Ancient Egypt Research Paper
Illness is in no way a new thing, if you had happened to to sick at the time of ancient egyptians there
probably was a treatment for it. However in ancient egypt, the medicine that we think of now was not
the preferred way in treating diseases. The egyptians had a leg on on the other societies of the ancient
world. This mostly relates to their embalming process where they religiously practiced removing and
preserving human remains. The ancient egyptians believed that in order for a soul to travel to the
afterlife the body must be preserved.Through the embalming process, egyptians had gained great
knowledge of anatomy, dissection and preservation. The entire mummification process took multiple
skilled prist and roughly 70 days to complete. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For this period any understanding of bacteria was astoundingly advanced. The knowledge of Ancient
Egyptians began to pave the way to other developing societies and where we stand today. Their
achievements of human body and ailments even made the greeks envious and they soon began taking
egyptian knowledge into their own hands. The Greeks like the egyptians were very serious about their
religious practices. Priest in ancient greece were trained in simple surgery and herbal remedies.
Ancient philosopher named Hippocrates discovered an idea that was quite radical at that time. Built on
the idea that the egyptians started, he predicted that perhaps illness may not only be caused by the
gods but also for natural reasons. Hippocrates titles this the theory of the four humors which focused
on the body consisting of four liquids; blood, black bile, yellow bile and phlegm. If these four humor
were in balance you were healthy and if they were out of balance you were sick and needed to be
treated accordingly. The idea of the gods not being the reason for everything was revolutionary in the
fact that now societies could be examining topics in a more scientific

Implementation Plan A successful ERP Implementation Plan involves several steps. These steps
include Project Planning, Architectural Design, Data Collection, and Testing (Raj, 2010). In addition,
Training is a very important the implementation plan. During the project planning phase, deciding on
project goals, project costs, and communication about deadlines and resources. Within the
architectural design phase, decisions on programming languages or vendor selection are made. Data
collection is the next phase according to Raj (2010). This phase includes collecting data elements
important to the business and putting them into a format that can be loaded into the database. The next
phase is the testing phase. The testing phase ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Testing Software quality assurance is a very important part of the software development and
installation. The main objective of quality assurance is to avoid problems or to detect them as soon as
possible (Shelly, Cashman Rosenblatt, 2003, p. 410). The best case scenario is to have four instances
of the system, a testing environment, a user acceptance environment, a production environment, and a
training environment. The program can be tested on the testing and user acceptance environments. The
initial and most important step of the testing phase is creating the test plan. The test plan should
include what features and functionality will be tested based on the confirmed requirements. The next
step is unit testing or code review. Unit testing involves the QA person testing the code on their
machine. Once code has passed the unit test, it will then be released to the testing environment for
system testing. The QA person can then test the integration of the different modules of the code as a
program rather than separate parts as well as to find and report bugs and any data inaccuracy. The next
phase of testing is the user acceptance test. In this phase the users test the program for functionality
and data accuracy. The test phase isn t a linear phase, more of a circular, back and forth between the
developers and the QA people. After all phases have passed, the next step would be to open a change

How Tolkien s The Silmarillion Is Rife With Battles...
Tolkien s The Silmarillion is rife with battles between good and evil, these diametric ideals are what
make this fantasy mockup of the bible a compelling and interesting book. The relationships between
different peoples and the tension those relationships create are fueled by the binary opposition of what
is considered good and evil. Tolkien was a literary scholar and payed abrupt attention to the
appellation of places and people and the affect the supposed locution of the cultural groups within the
novel. A central element that drives the work s exploration of its theme includes suggestions of the
dualism of good and evil and the different ways evil corrupts good. The opening of Ainulindalë

Aule, one of the Valar, opposes Iluvatar by attempting to create life, same as Melkor. Unlike Melkor,
Aule is humble and begs forgiveness, willing to destroy his creation to regain to good graces of
Iluvatar. As described in Ainulindalë Aule s are an imitation of Ilúvatar s, Tolkien makes it clear that
only Ilúvatar can create true life, perhaps best described here as beings with souls. (Fry, 2015) The
Dwarves exist only as projections of their maker until Ilúvatar gives them independent thought, in this
action he both forgives Aule for his defiance and adopts the dwarves as his own. Ilúvatar s accepting
and tolerating the making of the Dwarves closes the short term binary opposition of the two creators,
so both Aule and his creations are once again, a singular structure which stands with what is
considered good. Iluvatar, however, does not allow the dwarves to interfere with his vision for whom
the first born should be so the Dwarves are put to sleep under mountains until after the Elves awaken.
The start of the third book, the Quenta Silmarillion, begins with a strife between Tulkas and Melkor.
Tulkas is described as a wrathful, angry being in the same sentence he is mentioned laughing. Both his
laughter and wrath caused Melkor to flee, taking clouds and darkness with him. As easy as it is to
imagine a

An Analysis Of Robert Leckie s The Mystery Of The...
The difficulties of staying sane are immense during war and tragedies. Despite being institutionalized
and constant attempts to change one s mindset and demeanor, the war didn t alter Robert Leckie s
overall personality and traits as a man. Continuous physical and psychological battles erupted during
World War II. Robert Leckie managed to remain sane, balanced, and humble enough to paint a clear
picture of graphic and vivid altercations and battles. During the war, like most marines, Leckie began
to question his intellect and the things he believed was significant. He assumed that he was becoming
to understand and perceive most of the enigmas within reality, until he got to war. The mystery of the
universe had once inhabited these lolling lumps, had given each an identity, a way of walking, perhaps
a social habit of address or a way with words or a knack of putting color on canvas. They had been so
different, then. Now they were nothing, heaps of nothing . (Helmet for My Pillow p 37) When relating
to the bullets in and the power of guns, Leckie wondered how many lives are altered and obliterated
by a quarter inch of heated metal. Does this force, this mystery, I mean this soul does this spill out on
the ground along with the blood? No. It is somewhere, I know it. Another instance is when a Japanese
warriors struts from the jungle, his crew men take pot shots at him by torture. Instead of the toying and
making a mockery of the man, Lecki draws his pistol and takes him out

Essay on Canadian History
In Canadian history it is quite evident we are influenced heavily by the much stronger nations around
us. Therefore our own content in Canada is sometimes overshadowed by other cultures, specifically
with regards to the United States who have a big influence on our cultural industries. Pierre Trudeau
expressed the feeling Canadians have with this co existence, Living next to you is in some ways like
sleeping with an elephant. No matter how friendly or temperate the beast, one is affected by every
twitch and grunt. Some may argue that Canada should not continue to develop regulations to protect
its cultural industries. However, I will argue that Canada should continue to develop some regulations

