Technology And Its Impact On Technology Essay
In today s society, there have been many speculations on the impact of technology. The rise of
technology has unfolded into the betterment of many advances in the industry. However, it is no
surprise that these advances have also caused society into depending so much on technology.
Author Sherry Turkle, argued that we as a society have distanced ourselves from one another; she
discusses her observations drawn from humanbeings and their interaction with social machines. She
indicated that humansrely much more on technology which has negatively impacted the way we
communicate with one another. Every individual has their own flaws. In our imperfections, we
tend to discriminate among one another, we have preconceived notion based on what we have
seen or experienced. Perhaps, there is a say that goes a book should never be judged by its cover
. In addition to, various studies observed by between robots and children, Turkle implies that
robots are slowing replacing humans. As a result of our dependency on technology, humans are
failing each other and the constant rise of technology should not be blame for it, as we do have
control over some of these issues.
In the 1760 1800 s, the first machine age occurred during the industrial revolution. The industrial
revolution was transition from a hand labor to a machine labor. The new machines were powered
by water, steam and coal. The Industrial revolution marked a very profitable time for many factory
owners because, unlike humans

What anatomical structure of the heart produces the lub and dub sounds? The anatomical structure
that makes the lub is the atrium. This is when the atria closes off at the tricuspid and mitral valves
after filling the ventricle. The dub sound is the opposite. This is when the ventricles close off at the
aortic and pulmonary valves. What are Korotkoff sounds? They are the sounds, heard with a
stethoscope, as the pressure from the bloodpressure cuff starts to release. How are Korotkoff
sounds different from the lub dub sounds? The Korotkoff Sounds differ from the lub, dub sounds
because the lub,dub sounds can be heard from any normal ear. Whereas the K sounds need to be
heard by stethoscope. The heartbeat sound has just two

Essay on South Park Satire
Screw you guys, I m going home Ever since 1997, South Park has revolutionized the cable TV
scene as a profane and obscene program that isn t afraid to mock religious, political, and cultural
topics and not get away with at least offending somebody. Throughout its twelve seasons, some of
the most prominent events in pop culture have suffered the wrath of ridicule from the show s
creators, Matt Stone and Trey Parker, and succeeded in making millions of Americans laugh until
they cry. The creative genius behind these cultural and controversial statements has exalted the
series to iconic status in our entertainment industry for its satirical voice in each episode.

This satirical genius has evolved from hilarious adventures of four Colorado kids into an episode a
week of pure cultural parody with race, politics, religion, and pop culture. The series has never
really had much trouble with writing episodes because they leave pop culture do all the writing
for them (Harris). They simply put a humorous twist by making fun of a mistake or ridiculous
subject that is popular in the media or politics at the time. The most talked about religious bashing
from the series came on November 15th, 2005: the Scientologist lampoon, Trapped in the Closet .
The episode featured Tom Cruise and John Travolta locking themselves in a closet after the
suspected prophet of Scientology was not impressed with Tom s theatrical work which lead into a
mockery of the religion and angered scientologists and, more specifically, Cruise.
This episode was scheduled to rebroadcast on March 15, 2006 on Comedy Central, but the airing
was canceled without prior notice, and was replaced with Chef s Chocolate Salty Balls .
Reportedly, the channel directors did not air it to avoid a possible lawsuit against the channel by

Leadership As A Fundamental Learning Tool
Leadership Project Movies identified to the topic of leadership serve as a fundamental learning
tool. When conducting this leadership project the following movies were used: Patch Adams, A
Few Good Men, The Lion King, and The Social Network. After watching the movies each one was
thoroughly analyzed on the type of leadershipstyle portrayed in the film. Many movies contain
characters that exhibit leadership qualities or circumstances that provide insights and can help you
explore some excellent examples of leadership. Based on a true story of Hunter Patch Adams, the
founder of the Gesundheit Clinic, a facility which manages their patients with pathos and humor.
The film begins with Patch admitting himself as a patient in a mental hospital. While there, he
discovered he loved helping the patients and observed the staff to be emotionless and would
separate themselves from the patients. Vowing to change things, he discharges himself from the
facility and went to the Virginia Medical College. His untraditional approaches cast him up against
numerous of the doctors and deans of the college, in spite of him getting some of the highest grades
in his class. Recognizing that numerous underprivileged individuals were not being treated fairly,
as a student he started the Gesundheit Clinic to help the individuals who were not getting
appropriate treatment at the hospital. In any case, this brought him up before the Medical Review

Business Model Analysis On The Management Of The...
For a company to achieve maximum impact on their strategies whether marketing, financial or
expansion the company must understand their business activities. Efficiency in managing
business activities ensures smooth operation for maximum profit (Brinkman, 2). The business
model strategy enhances the management of the enterprise and operational design to conform
to profit making goals by implementing the segmentation of business activities. The research
report will employ the business model canvas to study and perform data analysis on the quickly
growing taxi company Uber Company. Data analysis is the deliberate activity of collecting and
presenting data in a form that highlights useful information that is helpful in decision making
(Boyd, 18). Data analysis can be described as the implied process of taking the whole of the
collected data and identifying trends to determine direction, meaning and implications, in
addition to asking questions about the received data and making comparisons within it to
expand concepts from it (Warner, 13). Travis Kalanick and Garrett Camp founded Uber Company
back in 2009. The company s objective was to come up with a mobile app that was to dominate in
the transportation sector (Reilly Williams 32). The Uber app is known to allow users to make their
trip request over the app, which is also where taxi drivers get routed. By March 2015, this service
was accessible in over 55 nations and over 200 cities all over the world (Hirschey, 19). One of

