This document provides an overview of the culture at a medical facility called "The Clinic For Men" that helps men suffering from erectile dysfunction. Some key points:
- The clinic prides itself on helping men get erections to improve their sex lives. However, it is a serious medical facility, not related to the porn industry.
- The culture is defined by five core values: reliability, accuracy, teamwork, enthusiasm, and accountability. These values govern all decisions from hiring to promotions.
- Employees must be passionate about helping patients reconnect through improved sex lives. The work involves dealing with patients' erectile issues on a daily basis.
- The culture seeks people who are self-motivated

Health & Wellness Themes of the Month are focused on raising awareness about important health topics. The different dimensions of health play a key role in how we thrive and succeed not only in our personal lives, but within our job and career. These themes help create a healthy balance between those dimensions and foster healthy conversation as an organization about how we can improve our quality of life from one day to the next. When we are aware of these dimensions, we can assist in raising awareness to those we serve in helping them to improve their own quality of life. A few topics we cover include: Connecting with nature, STEPtember, diabetes, hydration, de-cluttering and organizing your life, and of course having fun, just to name a few.

The prostate is an exocrine gland of the male mammalian reproductive system
It is a walnut-sized gland that forms part of the male reproductive system and is located in front of the rectum and just below the urinary bladder
Function is to store and secrete a clear, slightly alkaline fluid that constitutes 10-30% of the volume of the seminal fluid that along with the spermatozoa, constitutes semen
A healthy human prostate measures (4cm-vertical, by 3cm-horizontal, 2cm ant-post ).
It surrounds the urethra just below the urinary bladder. It has anterior, median, posterior and two lateral lobes
It’s work is regulated by androgens which are responsible for male sex characteristics
Generalised disease of the prostate due to hormonal derangement which leads to non malignant enlargement of the gland (increase in the number of epithelial cells and stromal tissue)to cause compression of the urethra leading to symptoms (LUTS

New Directions in Targeted Therapeutic Approaches for Older Adults With Mantl...i3 Health
i3 Health is pleased to make the speaker slides from this activity available for use as a non-accredited self-study or teaching resource.
This slide deck presented by Dr. Kami Maddocks, Professor-Clinical in the Division of Hematology and
Associate Division Director for Ambulatory Operations
The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center, will provide insight into new directions in targeted therapeutic approaches for older adults with mantle cell lymphoma.
STATEMENT OF NEED
Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is a rare, aggressive B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) accounting for 5% to 7% of all lymphomas. Its prognosis ranges from indolent disease that does not require treatment for years to very aggressive disease, which is associated with poor survival (Silkenstedt et al, 2021). Typically, MCL is diagnosed at advanced stage and in older patients who cannot tolerate intensive therapy (NCCN, 2022). Although recent advances have slightly increased remission rates, recurrence and relapse remain very common, leading to a median overall survival between 3 and 6 years (LLS, 2021). Though there are several effective options, progress is still needed towards establishing an accepted frontline approach for MCL (Castellino et al, 2022). Treatment selection and management of MCL are complicated by the heterogeneity of prognosis, advanced age and comorbidities of patients, and lack of an established standard approach for treatment, making it vital that clinicians be familiar with the latest research and advances in this area. In this activity chaired by Michael Wang, MD, Professor in the Department of Lymphoma & Myeloma at MD Anderson Cancer Center, expert faculty will discuss prognostic factors informing treatment, the promising results of recent trials in new therapeutic approaches, and the implications of treatment resistance in therapeutic selection for MCL.
Target Audience
Hematology/oncology fellows, attending faculty, and other health care professionals involved in the treatment of patients with mantle cell lymphoma (MCL).
Learning Objectives
1.) Identify clinical and biological prognostic factors that can guide treatment decision making for older adults with MCL
2.) Evaluate emerging data on targeted therapeutic approaches for treatment-naive and relapsed/refractory MCL and their applicability to older adults
3.) Assess mechanisms of resistance to targeted therapies for MCL and their implications for treatment selection
Title: Sense of Smell
Presenter: Dr. Faiza, Assistant Professor of Physiology
Qualifications:
MBBS (Best Graduate, AIMC Lahore)
FCPS Physiology
ICMT, CHPE, DHPE (STMU)
MPH (GC University, Faisalabad)
MBA (Virtual University of Pakistan)
Learning Objectives:
Describe the primary categories of smells and the concept of odor blindness.
Explain the structure and location of the olfactory membrane and mucosa, including the types and roles of cells involved in olfaction.
Describe the pathway and mechanisms of olfactory signal transmission from the olfactory receptors to the brain.
Illustrate the biochemical cascade triggered by odorant binding to olfactory receptors, including the role of G-proteins and second messengers in generating an action potential.
Identify different types of olfactory disorders such as anosmia, hyposmia, hyperosmia, and dysosmia, including their potential causes.
Key Topics:
Olfactory Genes:
3% of the human genome accounts for olfactory genes.
400 genes for odorant receptors.
Olfactory Membrane:
Located in the superior part of the nasal cavity.
Medially: Folds downward along the superior septum.
Laterally: Folds over the superior turbinate and upper surface of the middle turbinate.
Total surface area: 5-10 square centimeters.
Olfactory Mucosa:
Olfactory Cells: Bipolar nerve cells derived from the CNS (100 million), with 4-25 olfactory cilia per cell.
Sustentacular Cells: Produce mucus and maintain ionic and molecular environment.
Basal Cells: Replace worn-out olfactory cells with an average lifespan of 1-2 months.
Bowman’s Gland: Secretes mucus.
Stimulation of Olfactory Cells:
Odorant dissolves in mucus and attaches to receptors on olfactory cilia.
Involves a cascade effect through G-proteins and second messengers, leading to depolarization and action potential generation in the olfactory nerve.
Quality of a Good Odorant:
Small (3-20 Carbon atoms), volatile, water-soluble, and lipid-soluble.
Facilitated by odorant-binding proteins in mucus.
Membrane Potential and Action Potential:
Resting membrane potential: -55mV.
Action potential frequency in the olfactory nerve increases with odorant strength.
Adaptation Towards the Sense of Smell:
Rapid adaptation within the first second, with further slow adaptation.
Psychological adaptation greater than receptor adaptation, involving feedback inhibition from the central nervous system.
Primary Sensations of Smell:
Camphoraceous, Musky, Floral, Pepperminty, Ethereal, Pungent, Putrid.
Odor Detection Threshold:
Examples: Hydrogen sulfide (0.0005 ppm), Methyl-mercaptan (0.002 ppm).
Some toxic substances are odorless at lethal concentrations.
Characteristics of Smell:
Odor blindness for single substances due to lack of appropriate receptor protein.
Behavioral and emotional influences of smell.
Transmission of Olfactory Signals:
From olfactory cells to glomeruli in the olfactory bulb, involving lateral inhibition.
Primitive, less old, and new olfactory systems with different path

