2. At first, I decided to do a wrestling
magazine, because I assumed it
would be easier for me overall
because I know the subject, but after
making my first draft, I decided to go
in another direction.
3. After this decision I started again. I sourced some secondary
images of Marvel’s Daredevil, as this what I wanted to focus on
in my article. After experimenting with some ideas (Crossing out
iconic imagery of the show to reference it being cancelled by
Netflix) I decided that this too wasn’t the right fit for me.
4. After finally deciding on the subject of my magazine I
sourced a secondary image (deviantart.com) to use as
my front cover. This image was of an official poster
posted by The CW, promoting their Five-Part Epic
Crossover ‘Crisis On Infinite Earths'.
5. Next, I added some social media logos and a barcode, to flesh out my
magazine. These images were sourced from Wikipedia (barcode) and
iconarchive.com (social media icons).
6. After that, I then created the title of my product: Monitor Magazine!
7. I then added some more details to
further expand my magazine.
8. This is the completed front cover of my magazine.
All that needs to be done now, is to convert the
photoshop file into a digital magazine.
I then did the same process for my double page
spread. I sourced a secondary image for the cover
(via www.cwtv.com), wrote a short article for the
page and then added my primary image of my
friend Dan posing as a DC fan who is being
interviewed. I used the magic wand tool to erase
the background on my primary image so that the
subject would have the space effect as it's
background instead of the original background
which was plain white.
