As educational psychologist, he conducts multi-disciplinary research on work-based and collaborative learning environments and focuses on the role of social interaction in learning, which is published in leading academic journals and books. His primary research interests are focussed on Learning Analytics, Professional Development, and the role of motivation in learning. Furthermore, Bart is interested in broader internationalisation aspects of higher education. He has successfully led a range of institutional/national/European projects, and has received a range of awards for his educational innovation projects. CHALLENGES OF DISTANCE, BLENDED, AND ONLINE LEARNING: A LITERATUREBASED APPROACHIJITE

The objectives of the study were to show the basic differences between Distance, Blended and Online
learning, and establish their common challenges from literature. Approximately 35 categories/sets of
research results or findings from more than 65 publications were reviewed and used for this work. Articles
were obtained from sources such as Google Scholar, ResearchGate, Academia.edu, Google Search Engine,
and Elsevier. The key themes used for the search are Distance education, Distance learning, Online
learning, Blended learning, Differences between face-to-face and online learning, and the use of the
internet for learning. The differences between Distance, Blended, and Online Learning (DBOL) modes
were summarized, and 11 challenges of DBOL were realized. These 11 challenges were summarized into
six themes namely, lack of infrastructure, low or no IT skills, self-disciplinary problems, content issues,
policy issues, and social issues. It was strongly advised that, for effective DBOL implementation and
operation, there must be in place a solid DBOL policy, adequate infrastructure, and constant training of
stakeholders on the use of learning management systems and the development of related IT skills in
general.

The presenter of this session will discuss differences in the level of hemodynamic response (used as a proxy for âcognitive demandâ) as it relates to three different pedagogical approaches of teaching the processes of DNA extraction in life science.
The first approach was using a video lecture approach. The second approach used an immersive virtual reality environment. The third approach was the use of a âhands-onâ laboratory in which the students engaged in a wet laboratory extraction.
Functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRs) technology was used in this study to examine hemodynamic localization associated with each condition.
Results suggest that the group using the virtual reality laboratory had a significantly higher score on the posttest compared to the laboratory group and the virtual laboratory group did not statistically significantly differ from the real-life laboratory group related to fNIR. More importantly, measures of virtual environment hemodynamic responses did not differ from those of the âreal-lifeâ laboratory in either location or intensity.
These results suggest that realistic virtual reality based environments and âreal-lifeâ laboratory activities activate and produce similar amounts of processing and learning.

The purpose of this study is to find out college students perception towards the learning platforms and their priorities with regard to online learning as well as offline learning. Rapid developments in education technology have provided many new options of learning to students and thus made this research important to determine their preferences for the same. Moreover due to covid-19, the students have fresh experience of online learning which would make the comparison more relevant. The study makes comparison of online education and traditional way of education from the point of view of Post - Graduate students from M.COM, MBA, MA (economics), M.SC, and M.TECH respectively. To know their perception and preference, online questionnaire was constructed via Google form and data was collected from 100 respondents. 10 variables based on 5 point likert scale have been used to analyze the perception. These variables include Convenience, Flexibility, Teacher â student interaction, accessibility in terms of time and cost, Freedom in learning, Doubt clarity, Learning experience, Content analysis, Adaptability and performance evaluation. This preliminary analysis of students' perception will determine whether there are statistically significant differences between online learning and offline learning, and preference for online learning technology between gender groups and between post graduate students from different educational qualifications and family income, along with investigating the reasons for their preference.
An Analysis on the Attitudes of Academic Staff towards Distance Educationinventionjournals

In this study, the attitudes of the academic staff working in NamÄąkKemal University (NKU) towards distance education were examined according to different variables. Within this scope, the distance education attitude scale developed by AÄÄąr et al. was used. 283 out of 955 academic staff working in NKU participated in this research in 2015. The data obtained from the research were analyzed by using SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) for Windows 22.0 program. In the evaluation of the data; numbers, percentages, mean and standard deviation were used as the descriptive statistical methods. T-test was used in the comparison of the quantitative continuous data between two independent groups, while One-Way ANOVA was used in the comparison of the quantitative continuous data between more than two independent groups. In order to determine the differences after the ANOVA, Scheffeâs test was used as the complementary post-hoc analysis. The obtained findings were evaluated at the confidence interval of 95% and at the significance level of 5%. It was determined in the study that the attitude level of the participants as to âthe positive aspects of distance educationâ proved to be moderate (2,851 Âą 0,716); whereas the attitude level as to âthe negative aspects of distance educationâ proved to be weak (2,430 Âą 0,757); and the attitude level as to âthe advantages of distance educationâ proved to be high (3,618 Âą 0,713).While age and gender were seen to have not affected the attitudes towards distance education, the academic title was seen to have affected these attitudes. This study was conducted to determine the effect of Concept mapping and competitive instructional strategy on Basic Science students on academic performance in Ardo Kola Local Government Area of Taraba Statte. Three research questions and hypotheses were formulated and tested at 0.05 level of significance. The quasi experimental research was adopted. The population of the study was 2,228 Upper Basic level students of public schools. The sample was 60 students, consists of male 32 female 28 selected through a random sampling technique to form two intact classes. Thermal Energy Performance Test TEPT was used for the collection of data. Mean and standard deviation were used to answer the three research questions, while the three hypotheses were tested with t test statistic tool. The research revealed that concept mapping has a substantial effect on studentsâ academic performance in Thermal Energy while gender have no substantial effect on studentsâ academic performance. Based on the findings of this study, it is recommended that the use of concept mapping teaching strategy should be encourage at upper basic, hence it enhanced better performance. Concept mapping teaching strategy is gender friendly, it should be encouraged among Males and Females students at upper basic level. Present scenario, E-learning resources gain access to classrooms around the world at an extremely rapid pace. In the wake of this influx, educators face growing challenges as they teach a much âwiredâ and more and more âwirelessâ generation of students using technology that is evolving every day. This paper deals with the electronic resources (E-Resources) and their different types. The information seeking behavior of students, researchers and faculty in the electronic milieu are thrashing out in detail, looks at the E- resources created by some organizations are highlighted for access. The main objective of the present Study is to find out the study on E-learning Resources Access and Academic Performance among Under Graduate Students. Normative Survey method was adopted to collect the relevant data for the present study. The tool E-learning Resources Scale (ELRAS) developed and standardized by S. Raja kumar and P. Pachaiyappan, was used to collect data for the present study. The Researcher randomly selected 330 Under Graduate Students studying in Government, Government Aided and Private Colleges in and around Vellore and Thiruvallur District of Tamilnadu. The result existing study was done in order to find the E-Learning Resources Access and Academic Performance of under Graduate Students on the whole it perceived the data explores several factors which are significant in parenteral annual income of E-learning Resources Access and the study Academic performance is significant in Stream and E-device using hours of undergraduate students. The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
⢠The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
⢠The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students.