Marie Sophie Germain was born in Rue Saint Denis, Paris, France, on April 1, 1776, in a wealthy
Persian family. Ambroise Francois, her father, was a rich man who was assumed to be a wealthy
silk merchant, or a goldsmith. Ambroise was elected as the representative of the bourgeoisie to
Etats GГ©nГ©raux en 1789, which had involved his daughter to witness many discussions with
her father and his peers. When she was 13, The French Revolution broke out. Enforcing her to

of Fermat s Last Theorem, that has been a struggle for mathematicians for the past 200 years. That
if xn + yn = zn, then neither x, y, nor z can be a natural number if n is greater than 2, stated from
Fermat s Last Theorem (Barrow Green). Germain used her proficiency on prime numbers to help
to prove this theorem. Successful from her work, she published her deeds in a supplement to her

She continued her work and published her deeds on the curvature of elastic surfaces and also
published principles of examination that later led to the discovery of the laws of equilibrium and
the movement of elastic solids. (Famous Mathematicians Sophie Germain) In addition, one of her

Time Management, Leadership Handbook
Time Management
Before analyzing time management need to know how time is currently being used. Two
questions to ask: First, the amount of time I have? Secondly, how is my time being used? The
first question is easier to answer as most people work eight hours day that may vary times and
locations depending on type of work. The second question can be more challenging to identify
where time is being used. For example, is most of one s time speaking on the phone, answering e
mails, writing reports, or waiting for others to finish their job before starting their task? To assist
with identifying these it is recommended to keep a time log that details where the hours in the
workday are used. Below is a sample of a time log that can be used ... Show more content on

Some common time wasters are: doing a wrong task, underestimating the time it takes to do a task,
not delegating tasks appropriately, delaying/procrastinating, and letting conversations go too long.
Improving Time Management Habits
We know time is very valuable and there is a lot to be done in limited hours. The first exercise
discussed above involved using a time log and identifying how time is currently being used. Once
certain tasks are identified as time wasters, there are three steps one can do to improve his or her
time management: 1. Controlling environment, which includes physical items surrounding as well
as mental environment with things we watch and think about. 2. Using technology when practical
to be more efficient. For example, e mail allows responding to many more people at once than
phone or mailing; however, it can be less personable and have less of a response than other
communication methods. 3. Avoid time stealers, which include time wasters, television, and social
networking websites. While some jobs can benefit from social networking, majority of the time
people find time passing by when utilizing social media.
Finally, managing paperwork is another area where time management habits can be improved.
One tip is to not keep any hard copies of digital documents such as pdf s and e mails. Since these
are readily accessible and backed up in cloud computing, it is unnecessary to keep

A Great Experiment Of Culture Transplant Cross culture management, Prof. Alfred Kieser XiaoJun
Ma Culture is a set of basic assumptions, which shared solutions to universal problems of external
adaptations and internal integration which have evolved over time and are handed from one
generation to the next. This is a general definition of culture. Actually there are many definitions
exist, some concentrated on values, others on shared patterns of behaviors and meaning. And what
we are going to talk about is the problems of transplanting practices, from one culture into another.

But usually, this failure is credited to lack of understanding about the strong role of culture and the
role it plays in organizations, not because the culture does not play an important role in corporations.
Actually this is one of the reasons why that many strategic planners now place as much emphasis on
identifying strategic values as they affect strategy mission and vision. The facts of logic of
industrialization, technology, striving for efficiency have risen the argument that whether
organizations should be culture free or not. Too much consideration of culture in an organization
could reduce efficiency of the organizations. And it seems like the industrialization and technology
development have put the culture problems aside, the conflicts caused by culture different could be
ignored in this case. But is this the real situation? First of all, culture affects the beliefs and values
of people, and also, it decides the behavior of people, the information gathering method and
communication type, decision making and so on, which are all critical in running business. So
organizations are actually culture bound in spite of pressures for convergence of the facts of
industrialization, globalization and so on. Practices that are transferred to another culture will take
on characteristics of the new environment. The environment will select a part of the new culture
which is better than

Lewis Mcgrath s Shannon And Apuleius The Golden Ass
A common theme found in both, Campbell McGrath s Shannon and Apuleius The Golden Ass, is
facing the consequences for venturing into the unknown. George Shannon and Lucius come face to
face with unique obstacles, for instance George s narrative long struggle to acquire any form of
comestible sustenance or Lucius being faced with the seemingly immoral task to murder a woman
by having sexual intercourse with her when he is in donkey form, that they must overcome. They
used their pride and determination, allowing them to trek onward in their paths. The men s
situations differ in the way that George is traveling into the uncharted area of the United States with
the Corps of Discovery and Lucius has an absurd fetish for the unusual and unknown. Both men
experience pitfalls to each of their own degrees, however, pass with time as the stories go on. The
men of both narratives experience crises, conjure up coping mechanisms to allow them to adapt
briefly with their situations, and experience success and failures with their methods.
George Shannon s venture into the unknown with these more experienced men proves to be quite
the challenge when he separates from the group. These men were more experienced in a way
that they were seasoned army veterans with great survival knowledge and tactics. George was on
his own for fifteen days in attempt to impress his fellow explorers, without food, a way to hunt, or
any sense of direction of where he is going to get back to the group. In the

taxi ward for a ride to the Sunshine cruise liner. It will be en route from San Francisco, California

In reality, he is a low class, paycheck to paycheck, average built, six ft. 2in. dark haired, ordinary,

Relationship Between Love And Romantic Relationships Essay
Love Romantic Relationships According to the dictionary , the word relationship is defined a
particular type of connection existing between people related to or having dealing with each other.
There are many times of ways to make a relationship last. According to the dictionary love is an
intense feeling of deep affection. Love, trust, and communication are the three most important
attributes in my eyes. Relationships between friends, family, and couples should be the lasting
ones, and in this paper, I will Incorporate different theoretical perspectives , Discuss the role of
social structure, government policy, and social inequality in love and romantic relationships and
lastly analyze media presentations of families. First, no matter what type of relationship you are in,
love is definitely an essential. There are many kinds of love, but most people seek its expression in
a romantic relationship with a compatible partner. For some, romantic relationships are the most
meaningful element in their lives, providing a source of an intense deep fulfillment. The ability to
have a healthy, loving relationship is not innate. A great deal of evidence suggests that the ability to
form a stable relationship begins in infancy, in a child s earliest experiences with their parents who
reliably meets the infant s needs for food, care, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Those
relationships are not destiny, but they appear to establish patterns of relating to others.

