• Shows all data that has been input through
the use of several pages
• Bottom of the screen is a “scratchpad” for
data input
• Data input (keyboard)
• Consists of a number pad, alphabetical
keypad, and shortcut keys.

Primary Use
3 dimensional flight planning for modern jet aircraft
Ability to complete performance calculations
Data input
Initialization-Done by the Pilot flying (PF), and verified by the Pilot
Monitoring (PM) prior to the Departure Briefing
STATUS Page- To verify active database, date, and time.
POS INIT page- Copy departure airport lat/long into SET POS data line
FPLN- entire origin, destination, alternate, and flight number
DEP/ARR- Select departure runway SID, STAR, and transition. Also select arrival
and transitions as applicable.

FPLN-Enter route per ATC clearance
ATC PERF INIT
Enter CRZ ALT, ALTN ALT (if applicable), and FUEL
1/3 enter PASS/WT and cargo
2/3 enter CLIMB, CRUISE, and descent winds, and ISA DEV from computer flight
plan if using PREDICTED fuel mode.
3/3 enter reserve and taxi fuel from dispatch release.
THRUST LIMIT
1/2 enter OAT
2/2 enter FLEX TEMP as applicable
PERF MENU- Enable Advisory VNAV

FUEL MGMT- Activate PREDICTED or MEASURED performance mode
MFD MENU-
Enable PF window to VNAV, PM window to ON
Enable SPD, ALT, and RNG to ALT, on both MFD’s
Select other MFD displays as desired
RADIO- Enable NAV 1 and NAV2 AUTO tuning
VOR CONTROL- Enable or disable VOR’s per NOTAMS
LEGS
Select MFD FORMAT to PLAN MAP
Using ↑↓ keys, verify the FMS route
Select MFD FORMAT to FMS MAP

Verify correct trip distance with computerized flight plan
Select COPY ACTIVE
LEGS- Select for departure
Complete the Departure Briefing
