1. Currently in the film industry there is more of a broad
range of style to connect to the audience and to advertise
the new films, such as through Television, adverts on
YouTube videos, Magazines, social experiments , Posters
at bus stops or on the actual bus and social media.
Film companies find more creative ways to attract the
intended audience, for the film to be successful within the
industry .
2. Prior to the release of Orphan in 2009 the
film makers held casting auditions for the film
before 2007 , in Canada in three cities ,
Toronto, Port Hope and Montreal. By
November 2007 the main roles had been
casted.
By doing these public auditions , the
advertisement for Orphan had begun.
The trailer for this film was
released in January 2009,
and was theatrically in the
United states on 24th July
2009
3. After the film was released there was an uproar of positive feedback from online film critics
Magazines, newspapers . Along with the positive feedback there was a lot of controversy with the film ,
with the events that took place within it to do with adoption was not taken well by the adoption
community.
4. Nevertheless the buzz of this controversial and psychological horror got the public talking, sharing it on
social media, making face book pages, twitter as a must see film amongst the audience.
Vloggers on YouTube took it upon themselves to do public movie reviews and interviews with cast. Overtime this film became more well known
and reached number #4 film in the box office on it’s opening weekend. In April 2010 the film became available for purchase on Blu Ray and DVD
in the USA and in May in the UK.