Causes and Effects of the Civil War Essay
Did you know America s bloodiest battle fought on their own soil was the Civil War? The Civil
War was fought on American soil between the northern states and the southern states. Many causes
provoked the war, which would affect the nation for decades to come. Slavery, the Missouri
Compromise, and John Brown s attack on Harpers Ferry, Virginia, were some of the many causes.
In turn hundreds of thousands of soldiers died, the South s economy was devastated, and the
northern ideals flourished.
In the later 1700 s to 1863, slavery was an intricate part of the South. Slaves were needed for

The Missouri Compromise stated Missouri would be a slave state and Maine would be carved out
of Massachusetts and created into a non slave state. The Missouri Compromise really angered the
North, contributing to the Civil War.
In May of 1856, Congressman Preston Brooks of South Carolina entered the nearly empty senate
chamber and beat Massachusetts Senator Charles Sumner with a cane. Brooks felt violated by
Sumner s Crime Against Kansas speech, which provoked the retaliation. This attack spread the
idea that violence might be able to solve the problem of slavery. In October 1859, abolitionist
John Brown, led a violent attack. He and his band of 21 men and attacked the federal arsenal at
Harpers Ferry, Virginia. They hoped to spark a slave rebellion that would end slavery, and in John
Brown s words, purge this land with blood. Brown s attack was one of the final causes that sparked
the Civil War.
When the Civil War finally concluded, thousands of American soldiers died fighting for what they
believed in. The Confederate army lost a total of 258,000 soldiers and the Union army lost 360,000
soldiers. The loss of so many people immensely harmed the nation mentally and economically.

were farmers in the South, which devastated the South s economy because these farmers were also

The Pros And Cons Of Child Labor
Before the 20th century, child labor was common and expected in poorer households. Child
labor wasn t made illegal in the US until 1938. Following the Fair Labor Standards Act, illegal
child labor includes minors under sixteen, working dangerous jobs, and are only allotted a
certain amount of hours. Children under sixteen can work if it is a family business and not a

The stigma towards HIV positive African American women also exists within their own
communities; unfortunately, this stigma towards these women does not encourage them to come
out as HIV positive individuals. The problem with this fear is that it not only worsens the anguish
for the sick individual, but also puts the people around the individual at risk. In Social Context of
Rural Women with HIV/AIDS, authors Kenneth D. Phillips, Linda Moneyham, Sandra P. Thomas,
Mary Gunther, Medha Vyavaharkar discuss the significance of the stigma felt by HIV positive
women; the authors point out that the existing stigma causes these women to live in secret (2011).
In order to keep their illness hidden, they would have to be maintain some form of normalcy with
the people around them. Societal stigma plays an important role in the occurrence of HIV; it can
be studied by examining the results of stigma reduction in African American communities (Loutfy
et al, 2015). HIV stigma reduction is difficult when dealing with African American women
because the stigma of sexism and racism cannot be ignored. One of the other effects of stigma is
depression (Logie, James, Tharao, Loutfy, 2012). In a multi method community based research

discriminated for a long period of time and now, many athletes are taking a stand to show its
physically and morally wrong and occurs in past history, sports, and even the police force.
Discrimination is is immoral tell this day and is still a horrifying act. Slavery has occurred from
1864 and before and is still here today. Although it may be illegal, many people terrorize African
Americans tell this day. Many southern Americans fought for slavery in the Civil War but failed
to fulfill their destiny. Many African Americans were beaten, slaved , lived in harsh places, and
treated poorly. Many were starved and beaten to death and were traded like candy all over. Now,
most people feel that it is immoral to do so and realise that is wrong to take advantage of the Negro
race. Today, only a few people conduct slavery by kidnapping people and use them to for their
slave. People still fight for southern morals from the 1800 s and even protest for it, but from the
1800 s to now, slavery has decreased greatly and is still being fought to support black rights.... Show

Agar Jelly Lab Report
4. EVALUATION AND CONCLUSION
CONCLUSION
The data did support my hypothesis as stating that the larger a cell is, the harder it is for
diffusion to take place as the surface area to volume ratio decreases throughout evidence
supported. There is a pattern in table 5 shows that, the surface area to volume ratio decreases when
the agar jelly increases in size from 1cm to 3cm cube by a ratio of 6 to a ratio of 2, showing that
average rate of diffusion which decreases as the size of the agar increases has a linkage to cells as
cells increase in sizes. If a cell grows beyond a certain size, materials will not be able to pass
through the membrane fast enough to accommodate the inside of the cell. So when the cell reaches
a size too large, it will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Firstly to make sure that the agar blocks are accurately enough, we could use a tri square ( 90
degree ruler ) to measure the 90 degrees angles of a cube to make sure that the cubes are sliced
or cut correctly. Secondly to make sure that the mixture could be stirred well, we could use a
magnetic stirrer so that the string of the mixture is passive and those not fluctuate and increasing
the accuracy for the experiment. Lastly, it is to also time the time that the agar is completely
diffused by the sulphuric acid which could be used as a comparison between the time took to
change the agar phenolphthalein cubes to become completely clear which could increase the
arguments for cell size increasing decreases the rate of diffusion. The amount of data was enough

