STRESSORS…
• work and workload
• the work pattern and the work environment
• role ambiguity
• Work- life balance issues
• Family matters
• poor relationship with co-workers
It is very common for those with caring
responsibilities to neglect their own needs
while they care others.
If not responded, this could result to
mental and physical health problems
A reality that one has to overcome.
Studies show that carers need to re-discover own
personal difficulties, reflect upon stress management
and relaxation strategies and become more effective in
handling everyday pressures in a sustainable way.
In order to maintain the EQUILIBRIUM required thus
help them achieve OPTIMUM level of functioning

Support is a positive
factor in preventing
mental health
problems and
promoting recovery.
It’s important to talk about mental health and get help early if
things don’t feel right, just like we would for our physical
health.
Remember……
• It's how we think about events that determine our
feelings.
• "There (is) nothing either good or bad but thinking
makes it so.“ William Shakespeare
• Simply recognizing that thinking influences emotions
is a very important step on the road leading to a
happier and healthier life.
• Negative thoughts can be challenged and changed.
This, in turn, leads to more positive feelings and
emotions.
• Feelings and emotions are experienced daily and
change regularly in response to life events.
• Recognizing and expressing feelings appropriately
is an essential part of managing mental and
emotional well-being
How would you
define wellbeing?
There are a whole range of ways that we can
improve our wellbeing and resilience.
Improving wellbeing
Connect…
With the people around you. With
family, friends, colleagues and
neighbors. At home, work, school
or in your local community. Think
of these as the cornerstones of
your life and invest time in
developing them. Building these
connections will support and enrich
you every day.
Be active…
Go for a walk or run. Step outside.
Cycle. Play a game. Garden.
Dance. Exercising makes you feel
good. Most importantly, discover
a physical activity you enjoy and
that suits your level of mobility
and fitness.
Take notice…
Be curious. Catch sight of the beautiful.
Remark on the unusual. Notice the changing
seasons. Savour the moment, whether you
are walking to work, eating lunch or talking
to friends. Be aware of the world around you
and what you are feeling. Reflecting on your
experiences will help you appreciate what
matters to you.
Give…
Do something nice for a friend, or a
stranger. Thank someone. Smile.
Volunteer your time. Join a community
group. Look out, as well as in. Seeing
yourself, and your happiness, linked to
the wider community can be incredibly
rewarding and creates connections with
the people around you.
Keep learning…
Try something new. Rediscover an old
interest. Sign up for that course. Take on a
different responsibility at work. Fix a bike.
Learn to play an instrument or how to cook
your favorite food. Set a challenge you will
enjoy achieving. Learning new things will
make you more confident as well as being
fun.
