Coronavirus was discovered in China in 2019. Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that can cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases like MERS and SARS. COVID-19 spreads from person to person through respiratory droplets when people cough or sneeze or by touching contaminated surfaces. Symptoms include fever, cough, and shortness of breath. Prevention methods include frequent hand washing, social distancing, and disinfecting surfaces.
Coronavirus Disease, officially named as COVID-19, started as an epidemic in a live animal market in Wuhan, China, and spread throughout the world at an alarming rate. It was declared a pandemic by WHO on 11th March, 2020. The virus causing the disease was initially named 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV), but later officially renamed by WHO as Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome- Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). This virus is related to SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV that caused epidemics in China and Saudi Arabia in 2002 and 2012, respectively. The virus primarily affects the lungs, and causes death in a small proportion of patients due to Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS). The data on this new disease is very early, and might change as new data emerges.

Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (MERS-CoV)Razwoan Bakth
Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV): Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) is viral respiratory illness first reported in Saudi Arabia in 2012. It is caused by a coronavirus called MERS-CoV.
Corona viruses are a family of viruses that cause illness such as respiratory diseases or gastrointestinal diseases. More severe diseases eg-
Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV)
Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV).
A novel coronavirus (nCoV) is a new strain that has not been identified in humans previously. Once scientists determine exactly what coronavirus it is, they give it a name (as in the case of COVID-19, the virus causing it is SARS-CoV-2).Coronaviruses got their name from the way that they look under a microscope.

Feeding plate for a newborn with Cleft Palate.pptxSatvikaPrasad
A feeding plate is a prosthetic device used for newborns with a cleft palate to assist in feeding and improve nutrition intake. From a prosthodontic perspective, this plate acts as a barrier between the oral and nasal cavities, facilitating effective sucking and swallowing by providing a more normal anatomical structure. It helps to prevent milk from entering the nasal passage, thereby reducing the risk of aspiration and enhancing the infant's ability to feed efficiently. The feeding plate also aids in the development of the oral muscles and can contribute to better growth and weight gain. Its custom fabrication and proper fitting by a prosthodontist are crucial for ensuring comfort and functionality, as well as for minimizing potential complications. Early intervention with a feeding plate can significantly improve the quality of life for both the infant and the parents.