The Turkish Bath And Jean Auguste Dominque Ingres
The concept of the gaze in visual culture can take many forms, but generally it deals with the way
in which people look at objects or subjects consciously and unconsciously. This idea can operate
through the media, artwork or by simply just looking at another person. However, there has always
been a sense of bias in relation to how both men and women are depicted in art. Jean Auguste
Dominque Ingres The Turkish Bath (1852 1863 illustrates the male gazeand the presentation of
women in a Turkish bathhouse in the 19th century whereas Sylvia Sleigh s At the Turkish Bath
(1976) conveys an interpretation of the femalegaze with a reimagined version of Ingres painting of
the same name but uses men as the subjects in the 20th century. This essay will therefore discuss
the manner in which the gendered gaze functions within Jean Auguste Dominque Ingres The
Turkish Bath (1852 1863) in comparison to Sylvia Sleigh s At the Turkish Bath (1976).
In The Turkish Bath by Ingres, the image portrayed is one of the artist s most famous works and
is intended for a male spectator. In the painting, a large group of naked women are lounging in an
oriental setting of a Turkish harem, they are displayed in sensual positions which inflict a sense of
erotica. To the right, women are seen caressing each other intimately as they look to the left towards
someone not seen in the painting. Behind them, a woman is sat comfortably with her arms loosely
crossed together whilst another does her

The Pros And Cons Of Drug Trafficking
Drug trafficking, a multi billion dollar global business, is of growing concern to almost all
countries around the world. To be specific, it has been a concern to all governments, as part of
their job is the protection of the citizens. With the interference of drugs, it is not helping because it
leads to many diseases, crimes and the death of many people. Drugtrafficking is mainly the global
illicit trade involving the cultivation, manufacture, distribution and sale of substances which are
subject to drug prohibition laws; and illegal drug tradewhich is considered a global black market.
UNODC is continuously monitoring and researching global illicit drug markets in order to gain a
much more comprehensive perception. From about 40 years ago the world declared war on drugs,
but they couldn t put an end to drug trafficking. Violent drug traffickers will stop at nothing to
preserve their power. In order to put an end to it, all countries need to unite together and start...

the drug buyers compare between the amount of money they used to pay on drugs and the

Outline Of Recommendation For Change
3.1 Overview of Recommendation for Change As mentioned throughout the previous section,
Target has a very comprehensive CSR program that covers most areas under this field. Because
of this, there is little for the company to do in regards to starting any new divisions within their
CSR efforts; therefore, I believe it would be most beneficial to fine tune some of its programs to
align with the company s customer base more closely. Additionally, I believe some of Target s
current CSR efforts are rather broad and the company could benefit by really specializing within
some of the areas and establishing goals moving forward. Finally, although Target seems to
emphasize its dedication to supporting the community and collaborating with other organization,
there seems to be a disconnect between this and some of the company s actions. 3.2 Aligning
Company s CSR Efforts with Customer Base Target recently released its third quarter financial
statements for 2016, where the company recorded a 11% increase in EPS over last year. CEO
Brian Cornell credited much of this growth to its strong back to school shopping sales. He went on
to say that Target has invested much effort in differentiating themselves from other competitors like
Walmart by offering a more family focused selection, particularly with children s apparel and
educational toys. While it seems that this strategy is currently paying off for Target from its recent
financial results, I believe Target could benefit even more

Comprehensive Immigration Reform And The United States
Comprehensive immigration reform has been a pressing issue in the United States (U.S.) for
decades. Immigration reform was one of the major platforms the President used to campaign and
draw an unprecedented amount of Latino support. Six years after those promises were made,
Congress and the President continue to disagree about the methodology and necessary framework
for such reform. Each has proposed different approaches to solving immigration. Conservatives
have pushed for stricter enforcement of current immigration laws as well increased deportations
without exceptions. The President and his fellow Democrats have aimed for an immigration theory
that can appeal to humanitarian and economic perspectives.
Within the last decade, the focus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To fully understand why immigration reform is such a highly contested measure, it bears
analyzing current laws and previous reform attempts. Part of the reason why immigration reform
has been so difficult to achieve is due to the vast number of current laws and regulations. Currently
the U.S. has many different classifications for incoming immigrants and varying quotas. Incoming
documented immigrants are classified in four ways: family based immigration, economic
immigration, refugees and asylum seekers, and diversity immigrants. There is an annual limit of
675,000 permanent immigrants worldwide, with Congress and the President setting limits for
refugee seekers (Immigration Policy Center). Family sponsored visas are limited to 226,000
visas per year. Family immigration allows citizens and permanent residents to sponsor family
members, spouses, unmarried minor children and parents, for visas, under qualifying conditions.
There is also preference given to the adult children and siblings of citizens and the spouses and
unmarried children of permanent residents (Immigration Policy Center). In the search for
workers, the U.S. allows workers to immigrate for a temporary or permanent basis. Workers are
divided into categories and the majority are for highly skilled workers, who are sponsored by an
employer.