Continentalism is a major contributing factor because it can be very threatening for the less powerful
country. Continentalism refers to the presence of a global power (e.g., United States) at one s border
must be considered a fact of special importance (Hiller 61). This is to say that the more powerful
country has influence over the less powerful country. This concept is relevant to my argument about
protecting Canada s cultural industries because there has been an increasing level in American and
foreign cultural penetration in Canada. Sharing a large border and more importantly a common
language with the United States means Canada is in a very difficult position in regard to American
culture, with direct attempts at the Canadian market or the general diffusion of American culture in the
globalized media arena. Thus the people of Canada are influenced heavily by American culture and
are surrounded more by their culture. The Canadian government should regulate cultural industries so
we do not lose interest in our own content. Most of our culture in Canada is from foreign sources:
More than 80% of English language magazines available in Canada are imported. 88% of new record
releases are foreign content. Foreign films take about 95% of the screen time in our movie theatres.
Foreign content makes up 61%

Why Columbus Day Should Not Be Celebrateding Christopher...
The reason the United States Of America celebrates holidays is because the people or events that have
in some way affected the whole country in a good way. For example the reason why the United States
celebrates Presidents Day is because it is George Washington s birthday and he benefited the country
in the best way possible however, there is a holiday where several Americans feel that it should not be
celebrated which is Columbus Day. Columbus Day should not be celebrated because Christopher
Columbus is not worthy of being commemorated.
Christopher Columbus was born in Genoa,Italy in 1451. He had three brothers and one sister along
with a dad named Dominico and mom named Susanna. He left his father s wool weaving business to
join the Genoese Fleet to sail the Mediterranean Sea. During one of adventures his ship crashed in
Portugal but decided to stay there with his little brother and then began working with a mapmaker. In
the 15th century Portugal desperately needed to find a faster route to Asia so they can have better
trading. Columbus then decided he should be the one to find that new route, but with all the rumors on
which direction is fastest he thought he found Asia but it was actually America.
In August of 1942 Columbus and his men sailed the ships of The Nina, The Pinta, and The Santa
Maria. The first of four trips traveled from Spain all across the Atlantic Ocean. On October 12th he
spotted and landed an island in the name of San Salvador but the natives called

What Is The Main Issue In To Kill A Mockingbird
To Kill a Mockingbird is a book about the struggles and many issues that happened in the south when
racism was very big, and is seen through the eyes of a young girl. One of the issues Scout doesn t
understand is the idea of racism. The Ku Klux Klan was very popular during the time period that the
book takes place. Many events that took place in the book could have easily been influenced by the
Ku Klux Klan. It also explains the message they depicted against blacks. The Ku Klux Klan originated
in Pulaski, Tennessee. The goal of the KKK was to reestablish white supremacy throughout the
country. Anyone against blacks could easily be part of the Klan. The government tried to stop the
KKK in the early 1800´s, but failed. Its members waged an underground campaign of intimidation and
violence directed at white and black Republican leaders. After a period of decline, white Protestant
nativist groups revived the Klan in the early 20th century, burning crosses and staging rallies, parades
and marches denouncing immigrants, Catholics, Jews, blacks and organized labor. The KKK beat and
killed black political figures and politicians. They also beat and whipped thousands of blacks to keep
them from voting, and thinking ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Talent
TALENT The word talent is derived from the Greek word talanton , which means balance, sum,
weight, was an unit of weight, in gold and silver, which was used as a legal tender in the trading
transactions of ancient era. The word talent used today to denote the capacity of achievement or
success and or ability in varied fields of the arts and science. And oddly enough, the basic root of the
word was originally an ancient weight or money for the payment for goods and services in the ancient
world. So in simple words, we can say that a talent is something which is very valuable and more then
anything in the world. Everyone on the planet Earth has their own capacity and talent. The only thing

Development, Development And Development Of Eggs To Infants
By introducing eggs to infants starting at six months, the baby will have a higher blood concentration
of choline, other biomarkers in the choline pathways, and docosahexaenoic acid. These are key
nutrients that will help develop in the child better brains.
Eggs, similar to milk or seeds, support the early growth and development of an organism. It is also
dense in nutrient content such as choline that acts like vitamin B and DHA, an omega 3 fatty acid
which serves as a structural component of the brain and plays key roles in the development and
function of infant s brain.

However, with new knowledge that the cholesterol in the egg yolk does not transfer over to the body
and cause cholesterol levels to go up, the training menu brought back the whole eggs for bodybuilders.
A new study, published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, said that egg yolks are actually
better for building muscle after a workout compared to the same amount of egg whites. In the
research, 18 young men were given an 18 gram serving of protein from egg yolks or egg whites after
they had one weightlifting session.
Researchers took the blood samples and muscle biopsies of the 18 to track their muscle protein
synthesis. Those who were given the egg yolks registered a 40 percent greater post exercise response
in building new muscle than the men given the egg whites.
Nicholas Burd, a professor of kinesiology and community health at the University of Illinois, said that
research shows more protein is needed in the diet than once thought to maintain health. He observed a
lot of stress on protein nutrition in modern society.
Burd said that as the world population grows, there is a need for cost effective and sustainable
strategies to improve the use of protein in the diet. He said that the study showed consuming egg
protein in its natural matrix has a greater benefit than getting isolated from the same source.

A Day At The Sherry Netherland Hotel
Our plan for having a fun and relaxing day at The Sherry Netherland Hotel in New York City was
perfectly planned out. We would head out to the pool, eat pizza, play in the arcade, and then go
explore the city. Here we are, two brothers, in a luxurious hotel, in the middle of a big city, what could
go wrong?
So, we set the alarm for 10am in hopes to be back in our hotel room by 8pm. We woke up the next day
excited to start the day. We noticed our dad was still sleeping. So we take the opportunity to make a
prank call to the front desk, now the employee at the front desk is suspicious of our prank call. Once
our dad woke up, he asked if we were excited for our day ahead of us. Immediately we got ready for

All of a sudden the elevator abruptly shook to a slow stop, making a screeching sound louder than I ve

Symbolism In The Scarlet Letter. Symbolism Is The Use Of
Symbolism in The Scarlet Letter
Symbolism is the use of an object, character, or event to represent something else. Nathaniel
Hawthorne, without a doubt, uses symbolism throughout the course of the novel, The Scarlet Letter.
The novel takes place in a Puritan community in present day Boston. Hester Prynne, Arthur
Dimmesdale, Roger Chillingworth, and Pearl are the main characters. They all have major roles and
without them, the novel would not be the same. Hester Prynne; married to Roger Chillingworth, had a
baby named Pearl out of wedlock with a man named Dimmesdale. Because Hester was married,
herself and Dimmesdale have now committed adultery and that is the main cause of a lot of the major
events that take place in the novel.

