2. Liam Espinosa
was the new
kid.
He was from
New York; and,
he had a
strong upstate
accent.
He knew no
one but
Preston and
Askari were
about to
change that.
Liam
3. “Hello, my name is Preston” he says as he waves to the new
kid.
“Uhmm… My name is Liam” trying to hide his accent.
“You talk funny”
Liam face turned into a dark shade of red. He was caught
red handed it.
4. Putting his head down he starting crying.
What’s wrong with me? He thought aloud to himself.
5. “Nothing’s wrong
with you.” Liam
heard a small
voice say. He
looked and saw
this kid with light
bright brown eyes.
“Hi, my name is
Askari” his voice
was high pitched.
“You don’t think I
talk funny” said
Liam.
6. “I don’t think you talk funny” Askari said making a
funny face.
Liam laughs!
“I’m glad I could make you laugh”
7. Preston on the other side of the
classroom was thinking of ways to get the
new kid to be his friend.
8. “I should have never said that to Liam. Now he’s gonna hate
me!” thought Preston.
Little did he know all he had to do was apologize and all
would be well.
“I know what I could do. I’m gonna to draw him a picture!
9. So, Preston drew Liam a picture and wrote him a little note
on the bottom.
I’m sorry for making fun
of you. Can we be friends?
10. Handing Liam the note, Preston
stood there waiting to see his
reaction.
For
Liam
11. “Thanks
Preston and
yes we can be
friends” this
time Liam didn’t
try to hide his
accent.
“I think your
accent is cool!
I like way you
say my name.”
Preston said
smiling.
12. “Okay that’s enough boys, Liam can you come to the front of
the classroom?” said Mr. Mitchell.
Liam stood beside the teacher with his head up high.
“Can you introduce yourself to the class.”
“Hello, My name is Liam!” he said as he waved to the full
classroom kids.
13. “I like your hair!” said a little girl in the front row.
“I think he has nice shoes,” said a little girl in the far back of
the classroom that was staring at Liam’s shoes.
“Alright, alright class quiet down. You can all get to know Liam
after class.” said Mr. Mitchell.
14. Liam walked back to his seat, as he
sat down as the teacher began to
teach.
He was smiling because just maybe
this school wasn’t as bad as he
thought.