Tulips By Sylvia Plath Essay
More than what Meets the Eye When a loved one is sick or in the hospital the first thought for
most is to bring them flowers. However in this case flowers, especially tulips, are probably the
worst thing that a loved one could bring. The poem Tulips by Sylvia Plath was written in the year
of 1916, just after the ending of the postmodern era of literature. The poem tells the tale of a
women that is admitted into the hospital after being diagnosed with a very serious illness. Plath
takes readers on a journey that showcases the hardships and struggles that a patient is forced to face
in their everyday lives. Throughout the poem, the speaker talks about her feelings towards having
to stay in the hospital and how she feels that her independence... Show more content on

Similes are used quite frequently throughout the poem to make this message very clear: Before
they came the air was clam enough, coming and going/ without any fuss. Then the tulips filled it
up like a loud noise (49 52). This quote is a prime example of how much of a taunt the tulips are to
the patient. The first half of the quote refers to how the reader felt before the tulips were in her
hospital room and how the patient was in a better mental state because there was no constant
reminder of everything that her illness has made her sacrifice. The loud noise that the speaker is
referring to are her thoughts, before the tulips were in the room they did not think much about their
previous life, their mindset was more in the moment. However, ever since the tulips have been near
her mind is full of thoughts referring to how much everything has changed, specifically how much
she has changed and she cannot get these thoughts out of her head. This quote opens the
opportunity to the fact that along with being physically ill, the patient has started to become
mentally ill as well due to the fact that they have been surrounded by things that trigger bad
memories. This example relates to the overall theme of the poem because it shows the mental
struggles that the speaker has developed throughout the duration of their stay in the hospital.
Similes are also used to show the readers fear: The tulips should be behind bars like dangerous
animals (56). This quote shows that the speaker recognizes what her illness is doing to her mental
health and how being reminded about their past only makes them sad. Calling something dangerous
shows that the object has the advantage for inflict pain onto something, this directly connects to the
feelings that the tulips provide the reader with. Comparing the tulips to dangerous

used to diagnose PCOS. At least two of the following three criteria must be present before a
diagnosis can be made: oligo/anovulation, hyperandrogenism, and the presence of polycystic

Women with PCOS exhibit high LH levels and thereby have elevated production of androgens by
theca cells. Hyperandrogenism can, in turn, suppress FSH production, leading to ovarian
dysfunction, anovulation and infertility. The prevalence of PCOS in women with RPL runs as high
as 56% 79,80,81. Obesity coupled with high LH levels can hinder ovarian folliculogenesis and
increase the risk of miscarriage. Studies have also suggested an association among PCOS and
hyperinsulinemia/insulin resistance, obesity, and hyperhomocysteinemia. Hyperinsulinemia and
insulin resistance can negatively affect implantation by decreasing activity of cell adhesion

Optical Fiber Essay
Optical fiber cables and connectors are a very essential part of the infrastructure in the world
today. Because of the many advantages the optical fiber cables and connectors have over the old
age traditional coaxial cables that were used in the olden days, fiber cables have outdone the
performance the communications industry has ever reached in the past.
Optical fiber cable is a cable that contains one or more than one optical fibers. These fibers carry
data and information signal in the form of light in them. The indivisual wires in the cable is
coated with layers of plastic and are covered inside plastic tubes in order to save the cables from

OPTICAL FIBER CABLES:
DESIGN:
The basic optical fiber cable consists of a core and a cladding and the refractive indices of the
two differ. A substance called Polyimide is coated on the cladding of the fiber which doesn t let
the fiber get damaged. Fibers which are bundled together are given a tough resin buffer layer and
core tubes extruded around them to the cable core. Many covering layers are also added to the
fiber depending upon the application of the fiber. Sometimes, light prohibiting dark glasses are
also used between fibers so that light from one fiber doesn t leak and enter another fiber and cause
distortion. This also helps in reducing cross talk.
For fibers which are meant to be used indoors, the fiber is usually jacketed and enclosed in a
flexible strength member in a lightweight plastic tube to form a simple cable.
If the cable is meant to be used in an environment in which the fiber can be subjected to stress and
strain, the cable construction must be strong and healthy. When the loose tube construction is used,
semi rigid tubes are used, and they are laid helically into them. This is done so that the fiber gets
space to stretch without causing tension in the cable itself. This way

Two metanarratives are seen in the Chronicles; the importance and redemption of repentance, and
the reoccurring theme throughout the old testament, exile and return. David is the model for

History of the Telegraph Essay
The electric telegraph is a now outdated communication system that was used to transmit electric
signals over wires from location to location that translated into a message by people at stations.
The non electric telegraph was invented by Claude Chappe in 1794. This system was visual and
used a semaphore, an alphabet based on flag language, and depended on a line of sight for
communication. This optical telegraph was replaced by the electric telegraph, eventually.
In 1809, a crude telegraph was invented in Bavaria by Samuel Soemmering. He used 35 wires
with gold electrodes in water and at the receiving end 2000 feet the message was read by the
amount of gas caused by electrolysis. In 1828, the first telegraph in the USA. was ... Show more

However, it was Samuel Morse that would go down in history for bettering Joseph Henry s
invention. Samuel made sketches of a magnetized magnet based on Henry s work. He then went on
to invent a telegraph system that was a practical and commercial success.
Samuel Morse
While he was a professor of arts and design at the New York University in 1835, Samuel Morse
proved that signals could be transmitted by wire. He used impulses of electrical current to deflect
an electromagnet, which moved a marker to produce written codes on a strip of paper thus the
invention of Morse Code. The following year, the device was modified to emboss the paper with
dots and dashes. Samuel gave a public demonstration in 1838, but it was not until five years later
that the Congress funded $30,000 to construct an experimental telegraph line from Washington to
Baltimore, a distance of 40 miles.
Six years later, members of Congress witnessed the sending and receiving of messages over part of
the telegraph line. Before the line had reached Baltimore, the Whig party held its national
convention there, and on May 1, 1844, nominated Henry Clay. This news was hand carried to
Annapolis Junction (between Washington and Baltimore) where Samuel s partner, Alfred Vail,
wired it to the Capitol. This was the first news dispatched by electric telegraph.