Since everyone knew about Hester and her transgression, she was treated as an outcast by most which
is where the lifetime of humiliation comes in. For instance, Hawthorne stated that people saw Hester
as the reality of sin and woman s frailty (Hawthorne 88). Innocent minded children began to think
poorly of Hester because of what their parents told them about her. Hester helped the poor, and instead
of treating Hester with respect and kindness, they treated her crudely and disrespectfully. Clergymen
stop Hester in the streets and use her as a sermon. Puritan women who believe that Hester should have
received a harsher punishment, give Hester vulgar gestures and make impolite remarks. In spite of the
poor treatment and loneliness, Hester stayed content and just turned the other cheek. She was focused
on her needlework and on Pearl. Hester was even limited in her needlework, she could not embroider
the white veil in which a bride wears on her wedding day. This is because of the, ever relentless vigor
with which society frowned upon her sin (Hawthorne 92). With all of the harsh treatment and
separation from society, this is why for Hester, the scarlet letter A not only stands for adultery, but also
as a lifetime of humiliation.
Now that Hester and her perception of the A has been discussed, her partner in crime Arthur
Dimmesdale must now be

As factories and mining centers where developed, cities and towns were built around them. People
who live in cities usually live in large apartment buildings. There is good heath care, schools, but they
are generally very crowded. Large roadways and railroad systems also helped to spread urbanization
throughout the country. In China, because of communism, there are no classes. People are either poor
or wealthy, there is not much of a median. Government officials live in the bigger cities in large
estates. Today, China is on the cutting edge of architecture. Huge skyscrapers have been built and
other nations have been taking in what the Chinese have built. In earlier years China was the most
technologically advanced civilization in the world. Reminders of this era still stand today, like the
great wall and the emperors palace. Also, we can see reminders of this period in our own country for
example, the Chinese theater in Hollywood. Now China s style in decoration is a popular trend it s art
and luxurious nature. In conclusion, housing and the way people live, are very similar yet different
between the three countries China, India, and Africa. I believe the best way to learn about it is to
actually go there which I hope to do someday. Housing in India India has the second highest
population in the world, only surpassed by China. India s billion plus citizens live in huge cities

Example Of Research Proposal On Obesity

Introduction
In this era of modernization, obesity has become a common disorder affecting a large number of
individuals all around the world. According to research published in 2013, one in five American
deaths is now associated with obesity.[1] In fact, obesity is defined as abnormal or excessive fat
accumulation that presents a risk to health.[10] An obese person will mount up a large amount of body
fat that it might bring about negative effect on their health. Waist circumference is an easy way to
check how much body fat we have and its distribution around our body. Eventually, it compares
closely with our body mass index (BMI), and is often seen as a better way of checking our risk of
developing a chronic disease.[9] A study has been done to show the threshold values for body mass
index (BMI) and waist circumference (WC) for detecting cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk.[3] Thus,

Marion, By Hunter Korhumel
Marion by Hunter Korhumel Whenever faced with life s hardest moments, we instinctively fear. There
is no avoiding this; as humans we are emotional creatures, and we fear for ourselves and others. These
kind of moments can prove to be transformative in our characters. When I say this I mean that these
times can bring about some of our greatest qualities like strength, fortitude, and perseverance. When
you are the only person there to comfort someone who is looking at a life threatening illness; your first
reaction is to be scared and feel overwhelmed. You find yourself asking: Am I the right person for
this? Do I really have what it takes to be strong for this person? I found myself in this situation once,
and I had to approach these kind questions. When faced with these questions I made an important

Jean Luc Godard s Le Mepris
Le Mépris is a film distinct in Jean Luc Godard s career, for many reasons: amongst others, it was his
first foray into a more big budget, large scale production. Ironically or perhaps purposefully one of the
overarching themes explored within Le Mépris is maintaining artistic integrity, whilst attaining
commercial success. Nowhere is this better explored than the famous middle sequence: their extended
argument indoors. I aim to analyse this scene s depiction as not only a simple argument between
tumultuous lovers, but as it s symbolic exploration of their decaying relationship as a whole,
encompassing many of the overarching themes of Le Mépris love, ennui, and of course, contempt.

Perhaps this is really a subversive way to express the emptiness consuming their relationship.
Significant too at the beginning of this scene, is the way the camera follows Lucille and Paul. The
majority of the time they are framed in shots alone, only in passing does the frame capture them both.
Though they are inhabiting the same space, the choice to capture them separately is very deliberate,
highlighting the isolation mounting within their relationship as they start to grow apart; tying into the
existential theme that eventually, we all die alone. The vehicle of a failing relationship to depict this
existential dread is an apt choice; nowhere more is isolation emphasized than in contrast of it s
antithesis: once romantic love, the communion of two souls.
Paul seems engrossed with his letters, pacing around the apartment staring at them, never really lifting
his eyes to properly meet his wife s gaze. The letters are symbolic of his work his priorities now lie
there, and not his wife. For a second, Lucille seems to snap from a sullen mood to a more playful one,
and perhaps in a bid to grasp her husband s attention once more, she asks him to guess what she
bought today. When he asks what, and does not get an immediate answer, he reacts with irritation

Heraclitus believed in a world of Logos, or logic, and that mankind lacks basic reasoning. He stated
that senses are necessary to understanding the world we live in, but without the right language, we
cannot interpret it correctly, and so, it s a mistake for barbaric men to have senses (barbaric men do
not have the capability to learn language). Many of his ideas are widely known today. For example,
expect the unexpected and that if things happened the way we want or wish them to be, then the world
would become chaotic. Heraclitus stated, Opposition brings concord. Out of discord comes the fairest

