Conduct Visual and Dimensional Inspection of Foundation prior to Equipment and
Machineries Installation, as per IFC Drawing and Project Specifications.
 Inspection of equipment foundation and post-installed anchor bolt for proper checking of
location and alignment.
 Conduct inspection on alignment, levelness and elevation check of static and rotating
equipment.
Roles in Tank Inspection
 Ensure that the drawings are in current revision and approved for fabrication and construction.
 Foundation level check, tank bottom plates laying inspections, material traceability and
material receiving inspections.
 Check the layout prior to cutting w/ reference to the approved drawing and see to it that the
heat number and shop mark are reflected on pieces to be out.
 Check fit up of shell plates horizontal and vertical joints, stair and structure related to tank
before welding and that only qualified welders are allowed to perform in accordance of
approved welding procedure specification.
 Inspection of peaking and banding for vertical and horizontal joints, fit up, alignment, level
and nozzles orientation inspections.
 Perform visual inspection on completed weld and witnessing the Vacuum Box Testing of
Roof and Bottom plates, Oil Penetrant Test, Pneumatic Test of nozzle pads.
 Punch listing, pre-commissioning inspection, hydro test and NDT inspection according to
Code API 650 and ASME SEC V.
 Undertake witness, surveillance Actual inspection activities of Mechanical and structural
construction at site as required by the inspection and to verify conformity and full compliance
with engineering.
 Verify the plumpness and levelness by using instrumental like Dumpy level and Theodolite.
Roles in Coating Inspection
 Review the contractor's Inspection & Test Plans, project method of statement and procedure.
 Monitoring and Inspection surface preparation Blasting and Painting to ensure and check
abrasive, surface profile, coating, environmental and Perform test such as Holiday test,
Adhesion test (after the coating process will quantify the strength of the bond between substrate
& coating).
 Carrying out Painting Inspection as per project specification, TDS, MSDS & ITP .In Process
Monitoring (surface Preparation & Paint application, mixing).
Non-Business Use
 Review materials test reports (paint and abrasive) etc.
 Inspect all blasting works prior to painting including quality of blasted surfaces, surface
profile/contamination either by salt or abrasive, grit type used, equipment, ambient condition
and adherence to specification and standards, etc.
 Ensure all specified standards are available and their requirements observed
 Ensure proper maintenance, calibration and operation of all testing equipment.
 Witness all testing such as Abrasive Chloride, Salt Testing, DFT Checking, and Holiday Spark
Test, Moisture content test for concrete surface and Pull of Adhesion Test.
 Ensure materials delivered are as approved and are properly stored.
 Inspection of Internal and External F.B.E Coatings for Steel Pipelines and Piping at shop and
field
 Inspection of all Field joint Coating activities including surface preparation Preheating & post
heating.
 Insulation: Inspection of the installation of all insulation materials to the
equipment’s, piping& Instrumentation tubes both in hot and cold starting from surface
preparation.

Non-Business Use  Counter check calibrated tools use for inspection.  Implement the equipment protection and preservation program in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendation to ensure all equipment at work site are in good condition until turnover to the Client.  Verify the handover of foundation, bolt setting, location and condition of foundation prior to equipment installation.  Inspection of dimensional, attachment orientation, bolt holes location of fabricated structural steel.  Inspection of equipment setting (location, elevation, levelness and plumpness) and preliminary shaft alignment prior to grouting.  Conduct Visual and Dimensional Inspection of Foundation prior to Equipment and Machineries Installation, as per IFC Drawing and Project Specifications.  Inspection of equipment foundation and post-installed anchor bolt for proper checking of location and alignment.  Conduct inspection on alignment, levelness and elevation check of static and rotating equipment. Roles in Tank Inspection  Ensure that the drawings are in current revision and approved for fabrication and construction.  Foundation level check, tank bottom plates laying inspections, material traceability and material receiving inspections.  Check the layout prior to cutting w/ reference to the approved drawing and see to it that the heat number and shop mark are reflected on pieces to be out.  Check fit up of shell plates horizontal and vertical joints, stair and structure related to tank before welding and that only qualified welders are allowed to perform in accordance of approved welding procedure specification.  Inspection of peaking and banding for vertical and horizontal joints, fit up, alignment, level and nozzles orientation inspections.  Perform visual inspection on completed weld and witnessing the Vacuum Box Testing of Roof and Bottom plates, Oil Penetrant Test, Pneumatic Test of nozzle pads.  Punch listing, pre-commissioning inspection, hydro test and NDT inspection according to Code API 650 and ASME SEC V.  Undertake witness, surveillance Actual inspection activities of Mechanical and structural construction at site as required by the inspection and to verify conformity and full compliance with engineering.  Verify the plumpness and levelness by using instrumental like Dumpy level and Theodolite. Roles in Coating Inspection  Review the contractor's Inspection & Test Plans, project method of statement and procedure.  Monitoring and Inspection surface preparation Blasting and Painting to ensure and check abrasive, surface profile, coating, environmental and Perform test such as Holiday test, Adhesion test (after the coating process will quantify the strength of the bond between substrate & coating).  Carrying out Painting Inspection as per project specification, TDS, MSDS & ITP .In Process Monitoring (surface Preparation & Paint application, mixing).
