This document outlines the corporate social responsibility activities of the School of Business of BSU for 2020. It focuses on initiatives around global warming in January such as open lectures on alternative energy and meatless days in the cafeteria. In February, the focus is on reducing plastic through collection points for plastic caps and installing separate garbage containers. Global warming month
Important dates:
January 11 - National Parks and
Reserves Day
National Parks and Reserves Day – the strictly
protected wild territories today are the main
and probably the only way to protect from
extinction at least a small part of wildlife and
untouched parts of the planet. For the first
time, Day of Reserves and National Parks
began to be celebrated in 1997 initiated by
the Wildlife Conservation Center and the
World Wildlife Fund.

Global warming month
Specific activities:
January 9 - Open lecture for students and
employees of the School of business on the
use of alternative energy sources and ways
to prevent global warming
January 15-16 - Two days without meat in the
canteens of the School of business
January 22 - 25 - Create the challenge (the
best photo in public transport) in the
accounts of the School of Business in the
social networks
January 28 - Distribution of checklists to all
employees and students of the business
school by e-mail

9. January
Global warming month
Check-list:
• Use public transport instead of a private car at
least 2 times a week.
• Unplug appliances you are not currently using from
the mains every day.
• Do not eat meat at least 3 times a week
• Before using the services of banks, financial
institution, check whether it invests in enterprises
with high levels of harmful emissions.
• Do not buy fruits or vegetables out of season.
• If you need to travel abroad and you have an
alternative, which transport to prefer, choose any
option except air transport.
• Talk about the necessity of preventing global
warming with 2 friends not from SB.

Plastic month
Important dates:
February 2 - World Wetlands Day
The events held on World Wetlands Day are created to
draw the attention of the public and governments around
the world to the value of wetlands to support the
sustainable development of our planet.
February 19 - World Marine Mammal Day (Whale Day)
Worldwide, Marine Mammal Protection Day or World Whale
and Dolphin Day is celebrated on February 19th around the
world. Moreover, this environmental date is about not only
the protection of whales, but also of all marine mammals
and various other living creatures that live in the seas and
oceans of our planet. This Day was established in 1986,
when a moratorium on whaling, introduced by the
International Whaling Commission (IWC), came into force.

11. February
Plastic month
Specific activities:
February 6 - Establishment of collection points for
plastic bottle caps on all buildings of The Institute of
business
February 12 - Posting information on how to properly
sort garbage on social networks and on the territory
of The Institute of business
February 15-22 - A week without "takeaway" at the
School of business
February 24 - Installation of containers for separate
garbage collection in the building at Oboynaya, 7
February 27 - Organization of an open lecture for
employees of the School of business to The
chizhovsky landfill.