Summary Of John Howard s Response To The China Problem
Introducing the debate roughly, I shall present on how different governments, from Howard
government to Abbott government, respond to the China problem.
4.1.1 John Howard government and the development of the China question, 1996 2007
Although Howard introduced his response to the China problem during his election campaign, his
government first systemically present the problem in the 1997 Australia s Foreign and Trade Policy

grasping economic benefits; strengthening relations with the US, and obtaining an upper hand in
technologies and military forces in the next fifteen years; and contributing to regional peace and
stability, the basis ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Politically, the paper argued for binding engagement. Australia attempted to promote the principle of
the rule of law in the region. Indirectly, Howard government projected soft power, favorably
intangible power of binding norms, to engage Asian powers, including China, shaping their policy
preference without coercion (Nye 2004: 5 6). Public diplomacy is also discussed in the paper as a way
to project Australia s attractive image for the 2000 Sydney Olympics (Commonwealth of Australia
1997a: 78). In addition, the paper presented clue showing Australia s determination to remains
politically close with the United States and economic close with China looking for the formation of ad
hoc issue based coalitions to show Australia s eagerness in issues actively involved (Commonwealth
of Australia 1997a: 50 51). Shortly, the 1997 Foreign and Trade Policy White Paper laid down Howard
government s grand strategy with two particular focuses on strategic implications of the rise of Asia,
arguing against the need to choose one side exclusively between American led Western camp and,
potentially in the future, Chinese led Asian camp. On the other hand, several

types of human beings is the effect of mass migrations of people who root themselves in their ideas,
instead of places. Most would agree that Rushdie s claim is highly debatable. In Scott Russell Sanders
, Staying Put, he counter argues the opinion of Rushdie with a critical yet sarcastic and subjective tone
to skillfully develop his perspective about moving. Scott Sanders uses a critical tone in lines one
through twenty six to criticize the way that human beings have gotten too comfortable with finding
new places to live after mistreating their previous habitations without regard to fellow creatures or
descendants. He suggests, We have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Through using a series of allusions from history, Sanders gives readers a general understanding of his
perspective. He writes, The Spaniards devastated Central and South America by imposing on this New
World the religion, economics, and politics of the Old. 55 Colonists brought slavery with them to
North America, along with smallpox and Norway rats. The Dust Bowl of the 1930s was caused not by
drought but by the transfer onto the Great Plains of farming methods that were suitable to wetter
regions. Sanders use of allusions gives a clear background of how migrators have had negative effects
on their fellow creatures and the people native to their new locations. An antithesis is used to counter
Rushdie s opinion, Sanders writes, the belief that movement is inherently good, staying put is bad; that
uprooting brings tolerance, while rootedness breeds intolerance; that imaginary homelands are
preferable to geographical ones; that to be modern, enlightened, fully of our time is to be displaced.
When Sanders puts him and Rushdie s contrasting ideas together, his subjectivity is obvious to
readers. This clear subjectivity is very effective in moving readers to believe that staying put should be

What Is The Failure Of Nokia
Nokia Corporation
Nokia Corporation is one of the world s largest vendor of mobile phones from 1998 to 2012. At
Nokia, they are committed to connecting people around the world through technology. From 2014,
Nokia reorganized its structure into four category of business groups: Mobile Phones, Multimedia,
Enterprise Solutions, and Networks. Nokia operates 15 manufacturing facilities in nine countries and
maintains research and development facilities in 12 countries (Reference For Business, n.d.).
In 1865, Nokia first started its operation as a paper mill by a Finnish engineer, Fredrik Idestam, at the
Tammerkoski Rapids in Southern Finland. The name Nokia was inspired by the location of his second
mill which was built on the banks of the Nokianvirta river in 1868. The firm was transformed into a
share company with Leo Mechelin in 1871. Towards the end of 19th century, the company expanded
into the electronic business segment. Meanwhile, Eduard Polon established Finnish Rubber Works in
1898 and Arvid, Wickstrom started operation for Finnish Cable Work in 1912. The three companies

One of the reasons were the management s reluctance to change due to the risk involved in software
changing. Nokia underestimated the importance of the transition to smartphones, after all, most of
their profits earned in the mobile phone industry in 2007 were not coming from smartphones segment.
Allocating a lot of resources into a high end, low volume business would have seemed risky.
Therefore, Nokia s failure resulted from an institutional reluctance to transit into a new era. Another
mistake that Nokia committed was to overestimate the strength of its brand, believing that they would
be able to catch up in the smartphone competition even if they were late. Nokia continued to insist that
its superior hardware designs would win over

To light the candle means to see the world full of opportunities for engagement and growth, to see
potential in every person and every idea. To help every one of us to connect with our best selves, and
to truly become an Or Lagoyim a shining light to every nation of the world. More than a congregation,
a kehila kadosha a sacred, holy community.
I became a rabbi because I believe with all my heart that we have this potential. At times a rabbi might
hold the candle to illuminate the dark, but most of the time we search for it together. Judaism inspires
me to be a better person, and when I teach whether it is with one Bat Mitzvah student or a room full of
committee members Judaism inspires each of us to grow, to treat each other with kindness, patience
and respect: to find the light.
Judaism can inspire us to create the kind of holy community that I see here at IHC. My family has
been welcomed with open arms by a caring staff, caring board, brotherhood and

I Watched A Fair Amount Of Television
Growing up, I watched a fair amount of television. Being the late 1990s and early 2000s, some of my
favorites included Sesame Street, The Rugrats, Veggie Tales, and Little Bill. All of which, starred
mostly male characters. At the time, I didn t think much of it; it made sense for boys to be the stars.
All of my teddy bears had boy names, the gender neutral characters in my books were boys, and I
even called my female cat a boy. It wasn t until later when I became more educated on gender
inequality and stereotypes that I noticed the problem on television and in other aspects of my
childhood that affected the way that I thought.
In 1991, Katha Pollitt, a poet and essayist, published Hers; The Smurfette Principle. She starts her
essay off by telling the readers about her personal experience raising a daughter in a male dominated
world. Pollitt mentions how she struggled with finding a children s movie starring a female with more
than just a nice figure, a pretty face, and a damsel in distress personality to give to her daughter for
Christmas. She finally chose Disney s The Little Mermaid . Ariel, despite looking like the
stereotypical princess, is brave, determined, and the hero of her own story unlike most Disney
princesses. Pollitt considered Ariel role model material for her preschool age daughter and other
young girls alike. Pollitt claims that television networks, movies, and books that are mostly male
dominant send negative messages to the developing mind of

