An above-average analysis will have an engaging introduction with a clear thesis, accurately summarize the main ideas of the original work, use specific examples and evidence to substantively analyze significant aspects, and conclude by restating the thesis and analysis. It will also be well-written and formatted according to MLA style. Average analyses may lack engagement or substantiation, include extraneous details, and have vague conclusions. Below-average work will misrepresent the original or fail to engage with it at all.