was working as a projection and sound technician for a major cinema exhibitor during this shift, so
I have some insight into the similarities and differences in the two technologies. Though I enjoy
servicing film projectors more than digital projectors and I have nostalgic feelings about analogue
film in general, it is clear that the digital projection platform is far more versatile and has more
potential for being improved even further in the future. Digital and film projection actually have a
few things in common. Firstly, the majority of both... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Modern digital projection technology only relatively recently surpassed 35mm film in terms of
subjective image quality perception. Whether or not digital image quality has surpassed 70mm
film is still debatable. on the other hand, with film projection, the image is physically developed
on film and there is no resolution, or you can say the resolution is infinite. It s like trying to
describe a perfect circle by describing it with squares or straight lines. So, the quality of film
images depends on the process used capture, develop, and duplicate the original image. An
advantage of digital over film is that the projected image will always be the same across all
digital projection systems. Since every digital projector is fed the exact same pixel data, the
position and color of the pixels in relationship to one another will be consistent. With film
projection, the image is physically developed on film, so there are greater variations in image
and color from one print to the next. Typically, this difference is negligible and not even
noticeable, but there are differences. The way the projected image is produced on each platform
differs as well. Digital projection is essentially individual 1 s and 0 s, strung together in binary
code on a hard drive, that gets interpreted by a computer into pixel data which is sent to either
three DMD chips (DLP) or SXRD panels (Sony digital). Each of the three chips/panels handles one

The Importance Of Web Application
A single page application (SPA) as name suggest is a web application which will fit in a single
web page and acts as a source for rest of the application. Various end user interactions are possible
via HTML, CSS, JavaScript. For most of the part, development happens on the front end in
comparison to traditional web applications which depend heavily on server side interactions to
reload new web pagecontent. SPA just keeps all the data and the associated business logic in the
front end i.e. it works with local storage of browser. Server side interactions are somewhat limited.
These interactions are performed for requesting any information via API s present in server side of
application.

It provides resources different websites connected to Internet.
Web applications use HTTP protocol in order to communicate between client and server. It uses
different methods such as GET, POST, PUT, DELETE. These request methods are important
concepts to be understood as they allow application to request resources from client. These methods
are discussed briefly below:
a.GET
In GET method application request resources using Request URI. URI is a combination of URL
i.e. Uniform Resource Locator URN i.e. Uniform Resource Name.
b.POST
In POST method, data is enclosed in message body and server handles request based on Request
URI.
c.PUT
PUT method stores the data in the message body of Request URI.
d.DELETE
DELETE method deletes a resource from server identified by Request URI. 2. DOM
The Document Object Model (DOM) is an interface between HTML and XML documents. It
consists of nodes and objects arranged in logical sequence to form any HTML webpage. It defines
parent child relationship between various elements. It also provides access to Javascript for
manipulating the document structure and content.
3. XMLHttpRequest
It is an API which helps in communication between client and server to access resources even after
web page is completely loaded in browser. It allows to update web page without reloading it
completely.

Comparing Franco Zeffirelli And Baz Luhrmann s Film
Compare Contrast Essay The Franco Zeffirelli (1968) and Baz Luhrmann (1996) films about the
Shakespeare play, Romeo and Juliet, were both fairly good movies and I enjoyed watching both
of them. While the Baz Luhrmann film was a fresh spin on the classic story, the Franco
Zeffirelli film Romeo and Juliet was overall better than the 1996 Baz Luhrmann film
Romeo+Juliet. Romeo+Juliet was a good idea in theory but in execution was a big mistake.
When they used the language from the play and not updating it to modern day language was a
big mistake by the directors and it kind of ruined the movie for me. The part of the movie leading
up to the climax was just a blur of images and if you didn t read the play or watch the 1968 film

3.When leading up to the climax there was a blur of images that were very hard to follow. At the
climax Juliet is somewhat awake and is moving around but Romeo doesn t notice and starts to
drink the poison anyway. Juliet wakes up the very second the poison touches Romeo s lips and
it s about the worst scene i ve ever seen in a movie. The very last part of the climax is where ,in
the play, Romeo dies and then Juliet stabs herself. But in this version, Juliet uses Romeo s gun, or
dagger , to shoot herself in the head which was maybe the most unsettling part of the hole movie.
There are two problems with this moment. First, when Juliet shoots herself there s no blood or
gunshot wound or anything. Second, when Juliet dies she lads on the floor but in the very next
scene she s hugging Romeo and no one has moved her since she got shot so it makes no

Celebrity Culture And Its Impact On Society
The media has been around since the invention of the printing press in the 1400s. It became easier
for information to spread all over Europe and then the world as the printing press spread to different
parts of the world. The media began to change as new inventions televisions, radios, and computers
were introduced to the general population. A different kind of culture was introduced to the world
in the United States: celebrity culture. Celebrity culture is the general public passion with celebrity
that grew in the country with the invention of motion pictures and the foundation of Hollywood.
Our version of celebrity culture has changed since the invention of the internet and several social
media sites such as Facebook and YouTube. The