Insatiable Desires in Washington Irving s The Legend of Sleepy Hollow
Contemporary United States natives are known for their consumptive attitudes, which mainly stem
from the constant American hustle and bustle for more money, bigger houses, and faster cars.
Americans are known for yearning, needing, sometimes even demanding whatever their vast appetites
desire. This American concept of prosperity can be found rooted in a popular classic American story
written over one hundred and fifty years ago by Washington Irving. Irving s frightful yet funny short
story The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, chronicles the triumphs and trials of the bird like character,
Ichabod Crane, who possesses a vast appetite for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Irving describes not only the villagers as happy and content, but also the Sleepy Hollow community,
which remains undisturbed in quiet solitude from the rest of the world. Manners and customs change
little in Sleepy Hollow where it seems everything stays pretty much the same, despite the
overwhelming tide of new thought spreading across the country:
They are like those little nooks of still water, which border a rapid stream, where we may see the straw
and bubble riding quietly at anchor, or slowly revolving in their mimic harbour, undisturbed by the
rushing of the passing current. (950)
Sleepy Hollow can be seen as the ultimate untouched village; the townspeople know each other
intimately and possess a sort of naive pleasantry, which directly contradicts Ichabod s greedy
yearnings. The satisfied nature of both the villagers and the village provides a backdrop to blatantly
observe the overpowering appetite of Ichabod Crane.
Irving gives Ichabod one of his most important characteristics when he describes the pedagogue as
having an appetite for food similar to an anaconda
(951). Described also as a huge feeder (951), Ichabod marvels over a banquet table laden with food:
The pedagogue s mouth watered as he looked upon this sumptuous promise of luxurious winter fare

2.6 The impacts of the Civil War on forest management in Liberia
The fourteen years of civil war in Liberia results in a class of marginalized young people who
currently lack trust in their government or any kind of institutions for that matter (Richards, Archibald,
Bruce et al., 2005). These young people, who make up more than half of the population in the country,
believe that the administrative justice has failed them. As a result, these young people preferred to take
chances with various rebel groups during the civil war (2005). In order to erase these beliefs, a study
suggested that a new peacebuilding approach is necessary. This new approach, authors argue, is an
inclusive Community driven Development (CDD). Richards and his colleagues (2005) also argue that
this process is capable of playing a crucial role in shaping different kinds of societies, provided those
societies incorporate marginalized and socially excluded populations in the rebuilding process. This
new approach calls for equal participation of all interested parties in the distribution and management
of states natural resources. No study reinforces this better than chapter nine of Colfer Byron

Advantages Of Frugal Innovation
Introduction
There is a growing need for simple, cost efficient, commercially viable technology solutions for
complex or day to day problems to turn the restrictions and constraints into advantage. Frugal
innovation is any innovation which works around the constraints financial or otherwise to either
increase efficiency of a process or service or effectively lower costs for an organisation or section of
people.
Frugal which is also known as Jugaad innovation works around the concept of creation of products or

With the poor growth rate in the developed nations, price has become one of the major factors in

The Importance Of Still Life Art
Food has long been a popular subject in art. For many hundreds of years, people have created
beautiful food based artworks that are cherished, even today. The consumption of food is a shared
experience as is art. I love this idea, that we can all share art. It s an opportunity to collaborate on
ideas and express our creativity and thoughtfulness and it is accessible to all different age groups. This
week I interviewed two artists that are noted for their skill in food inspired art to discuss their artwork.
These are Still life with silverware and lobster by Pieter Claesz and Still Life: The Food Bowl by Ken
and Julia Yonetani. Despite the fact that these works were created four centuries apart, they share
many factors and display the essence of still life art. The aim, for me, of this interview is to identify
the changes in still life art, will there be any use of modern, emerging technologies in the more
modern piece? Or maybe a 3D element?
I am thrilled to be able to shed some light on the still life genre that occupied much of my painting.
The beauty of still life painting is that it reflects so much of what is going on in the world around it.
When this painting was created in 1641, the middle class were gaining prominence. People wanted
other people to know how wealthy and cultured they were. In Still Life with Silverware and Lobster I

Hip hop as a ding an sich is marked by some confusion. Consider the name; is it quot;hip hop, quot;

hop is, at the same time, a cultural phenomenon that developed in the late 70 s in the projects in

Essay On If Life Exist On Other Planets
Since the beginning of time, humans have looked out into space and wondered, are we are alone? This
curiosity about our own place in the universe has inspired many ideas and stories that attempt to
explain how life could exist on other planets. Scientists at NASA have been discovering evidence that
suggests it may be possible for life to exist on another planet within our own solar system. I have
always been interested in the mysteries of the universe, and never pass up an opportunity to learn
more about it. One current theory for the possibility life on other planets focuses on Jupiter s moon

Now the thickest ice on earth ever recorded is a little over 4 km thick and is located in Antarctica. To
give you some perspective, 10 kilometers is about from Citrus College to the 10 freeway, and that s
just the minimum thickness, astronomers don t know for sure yet how deep the ice actually is. But
how could liquid water exist on a planet so far from the sun?
You might be asking yourself, why isn t the moon solid ice, similar to the former planet Pluto? Even
though Europa is much further from the sun than Earth, its inner ocean is believed to have warm
water, at least warm enough to be liquid. It gets much of its heat due to Jupiter s gravity, pulling the
oceans as it makes its orbit and creates friction with the ice and the salt water ocean underneath. This
effect is similar to the tides here on Earth. Europa s liquid ocean is estimated to contain about twice
the amount of liquid water than all of Earth s oceans. Most of Earth s oceans still remain unexplored,
and the life that exists there, undiscovered. Imagine what might exist under an ocean twice that size.
Scientists suspect Europa s ocean may have enough oxygen to be able to support life, however,
according to NASA in an article published by phys.org, a science news website, the kind of life we
may expect to find (if any) would be micro organisms similar to the single celled forms of