Coronavirus
1.
2. DO YOU KNOW WHAT IS CORNAVIRUS
• IT WAS DISCOVERED BY CHINA 2019
• CORONAVIRUSES (COV) ARE A LARGE FAMILY OF VIRUSES THAT CAUSE ILLNESS
RANGING FROM THE COMMON COLD TO MORE SEVERE DISEASES SUCH AS MIDDLE
EAST RESPIRATORY SYNDROME (MERS-COV) AND SEVERE ACUTE RESPIRATORY
SYNDROME (SARS-COV).
• CORONAVIRUSES ARE ZOONOTIC, MEANING THEY ARE TRANSMITTED BETWEEN
ANIMALS AND PEOPLE. DETAILED INVESTIGATIONS FOUND THAT SARS-COV WAS
TRANSMITTED FROM CIVET CATS TO HUMANS AND MERS-COV FROM DROMEDARY
CAMELS TO HUMANS. SEVERAL KNOWN CORONAVIRUSES ARE CIRCULATING IN
ANIMALS THAT HAVE NOT YET INFECTED HUMANS.
3. HOW IT IS TRANSMITED
• COVOID-19 IS SPREAD FROM PERSON TO PERSON USUALLY VIA CLOSE CONTACT OR
RESPIRATORY DROPLETS
• THE VIRUS CAN BE SPREAD THROUGH SURFACES THAT HAVE BEEN TOUCHED BY
INFECTED PEOPLE
• A SNEEZING PERSON WILL COVER HIS MOUTH AND THEN HE WILL TOUCH
SOMETHING THEN YOU WILL TOUCH , THE VIRUS CAN ENTER YOUR BODY WHEN YOU
TOUCH YOUR OWN FACE
• CORONAVIRUS CAN BE SPREAD THROUGH FECAL TRANSMISSION B/W PERSON
4. HOW MUCH DURATION DOES IT STAYS ON
AN OBJECT
• CORONAVIRUS CAN LIVE ON ANY MATERIAL LIKE METAL , PLASTIC , GLASS FOR
ANYWHERE FROM 2 HOURS TO 9 DAYS
• IF SOMONE SPITS SOMEWHERE THE VIRUS STAYS FOR 2 TO 3 DAYS
5. SYMPTOMS OF CORONAVIRUS
• COMMON SIGNS OF INFECTION INCLUDE RESPIRATORY SYMPTOMS, FEVER, COUGH,
SHORTNESS OF BREATH AND BREATHING DIFFICULTIES. IN MORE SEVERE CASES,
INFECTION CAN CAUSE PNEUMONIA, SEVERE ACUTE RESPIRATORY SYNDROME,
KIDNEY FAILURE AND EVEN DEATH.
6. PREVENTION• WASH YOUR HANDS OFTEN WITH SOAP AND WATER FOR AT LEAST 20 SECONDS
ESPECIALLY AFTER YOU HAVE BEEN IN A PUBLIC PLACE, OR AFTER BLOWING YOUR
NOSE, COUGHING, OR SNEEZING.
• IF SOAP AND WATER ARE NOT READILY AVAILABLE, USE A HAND SANITIZER THAT
CONTAINS AT LEAST 60% ALCOHOL. COVER ALL SURFACES OF YOUR HANDS AND
RUB THEM TOGETHER UNTIL THEY FEEL DRY.
• AVOID TOUCHING YOUR EYES, NOSE, AND MOUTH WITH UNWASHED HANDS.
• AVOID CLOSE CONTACT WITH PEOPLE WHO ARE SICK
• PUT DISTANCE BETWEEN YOURSELF AND OTHER PEOPLE IF COVID-19 IS SPREADING
IN YOUR COMMUNITY. THIS IS ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE AT
HIGHER RISK OF GETTING VERY SICK.
7. PAGE CONTINUED………• STAY HOME IF YOU ARE SICK, EXCEPT TO GET MEDICAL CARE. LEARN WHAT TO DO
IF YOU ARE SICK.
• COVER YOUR MOUTH AND NOSE WITH A TISSUE WHEN YOU COUGH OR SNEEZE
OR USE THE INSIDE OF YOUR ELBOW.
• THROW USED TISSUES IN THE TRASH.
• IF YOU ARE SICK: YOU SHOULD WEAR A FACEMASK WHEN YOU ARE AROUND
OTHER PEOPLE (E.G., SHARING A ROOM OR VEHICLE) AND BEFORE YOU ENTER A
HEALTHCARE PROVIDER’S OFFICE. IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO WEAR A FACEMASK
EXAMPLE, BECAUSE IT CAUSES TROUBLE BREATHING), THEN YOU SHOULD DO YOUR
BEST TO COVER YOUR COUGHS AND SNEEZES, AND PEOPLE WHO ARE CARING
YOU SHOULD WEAR A FACEMASK IF THEY ENTER YOUR ROOM. LEARN WHAT TO DO
YOU ARE SICK.
8. PAGE CONTINUED………..
• IF YOU ARE NOT SICK: YOU DO NOT NEED TO WEAR A FACEMASK UNLESS YOU ARE
CARING FOR SOMEONE WHO IS SICK (AND THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO WEAR A
FACEMASK). FACEMASKS MAY BE IN SHORT SUPPLY AND THEY SHOULD BE SAVED
CAREGIVERS.
• CLEAN AND DISINFECT FREQUENTLY TOUCHED SURFACES DAILY. THIS INCLUDES
TABLES, DOORKNOBS, LIGHT SWITCHES, COUNTERTOPS, HANDLES, DESKS, PHONES,
KEYBOARDS, TOILETS, FAUCETS, AND SINKS.
• IF SURFACES ARE DIRTY, CLEAN THEM: USE DETERGENT OR SOAP AND WATER PRIOR
TO DISINFECTION.