To David Cox, writer of Celebrity Culture Is Natural and Can be Beneficial, the culture can help
...teenagers become more independent from their parents and makes them more popular (Cox 4).
People sometimes even look up to them as being perfect for having the good lifestyle. In Kirsty
Fairclough s Celebrity, Youth Culture and The Question of Role Models, she said that teenagers
are likely to connect with [celebrities] that they feel best represent them as well as those that do
not (Fairclough). And they also can get teenagers interested in politics. David Cox presented an
American study that suggests that 80% of [Americans] had discussed the political views of
celebrities with friends (Cox 5). Another example of how celebrities are changing is Tina Feyand
the 2008 Presidential Election. Tina Fey impersonated Sarah Palin on Saturday Night Live (SNL)
during the 2008 Presidential Election and had a small effect on the election, according to The Fey
Effect: Young Adults, Political Humor, and Perceptions of Sarah Palin in the 2008 Presidential
Election Campaign. The authors suggest that the performance is associated with changes in
attitudes toward her selection as VP candidate and presidential vote intentions (Baumgartner et al.,
2012). Those celebrities are proven to have a positive influence in everyday lives, but some of them
could be negative enough. Often enough, people would

The facts of logic of industrialization, technology, striving for efficiency have risen the argument that whether organizations should be culture free or not. Too much consideration of culture in an organization could reduce efficiency of the organizations. Both men experience pitfalls to each of their own degrees, however, pass with time as the stories go on. The men of both narratives experience crises, conjure up coping mechanisms to allow them to adapt briefly with their situations, and experience success and failures with their methods. HIV is a human immunodeficiency virus that is believed to have originated in Africa during the 1920 s, however, it did not spread to other continents until the 1980 s. According to the center for disease control and prevention, HIVis most prevalent in African American communities. Unfortunately, it appears that the HIV virus is increasingly affecting African Americanwomen with a low SES status. The stigma towards HIV positive African American women also exists within their own communities; unfortunately, this stigma towards these women does not encourage them to come out as HIV positive individuals. The problem with this fear is that it not only worsens the anguish for the sick individual, but also puts the people around the individual at risk. In Social Context of Rural Women with HIV/AIDS, authors Kenneth D. Phillips, Linda Moneyham, Sandra P. Thomas, Mary Gunther, Medha Vyavaharkar discuss the significance of the stigma felt by HIV positive women; the authors point out that the existing stigma causes these women to live in secret (2011). In order to keep their illness hidden, they would have to be maintain some form of normalcy with the people around them. Societal stigma plays an important role in the occurrence of HIV; it can be studied by examining the results of stigma reduction in African American communities (Loutfy et al, 2015). HIV stigma reduction is difficult when dealing with African American women because the stigma of sexism and racism cannot be ignored. One of the other effects of stigma is depression (Logie, James, Tharao, Loutfy, 2012). In a multi method community based research (CBR) study with Women s Health in Women s Hands (WLWH) across Ontario, researchers also found that other forms of stigma like race and gender do correlate with the stigma felt by HIV positive African American women ... EVALUATION AND CONCLUSION CONCLUSION The data did support my hypothesis as stating that the larger a cell is, the harder it is for diffusion to take place as the surface area to volume ratio decreases throughout evidence supported. There is a pattern in table 5 shows that, the surface area to volume ratio decreases when the agar jelly increases in size from 1cm to 3cm cube by a ratio of 6 to a ratio of 2, showing that average rate of diffusion which decreases as the size of the agar increases has a linkage to cells as cells increase in sizes. • 25. The Turkish Bath And Jean Auguste Dominque Ingres The concept of the gaze in visual culture can take many forms, but generally it deals with the way in which people look at objects or subjects consciously and unconsciously. This idea can operate through the media, artwork or by simply just looking at another person. However, there has always been a sense of bias in relation to how both men and women are depicted in art. Jean Auguste Dominque Ingres The Turkish Bath (1852 1863 illustrates the male gazeand the presentation of women in a Turkish bathhouse in the 19th century whereas Sylvia Sleigh s At the Turkish Bath (1976) conveys an interpretation of the femalegaze with a reimagined version of Ingres painting of the same name but uses men as the subjects in the 20th century. This essay will therefore discuss the manner in which the gendered gaze functions within Jean Auguste Dominque Ingres The Turkish Bath (1852 1863) in comparison to Sylvia Sleigh s At the Turkish Bath (1976). In The Turkish Bath by Ingres, the image portrayed is one of the artist s most famous works and is intended for a male spectator. In the painting, a large group of naked women are lounging in an oriental setting of a Turkish harem, they are displayed in sensual positions which inflict a sense of erotica. To the right, women are seen caressing each other intimately as they look to the left towards someone not seen in the painting. Because of this, there is little for the company to do in regards to starting any new divisions within their CSR efforts; therefore, I believe it would be most beneficial to fine tune some of its programs to align with the company s customer base more closely. Additionally, I believe some of Target s current CSR efforts are rather broad and the company could benefit by really specializing within some of the areas and establishing goals moving forward. Finally, although Target seems to emphasize its dedication to supporting the community and collaborating with other organization, there seems to be a disconnect between this and some of the company s actions. 3.2 Aligning Company s CSR Efforts with Customer Base Target recently released its third quarter financial statements for 2016, where the company recorded a 11% increase in EPS over last year. However in this case flowers, especially tulips, are probably the worst thing that a loved one could bring. The poem Tulips by Sylvia Plath was written in the year of 1916, just after the ending of the postmodern era of literature. The poem tells the tale of a women that is admitted into the hospital after being diagnosed with a very serious illness. Plath takes readers on a journey that showcases the hardships and struggles that a patient is forced to face in their everyday lives. Similes are used quite frequently throughout the poem to make this message very clear: Before they came the air was clam enough, coming and going/ without any fuss. Then the tulips filled it up like a loud noise (49 52). This quote is a prime example of how much of a taunt the tulips are to the patient. The first half of the quote refers to how the reader felt before the tulips were in her hospital room and how the patient was in a better mental state because there was no constant