A Brief Note On Lateral Thinking And Its Effects On A Self...
De Bono (1990) defines, Lateral thinking is a set of attitudes, idioms, and techniques for cutting across
patterns in a self organizing asymmetric patterning system . He adds that it is helpful in generating
new concepts and perceptions. He also claims that Lateral thinking is also concerned with the
breaking out of the concept prisons of old ideas and related to insight, creativity, and humour. It is also
one of the most sought after approaches by most of the English language facilitators owing to its wide
range of general applications. Language itself is the most obvious code system with the words
themselves as triggers.
Gadd (1998) points out the use of material from De Bono (1970, 1982) are quite common in
humanistic language teaching classes. Adair (1988) believes that the intellectual skills such as
analyzing, synthesizing, and valuing are required for clear speaking. Similarly, a public speaking
tutorial on the internet categorically states that speaking is thinking . Ellin Kofsky Schalnick and
William S.Hall (1991) say that language is simply a verbal description of thought. This idea reflects
that thought is primary and language just acts as a tool to express or to convey the ideas or concepts in
an effective manner. Spada and Lightbown (1993) hold that thinking skills operate effectively when
students originally voice their analysis and take part in the learning process occurring in the
classroom. Pica (1994) argue that learners in the classroom should

Telehealth Analysis
The use and applications of telehealth services have expanded over the past decade, along with the
role of technology in improving and coordinating care. Telehealth has improved capabilities to reduce
travel time, increase access to specialty care, and improve patient safety, quality of care, and provider
support.1 Traditional models of telehealth involve care delivered to the patient at a series of
originating (or spoke) sites from a specialist working at a distant (or hub) site.
Public and private payers already reimburse providers for certain services delivered through
telehealth, and the shift from the fee for service system to accountable care organizations and bundled
care in the United States has the potential to increase utilization ... Show more content on

Tele stroke is another area of tele emergency care that has been the subject of several studies assessing
its effectiveness.5 Acute ischemic stroke is a potential candidate for telehealth interventions because
of the need to reach patients within the golden hour and the specialized expertise needed to decide
whether to administer intravenous recombinant tissue type plasminogen activator (tPA) to remove the
clot.5 The American Heart Association Stroke Council recommends that tele stroke networks should
be adopted, to eliminate geographic disparities in care that may occur as a result of limited resources,
manpower shortages, and long distances to specially trained providers. 5 A recent survey identified 56
active tele stroke programs in the United States, with the majority of spoke sites being small, rural
hospitals.6 Published studies on tele stroke, however, often focus on larger, more urban networks,
likely due to their larger patient volumes and data collection and analysis

Ethics In The Military Essay
To what extent is it morally right to force a subordinate to follow an order even if it is against their
will? Throughout everyday life, ethics are apparent within many aspects of an individual s life,
regardless of whether it s in the household, the workplace or even the military. without realizing what
they were. Ethics are principles that one follows in their life, which also affects the behavior of an
individual. The concepts of ethics falls into several components within one s life: events within history
such as Muhammad Ali s controversy, a religious stance like Christianity, or even a common structure,
in this case the military. This complex system contains many people with different upbringings and
morals which occasionally creates an ethical dilemma due to the different perspectives of the topic.
Within every branch of the military, a chain of command is inculcated into the members of service in
order to avoid many problems ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To look at it in a larger foundation, a disruption within the chain of command can influence one s
opinion on the choice of not following orders. The logic as to why the military functions as well as it
does comes from the obedience that becomes apparent between the two roles. However, if a disruption
between the relationship due to disobedience occurs, a chain reaction can appear and cause chaos.
Confucius explains that one needs to have determination to fulfil their official responsibilities even
when that meant disobeying orders (Chan, Wing tsit). Confucius is well known due to his status as a
philosopher, and for implying knowledge of ethics that he teaches in his works. By using reason to
reach conclusions, the fact that Confucius states that it s best to fulfil the duty of the job rather than
follow orders provides an ethical debate based on whether people think fulfilling a job is more
important or following orders to be more

Taking a Look at Cybercrime
Cybercrime
The misuse of computer systems has been a prevalent issue ever since the invention of computers. In
this digital age, cybercrime is the fastest growing categories of crime facing many nations. It is
pervasive and epidemic, threating billions of computer users and causing damages worth in billions.
Every year, the numbers of attacks are increasing in numbers and complexity. And as we become more
reliant on information systems, our security and privacy are in increasingly constant threat of
compromise. When planning online crime, cybercriminals employ different tactics for various reasons.
Their intention can be stealing money, obtaining valuable data, or simply revenge. When the Internet
was created, security was not taken into account. Most of the technologies we depend on today have
no effective security. The security issues of the internet are due to software thinking everyone is
playing by the rules. The design flaw allows cybercriminals to exploit and deliberately cause software
to perform tasks that not designed to do. Identity theft, hacking, spamming, and digital piracy these
are the few prevalent forms of cybercrimes.
Identity theft is increasingly becoming a prevalent form of cybercrime. Cybercriminals misrepresent
themselves by pretending to some else and use others personal information to open accounts or use
accounts that already exist. In 2014 22 million Americans had been victimized by.. These crimes cost

