After testing a vehicle on an eddy current chassis dynamometer, it is crucial to allow the eddy current absorbers to cool for at least 3 minutes by keeping the vehicle running at 30 MPH with no load on the absorbers. This cooling down period is important for the safety and longevity of the dynamometer, as it allows the absorbers to safely cool after becoming heated during vehicle testing. Not following this cooling procedure can negatively impact the lifespan of the chassis dynamometer.