Flu Vaccine Alert in Bangalore Karnatakaaddon Scans
As flu season approaches, health officials in Bangalore, Karnataka, are urging residents to get their flu vaccinations. The seasonal flu, while common, can lead to severe health complications, particularly for vulnerable populations such as young children, the elderly, and those with underlying health conditions.
Dr. Vidisha Kumari, a leading epidemiologist in Bangalore, emphasizes the importance of getting vaccinated. "The flu vaccine is our best defense against the influenza virus. It not only protects individuals but also helps prevent the spread of the virus in our communities," he says.
This year, the flu season is expected to coincide with a potential increase in other respiratory illnesses. The Karnataka Health Department has launched an awareness campaign highlighting the significance of flu vaccinations. They have set up multiple vaccination centers across Bangalore, making it convenient for residents to receive their shots.
To encourage widespread vaccination, the government is also collaborating with local schools, workplaces, and community centers to facilitate vaccination drives. Special attention is being given to ensuring that the vaccine is accessible to all, including marginalized communities who may have limited access to healthcare.
Residents are reminded that the flu vaccine is safe and effective. Common side effects are mild and may include soreness at the injection site, mild fever, or muscle aches. These side effects are generally short-lived and far less severe than the flu itself.
Healthcare providers are also stressing the importance of continuing COVID-19 precautions. Wearing masks, practicing good hand hygiene, and maintaining social distancing are still crucial, especially in crowded places.
Protect yourself and your loved ones by getting vaccinated. Together, we can help keep Bangalore healthy and safe this flu season. For more information on vaccination centers and schedules, residents can visit the Karnataka Health Department’s official website or follow their social media pages.
Stay informed, stay safe, and get your flu shot today!