However in ancient egypt, the medicine that we think of now was not the preferred way in treating diseases. The egyptians had a leg on on the other societies of the ancient world. This mostly relates to their embalming process where they religiously practiced removing and preserving human remains. The ancient egyptians believed that in order for a soul to travel to the afterlife the body must be preserved.Through the embalming process, egyptians had gained great knowledge of anatomy, dissection and preservation. The entire mummification process took multiple skilled prist and roughly 70 days to complete. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For this period any understanding of bacteria was astoundingly advanced. The knowledge of Ancient Egyptians began to pave the way to other developing societies and where we stand today. Their achievements of human body and ailments even made the greeks envious and they soon began taking egyptian knowledge into their own hands. The Greeks like the egyptians were very serious about their religious practices. Priest in ancient greece were trained in simple surgery and herbal remedies. Ancient philosopher named Hippocrates discovered an idea that was quite radical at that time. Built on the idea that the egyptians started, he predicted that perhaps illness may not only be caused by the gods but also for natural reasons. Hippocrates titles this the theory of the four humors which focused on the body consisting of four liquids; blood, black bile, yellow bile and phlegm. If these four humor were in balance you were healthy and if they were out of balance you were sick and needed to be treated accordingly. During the project planning phase, deciding on project goals, project costs, and communication about deadlines and resources. Within the architectural design phase, decisions on programming languages or vendor selection are made. Data collection is the next phase according to Raj (2010). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Testing Software quality assurance is a very important part of the software development and installation. The main objective of quality assurance is to avoid problems or to detect them as soon as possible (Shelly, Cashman Rosenblatt, 2003, p. 410). The best case scenario is to have four instances of the system, a testing environment, a user acceptance environment, a production environment, and a training environment. The program can be tested on the testing and user acceptance environments. The initial and most important step of the testing phase is creating the test plan. The test plan should include what features and functionality will be tested based on the confirmed requirements. The next step is unit testing or code review. Unit testing involves the QA person testing the code on their machine. Once code has passed the unit test, it will then be released to the testing environment for system testing. The QA person can then test the integration of the different modules of the code as a program rather than separate parts as well as to find and report bugs and any data inaccuracy. The next phase of testing is the user acceptance test. In this phase the users test the program for functionality and data accuracy. The test phase isn t a linear phase, more of a circular, back and forth between the developers and the QA people. After all phases have passed, the next step would be to open a change ... Tolkien s The Silmarillion is rife with battles between good and evil, these diametric ideals are what make this fantasy mockup of the bible a compelling and interesting book. The relationships between different peoples and the tension those relationships create are fueled by the binary opposition of what is considered good and evil. Tolkien was a literary scholar and payed abrupt attention to the appellation of places and people and the affect the supposed locution of the cultural groups within the novel. Unlike Melkor, Aule is humble and begs forgiveness, willing to destroy his creation to regain to good graces of Iluvatar. As described in Ainulindalë Aule s are an imitation of Ilúvatar s, Tolkien makes it clear that only Ilúvatar can create true life, perhaps best described here as beings with souls. (Fry, 2015) The Dwarves exist only as projections of their maker until Ilúvatar gives them independent thought, in this action he both forgives Aule for his defiance and adopts the dwarves as his own. Ilúvatar s accepting and tolerating the making of the Dwarves closes the short term binary opposition of the two creators, so both Aule and his creations are once again, a singular structure which stands with what is considered good. Iluvatar, however, does not allow the dwarves to interfere with his vision for whom the first born should be so the Dwarves are put to sleep under mountains until after the Elves awaken. The start of the third book, the Quenta Silmarillion, begins with a strife between Tulkas and Melkor. Tulkas is described as a wrathful, angry being in the same sentence he is mentioned laughing. • 5. An Analysis Of Robert Leckie s The Mystery Of The... The difficulties of staying sane are immense during war and tragedies. Despite being institutionalized and constant attempts to change one s mindset and demeanor, the war didn t alter Robert Leckie s overall personality and traits as a man. Continuous physical and psychological battles erupted during World War II. Robert Leckie managed to remain sane, balanced, and humble enough to paint a clear picture of graphic and vivid altercations and battles. During the war, like most marines, Leckie began to question his intellect and the things he believed was significant. He assumed that he was becoming to understand and perceive most of the enigmas within reality, until he got to war. The mystery of the universe had once inhabited these lolling lumps, had given each an identity, a way of walking, perhaps a social habit of address or a way with words or a knack of putting color on canvas. They had been so different, then. Now they were nothing, heaps of nothing . (Helmet for My Pillow p 37) When relating to the bullets in and the power of guns, Leckie wondered how many lives are altered and obliterated by a quarter inch of heated metal. Does this force, this mystery, I mean this soul does this spill out on the ground along with the blood? No. It is somewhere, I know it. Another instance is when a Japanese warriors struts from the jungle, his crew men take pot shots at him by torture. Continentalism is a major contributing factor because it can be very threatening for the less powerful country. Continentalism refers to the presence of a global power (e.g., United States) at one s border must be considered a fact of special importance (Hiller 61). This is to say that the more powerful country has influence over the less powerful country. This concept is relevant to my argument about protecting Canada s cultural industries because there has been an increasing level in American and foreign cultural penetration in Canada. Sharing a large border and more importantly a common language with the United States means Canada is in a very difficult position in regard to American culture, with direct attempts at the Canadian market or the general diffusion of American culture in the globalized media arena. Thus the people of Canada are influenced heavily by American culture and are surrounded more by their culture. The Canadian government should regulate cultural industries so we do not lose interest in our own content. The reason the United States Of America celebrates holidays is because the people or events that have in some way affected the whole country in a good way. For example the reason why the United States celebrates Presidents Day is because it is George Washington s birthday and he benefited the country in the best way possible however, there is a holiday where several Americans feel that it should not be celebrated which is Columbus Day. Columbus Day should not be celebrated because Christopher Columbus is not worthy of being commemorated. Christopher Columbus was born in Genoa,Italy in 1451. He had three brothers and one sister along with a dad named Dominico and mom named Susanna. He left his father s wool weaving business to join the Genoese Fleet to sail the Mediterranean Sea. During one of adventures his ship crashed in Portugal but decided to stay there with his little brother and then began working with a mapmaker. In the 15th century Portugal desperately needed to find a faster route to Asia so they can have better trading. Columbus then decided he should be the one to find that new route, but with all the rumors on which direction is fastest he thought he found Asia but it was actually America. In August of 1942 Columbus and his men sailed the ships of The Nina, The Pinta, and The Santa Maria. The first of four trips traveled from Spain all across the Atlantic Ocean. One of the issues Scout doesn t understand is the idea of racism. The Ku Klux Klan was very popular during the time period that the book takes place. Many events that took place in the book could have easily been influenced by the Ku Klux Klan. It also explains the message they depicted against blacks. The Ku Klux Klan originated in Pulaski, Tennessee. The goal of the KKK was to reestablish white supremacy throughout the country. Anyone against blacks could easily be part of the Klan. The government tried to stop the KKK in the early 1800´s, but failed. Its members waged an underground campaign of intimidation and violence directed at white and black Republican leaders. After a period of decline, white Protestant nativist groups revived the Klan in the early 20th century, burning