When you first log into the course, you will
see any current announcements.
Announcements are also sent to your
email.
Understand the Menu
All navigation starts with the menu that
appears upon login to the course.
 The top section is the “don’t miss this”
section – critical information such as the
syllabus is here, as is the Ask! forum.
 The second section is course content
areas, divided into four units.
 The third section is tools that we will use in
this course, including key assessments
and grades. If we add a tool it may
change.
 The bottom section is help and
miscellaneous

the Ask! forum, highlighted on the menu
image to the right. Post your general
course-related questions here. You and
your peers can answer them, too, if you
know the answer; and of course the
instructors will address questions as well –
within two business days, though usually
sooner.
As you might expect, you should still send
any questions about your individual
progress to the instructors in an email
message.

Learning Modules – Getting
to the Content
 Our content is organized into learning
modules – essentially little electronic
notebooks of information.
 In general, one concept or activity is
presented per page. All content, activities,
and assessments are presented in the
learning modules.
 There’s also a table of contents, so you can
return directly to a page you need.
 While they vary a bit from week to week,
each includes base components such as
objectives and a “to-do” list of things to get
done.

Understand the Menu All navigation starts with the menu that appears upon login to the course.  The top section is the “don’t miss this” section – critical information such as the syllabus is here, as is the Ask! forum.  The second section is course content areas, divided into four units.  The third section is tools that we will use in this course, including key assessments and grades.   • 5. Ask! One must-know thing about this course is the Ask! forum, highlighted on the menu image to the right. Post your general course-related questions here. You and your peers can answer them, too, if you know the answer; and of course the instructors will address questions as well – within two business days, though usually sooner. As you might expect, you should still send any questions about your individual progress to the instructors in an email message. Learning Modules – Getting to the Content  Our content is organized into learning modules – essentially little electronic notebooks of information.  In general, one concept or activity is presented per page. All content, activities, and assessments are presented in the learning modules.  There’s also a table of contents, so you can return directly to a page you need.  While they vary a bit from week to week, each includes base components such as objectives and a “to-do” list of things to get done.