1. Reference Guide On Our
Culture
These slides are meant for reading, rather than presenting.
2. What we do…
We are in the erection business…We give men erections.
And we are damn proud of it. Our day is exciting knowing men around
the world are getting great erections for great sex because of our work.
Might as well tell you right now. You are going to work around
erections in a medical facility all day.
Yup, you are gonna work around a bunch of dicks all day long.
But don’t worry if you are a female, you won’t see the erections.
3. Are you…
Passionate about great sex?
Do you get excited about a great erection and joy that both parties
can/will experience from that erection?
If so, then you might be a great fit (notice I didn’t say good). And we
are only looking for great fits to our team.
4. Let me be clear..
We are a medical facility. Staffed by licensed medical professionals. We
help men who suffer from erectile dysfunction get erections again.
We are not in the porn industry.
We help couples reconnect through great sex. These couples haven’t
been able to have great sex for years because he can’t get an erection
anymore.
We fix that… without using the common pharmaceuticals.
5. Our culture is everything.
In order to accomplish this consistently for our patients, we need very
special people in our clinics.
People who have a passion for great sex. Who are willing to live out our
values, not only in the clinic, but in their lives as well.
Our culture is EVERYTHING. It governs everything we do.
6. Five Aspects Of Our Culture, Known As Our
Values
• Reliability
• Accuracy
• Teamwork
• Enthusiasm
• Accountability
7. These are more than just words on the wall. These values govern every
decision we make in our clinics. From who we hire, fire, train & retain.
To who gets a promotion, a raise, more responsibility.
And more importantly how we interact with our patients, provide
treatment and communicate.
Just like the Constitution of the United States Of America. These words
and what they mean govern every decision we make, every day.
8. In the following slides, you will read how we define these values.
First, in the actual definition of the word according to Webster’s.
Second, how this looks day to day in the clinics.
Sometimes, you’ll even read what this NOT!
9. The Definition of Reliability
• According to Webster’s reliability is defined as…
• The ability to be relied on or depended on as for accuracy, honesty or
achievement.
• Are you reliable? Honest? Do you like achievement?
10. How does this look day to day?
You can be relied upon to be early, stay late and help out others.
You let go of your right to be right.
You follow the systems and procedures.
Our patients know our team is going to be there for them.
You come ready to work, not matter what is going on in life.
11. What This Is Not
• Blaming others for your situation or circumstances.
• Doing poorly at work because you are tired, angry, sad or
disappointed.
12. The rare reliable person
• Self motivating
• Self aware
• Self disciplined
• Self improving
• Acts like a leader
• Doesn’t wait to be told what to do
• Never feels like ‘that’s not my job’
• Picks up trash lying on the floor
13. The Definition of Accuracy
• According to Webster’s
• The condition or quality of being true, correct, or exact; freedom from error
or defect.
14. How does this look day to day?
We are a medical facility, which means we are bound by HIPPA.
All of our files have to properly and accurately kept to provide the best
possible patient care in the world.
The patients will hear the same thing from every staff member,
because they are trained and are accurate.
Staff isn’t making things up, but taking the time to understand the
situation and solve the problem.
15. The Definition Of Teamwork
• According to Webster’s
• The process of working collaboratively with a group of people in order to
achieve a goal.
16. More on Teamwork…
We are a team, not a family. In a family, you have to put up with jerks,
or underperformers because, well, they are family. Think drunk Uncle
Joe. You can put up with him twice a year if needed, but you wouldn’t
want to work with him.
In a team, everyone has a job, they strive to execute it better every
single time, to make the team shine. Not for personal glory.
We are like a pro sports team. Always training, education and looking
for the right person for the right job, to do it better.
17. Brilliant Jerks
• Some companies tolerate them
• For us the cost on teamwork is just too high
• Diverse styles are fine as long as they embody our values.
18. The Keeper Test We Use
Which of my people
If they told me
They were leaving in two months for
similar job at a peer company
Would I fight hard to keep at The Clinic For Men
19. How does this look day to day?
This is fairly straight forward…
A great team mate will help you get your work done because it helps
the mission of the clinic.
You, on the other hand, welcome the help without being offended. You
realize they are being a great team mate, not trying to make you look
or feel bad.
20. The Definition of Enthusiasm
• Definition
• Intense and eager enjoyment, interest or approval.
21. How does this look day to day?
Simple.. You are enthusiastic about your job, what we do and the
results we get for our patients.
You are dressed, pressed and ready go BEFORE your shift begins. You
don’t walk in with coffee in hand, eating breakfast. You can’t wait to
punch in and get after it.
You love great sex, you love our patients get to have great sex and you
understand this is difficult for lots of our patients.
22. You see..
Joy in all things.. Even the crappy stuff that happens in life.
You see the opportunity in all things.. Even the crappy things in life.
You know tomorrow has it’s own set of issues, so you just enjoy today.
You love people, you love to help people have great sex.
23. The Definition Of Accountability
• Definition
• An obligation or willingness to accept responsibility or account for one’s
actions.
24. How does this look day to day?
You and you alone are accountable for your actions, reactions and
emotions.
If you mess up, you admit it, without laying blame at others.
If a piece or equipment isn’t working or we are out of stock of
something, you work to fix it immediately.
You don’t say ’it’s not my job’.
25. The Rare Accountable People…
• Don’t blame the government, society or their parents for how their
life is or isn’t.
• If things aren’t the way they want them to be, they work to be part of
the solution, not the problem.
• Realize there is someone out there with the answer or you can
Google the solution.
• Look at ways to help the team perform better, with humility, grace
and passion.
26. At The Clinic For Men
We don’t care about your race, religion, sexual orientation, who you
voted for, where you were born, who your parents are or where you
have come from in life.
We want people who use their life situations as a spring board for
greater things. Not as anchors in their life or excuses as to why they are
the way they are.
27. We care about…
Your heart.
Are you hungry for more in life?
Are you smart and willing to learn?
Are you humble, and realize you never have all the answers?
Then you might be just what we are looking for at The Clinic For Men.
