Creativity?
What is
There is no single authoritative
perspective or definition of creativity
• The ability to make new things or think of
new ideas

• The quality of being creative

• The ability to create
The tendency to generate or recognize
ideas, alternatives, or possibilities that
may be useful in solving problems,
communicating with others, and
entertaining ourselves and others”
- Robert E. Franken
“
GENERATION OF IDEAS APPROPIATENESS
All who study creativity agree that for
something to be creative, it is not
enough for it to be novel: it must have
value, or be appropriate to the
cognitive demands of the situation”
- Robert Weisberg
“
Creativity is any act, idea, or product
that changes an existing domain, or
that transforms an existing domain
into a new one...What counts is
whether the novelty he or she
produces is accepted for inclusion in
the domain”
- Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi
“
Creativity is just connecting things. When you ask
creative people how they did something, they feel
a little guilty because they didn't really do it, they
just saw something. It seemed obvious to them
after a while. That's because they were able to
connect experiences they've had and synthesize
new things”

- Steve Jobs
“

- J.P. Guilford