crosses and staging rallies, parades and marches denouncing immigrants, Catholics, Jews, blacks and organized labor. A new study, published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, said that egg yolks are actually better for building muscle after a workout compared to the same amount of egg whites. In the research, 18 young men were given an 18 gram serving of protein from egg yolks or egg whites after they had one weightlifting session. Researchers took the blood samples and muscle biopsies of the 18 to track their muscle protein synthesis. Those who were given the egg yolks registered a 40 percent greater post exercise response in building new muscle than the men given the egg whites. Nicholas Burd, a professor of kinesiology and community health at the University of Illinois, said that research shows more protein is needed in the diet than once thought to maintain health. He observed a lot of stress on protein nutrition in modern society. Burd said that as the world population grows, there is a need for cost effective and sustainable strategies to improve the use of protein in the diet. Nathaniel Hawthorne, without a doubt, uses symbolism throughout the course of the novel, The Scarlet Letter. The novel takes place in a Puritan community in present day Boston. Hester Prynne, Arthur Dimmesdale, Roger Chillingworth, and Pearl are the main characters. They all have major roles and without them, the novel would not be the same. Hester Prynne; married to Roger Chillingworth, had a baby named Pearl out of wedlock with a man named Dimmesdale. Innocent minded children began to think poorly of Hester because of what their parents told them about her. Hester helped the poor, and instead of treating Hester with respect and kindness, they treated her crudely and disrespectfully. Clergymen stop Hester in the streets and use her as a sermon. Puritan women who believe that Hester should have received a harsher punishment, give Hester vulgar gestures and make impolite remarks. In spite of the poor treatment and loneliness, Hester stayed content and just turned the other cheek. She was focused on her needlework and on Pearl. Hester was even limited in her needlework, she could not embroider the white veil in which a bride wears on her wedding day. This is because of the, ever relentless vigor with which society frowned upon her sin (Hawthorne 92). Ironically or perhaps purposefully one of the overarching themes explored within Le Mépris is maintaining artistic integrity, whilst attaining commercial success. Nowhere is this better explored than the famous middle sequence: their extended argument indoors. I aim to analyse this scene s depiction as not only a simple argument between tumultuous lovers, but as it s symbolic exploration of their decaying relationship as a whole, encompassing many of the overarching themes of Le Mépris love, ennui, and of course, contempt. Significant too at the beginning of this scene, is the way the camera follows Lucille and Paul. The majority of the time they are framed in shots alone, only in passing does the frame capture them both. Though they are inhabiting the same space, the choice to capture them separately is very deliberate, highlighting the isolation mounting within their relationship as they start to grow apart; tying into the existential theme that eventually, we all die alone. The vehicle of a failing relationship to depict this existential dread is an apt choice; nowhere more is isolation emphasized than in contrast of it s antithesis: once romantic love, the communion of two souls. Paul seems engrossed with his letters, pacing around the apartment staring at them, never really lifting his eyes to properly meet his wife s gaze. The letters are symbolic of his work his priorities now lie there, and not his wife. As senior experts at the Center for International Forestry (CIFOR), Colfer and her colleague, Byron, argue that traditional forest management was a system rural communities use in upland farming to show ownership of uplands fields, prohibitions and regulations about land and other resource use, and to settle disputes over natural resources. Similar to the traditional forest management, the agroforestry management system is used by the communities in Benuaq Dayak to recognize forest successional stages (Colfer Byron, 2001). These young people, who make up more than half of the population in the country, believe that the administrative justice has failed them. As a result, these young people preferred to take chances with various rebel groups during the civil war (2005). In order to erase these beliefs, a study suggested that a new peacebuilding approach is necessary. This new approach, authors argue, is an inclusive Community driven Development (CDD). Richards and his colleagues (2005) also argue that this process is capable of playing a crucial role in shaping different kinds of societies, provided those societies incorporate marginalized and socially excluded populations in the rebuilding process. This new approach calls for equal participation of all interested parties in the distribution and management of states natural resources. • 33. The Importance Of Still Life Art Food has long been a popular subject in art. For many hundreds of years, people have created beautiful food based artworks that are cherished, even today. The consumption of food is a shared experience as is art. I love this idea, that we can all share art. It s an opportunity to collaborate on ideas and express our creativity and thoughtfulness and it is accessible to all different age groups. This week I interviewed two artists that are noted for their skill in food inspired art to discuss their artwork. These are Still life with silverware and lobster by Pieter Claesz and Still Life: The Food Bowl by Ken and Julia Yonetani. Despite the fact that these works were created four centuries apart, they share many factors and display the essence of still life art. The aim, for me, of this interview is to identify the changes in still life art, will there be any use of modern, emerging technologies in the more modern piece? Or maybe a 3D element? I am thrilled to be able to shed some light on the still life genre that occupied much of my painting. The beauty of still life painting is that it reflects so much of what is going on in the world around it. When this painting was created in 1641, the middle class were gaining prominence. People wanted other people to know how wealthy and cultured they were. This curiosity about our own place in the universe has inspired many ideas and stories that attempt to explain how life could exist on other planets. Scientists at NASA have been discovering evidence that suggests it may be possible for life to exist on another planet within our own solar system. I have always been interested in the mysteries of the universe, and never pass up an opportunity to learn more about it. Now the thickest ice on earth ever recorded is a little over 4 km thick and is located in Antarctica. To give you some perspective, 10 kilometers is about from Citrus College to the 10 freeway, and that s just the minimum thickness, astronomers don t know for sure yet how deep the ice actually is. But how could liquid water exist on a planet so far from the sun? You might be asking yourself, why isn t the moon solid ice, similar to the former planet Pluto? Even though Europa is much further from the sun than Earth, its inner ocean is believed to have warm water, at least warm enough to be liquid. It gets much of its heat due to Jupiter s gravity, pulling the oceans as it makes its orbit and creates friction with the ice and the salt water ocean underneath. This effect is similar to the tides here on Earth. Europa s liquid ocean is estimated to contain about twice the amount of liquid water than all of Earth s oceans. Most of Earth s oceans still remain unexplored, and the life that exists there, undiscovered. Imagine what might exist under an ocean twice that size. Scientists suspect Europa s ocean may have enough oxygen to be able to support life, however, according to NASA in an article published by phys.org, a science news website, the kind of life we may expect to find (if any) would be micro organisms similar to the single celled forms of ... De Bono (1990) defines, Lateral thinking is a set of attitudes, idioms, and techniques for cutting across patterns in a self organizing asymmetric patterning system . He adds that it is helpful in generating new concepts and perceptions. He also claims that Lateral thinking is also concerned with the breaking out of the concept prisons of old ideas and related to insight, creativity, and humour. It is also one of the most sought after approaches by most of the English language facilitators owing to its wide range of general applications. Language itself is the most obvious code system with the words themselves as triggers. Gadd (1998) points out the use of material from De Bono (1970, 1982) are quite common in humanistic language teaching classes. Adair (1988) believes that the intellectual skills such as analyzing, synthesizing, and valuing are required for clear speaking. Similarly, a public speaking tutorial on the internet categorically states that speaking is thinking . Ellin Kofsky Schalnick and William S.Hall (1991) say that language is simply a verbal description of thought. This idea reflects that thought is primary and language just acts as a tool to express or to convey the ideas or concepts in an effective manner. Spada and Lightbown (1993) hold that thinking skills operate effectively when students originally voice their analysis and take part in the learning process occurring in the classroom.