reminder of everything that her illness has made her sacrifice. The loud noise that the speaker is referring to are her thoughts, before the tulips were in the room they did not think much about their previous life, their mindset was more in the moment. However, ever since the tulips have been near her mind is full of thoughts referring to how much everything has changed, specifically how much she has changed and she cannot get these thoughts out of her head. This quote opens the opportunity to the fact that along with being physically ill, the patient has started to become mentally ill as well due to the fact that they have been surrounded by things that trigger bad memories. This example relates to the overall theme of the poem because it shows the mental struggles that the speaker has developed throughout the duration of their stay in the hospital. Similes are also used to show the readers fear: The tulips should be behind bars like dangerous animals (56). This quote shows that the speaker recognizes what her illness is doing to her mental health and how being reminded about their past only makes them sad. Fibers which are bundled together are given a tough resin buffer layer and core tubes extruded around them to the cable core. • 44. Digital Vs. Digital Projection Recently in the world of cinema, there has been a great shift from the analogue format of film to digital projection. There are many who suggest that one format might be better than the other. I was working as a projection and sound technician for a major cinema exhibitor during this shift, so I have some insight into the similarities and differences in the two technologies. Though I enjoy servicing film projectors more than digital projectors and I have nostalgic feelings about analogue film in general, it is clear that the digital projection platform is far more versatile and has more potential for being improved even further in the future. Digital and film projection actually have a few things in common. Firstly, the majority of both... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Modern digital projection technology only relatively recently surpassed 35mm film in terms of subjective image quality perception. Whether or not digital image quality has surpassed 70mm film is still debatable. on the other hand, with film projection, the image is physically developed on film and there is no resolution, or you can say the resolution is infinite. It s like trying to describe a perfect circle by describing it with squares or straight lines. So, the quality of film images depends on the process used capture, develop, and duplicate the original image. An advantage of digital over film is that the projected image will always be the same across all digital projection systems. Since every digital projector is fed the exact same pixel data, the position and color of the pixels in relationship to one another will be consistent. With film projection, the image is physically developed on film, so there are greater variations in image and color from one print to the next. Typically, this difference is negligible and not even noticeable, but there are differences. The way the projected image is produced on each platform differs as well. Digital projection is essentially individual 1 s and 0 s, strung together in binary code on a hard drive, that gets interpreted by a computer into pixel data which is sent to either three DMD chips (DLP) or SXRD panels (Sony digital). Each of the three chips/panels handles one color, red, green, and blue ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. The Importance Of Web Application A single page application (SPA) as name suggest is a web application which will fit in a single web page and acts as a source for rest of the application. Various end user interactions are possible via HTML, CSS, JavaScript. For most of the part, development happens on the front end in comparison to traditional web applications which depend heavily on server side interactions to reload new web pagecontent. SPA just keeps all the data and the associated business logic in the front end i.e. it works with local storage of browser. Server side interactions are somewhat limited. These interactions are performed for requesting any information via API s present in server side of application. Single Page Web Applications follows 3 tier model.... These methods are discussed briefly below: a.GET In GET method application request resources using Request URI. URI is a combination of URL i.e. Uniform Resource Locator URN i.e. Uniform Resource Name. b.POST In POST method, data is enclosed in message body and server handles request based on Request URI. c.PUT PUT method stores the data in the message body of Request URI. d.DELETE DELETE method deletes a resource from server identified by Request URI. 2. DOM The Document Object Model (DOM) is an interface between HTML and XML documents. It consists of nodes and objects arranged in logical sequence to form any HTML webpage. It defines parent child relationship between various elements. It also provides access to Javascript for manipulating the document structure and content. 3. • 47. Comparing Franco Zeffirelli And Baz Luhrmann s Film Compare Contrast Essay The Franco Zeffirelli (1968) and Baz Luhrmann (1996) films about the Shakespeare play, Romeo and Juliet, were both fairly good movies and I enjoyed watching both of them. While the Baz Luhrmann film was a fresh spin on the classic story, the Franco Zeffirelli film Romeo and Juliet was overall better than the 1996 Baz Luhrmann film Romeo+Juliet. Romeo+Juliet was a good idea in theory but in execution was a big mistake. When they used the language from the play and not updating it to modern day language was a big mistake by the directors and it kind of ruined the movie for me. The part of the movie leading up to the climax was just a blur of images and if you didn t read the play or watch the 1968 film you would have... At the climax Juliet is somewhat awake and is moving around but Romeo doesn t notice and starts to drink the poison anyway. Juliet wakes up the very second the poison touches Romeo s lips and it s about the worst scene i ve ever seen in a movie. The very last part of the climax is where ,in the play, Romeo dies and then Juliet stabs herself. But in this version, Juliet uses Romeo s gun, or dagger , to shoot herself in the head which was maybe the most unsettling part of the hole movie. There are two problems with this moment. First, when Juliet shoots herself there s no blood or gunshot wound or anything. Second, when Juliet dies she lads on the floor but in the very next scene she s hugging Romeo and no one has moved her since she got shot so it makes no ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In Kirsty Fairclough s Celebrity, Youth Culture and The Question of Role Models, she said that teenagers are likely to connect with [celebrities] that they feel best represent them as well as those that do not (Fairclough). And they also can get teenagers interested in politics. David Cox presented an American study that suggests that 80% of [Americans] had discussed the political views of celebrities with friends (Cox 5). Another example of how celebrities are changing is Tina Feyand the 2008 Presidential Election. Tina Fey impersonated Sarah Palin on Saturday Night Live (SNL) during the 2008 Presidential Election and had a small effect on the election, according to The Fey Effect: Young Adults, Political Humor, and Perceptions of Sarah Palin in the 2008 Presidential Election Campaign.
