Corporate governance refers to the system by which companies are directed and controlled. It involves relationships between management, board of directors, shareholders, and other stakeholders. There has been increased focus on corporate governance globally due to unethical practices of some companies. In India, various committees like the Kumar Mangalam Committee and SEBI Committee have reviewed corporate governance. National Foundation for Corporate Governance defines it as rules and incentives that provide structure to set company objectives and monitor performance.
