Turner Construction Company operates in several major markets including commercial, healthcare, public, and hotel/residential. Healthcare is the fastest growing market but lacks construction knowledge. Commercial projects are recession-proof but information is needed far in advance. Turner primarily uses negotiated and lump-sum contract types where contingency fees are charged and savings are shared. The selling process involves presentations to clients followed by proposals and meetings with decision makers. Project selection considers contract type, job size, owner relationships, staffing needs, and existing business in the local territory. Today's decision discusses approving a commercial project or pursuing work with a hospital chain to gain expertise and strengthen staff.
The USH Company specializes in unique gifting experiences like customized chocolate and gift wrapping. Guru Media was tasked with creating a complete brand identity from scratch. They developed the name "United States of Happiness" to represent gifting as a source of happiness. The logo features a peacock and doodled letters to represent pride in a nation that supports happiness. Doodles were used throughout the branding as something simple, shareable, and that brings random happiness. The identity was brought to life across stationery, website, and social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest.
The construction company was facing challenges with a new sales division, including unrealistic goals set by the micromanaging co-owner that discouraged sales reps. The co-owner attended most sales calls, dominated conversations, and took credit for sales. A consultant was brought in to implement a sales strategy, process, and infrastructure including a sales assessment, CRM, proposal templates, and new pay plan. This resulted in a tenfold increase in the sales pipeline and over 700% revenue growth within the first six months, solving the client's problems and allowing the business to focus on growth.

Material management in construction – a case studyeSAT Journals
Abstract
The objective of the present study is to understand about all the problems occurring in the company because of improper application
of material management. In construction project operation, often there is a project cost variance in terms of the material, equipments,
manpower, subcontractor, overhead cost, and general condition. Material is the main component in construction projects. Therefore,
if the material management is not properly managed it will create a project cost variance. Project cost can be controlled by taking
corrective actions towards the cost variance. Therefore a methodology is used to diagnose and evaluate the procurement process
involved in material management and launch a continuous improvement was developed and applied. A thorough study was carried
out along with study of cases, surveys and interviews to professionals involved in this area. As a result, a methodology for diagnosis
and improvement was proposed and tested in selected projects. The results obtained show that the main problem of procurement is
related to schedule delays and lack of specified quality for the project. To prevent this situation it is often necessary to dedicate
important resources like money, personnel, time, etc. To monitor and control the process. A great potential for improvement was
detected if state of the art technologies such as, electronic mail, electronic data interchange (EDI), and analysis were applied to the
procurement process. These helped to eliminate the root causes for many types of problems that were detected.

Moren Corporation (A)
Moren Corporation was building three additional generation
stations to serve its rapidly expanding energy market. To
link these stations with a total area grid, a new method of car-
rying the power lines using ornamental tubular poles instead
of towers had been adopted. Moren had had no previous op-
erating experience with poles and decided to subcontract the
design engineering, fabrication, and erection of the new line.
For the first phase of engineering design, Mr. Carter,
the vice president of supply, faced the responsibility of de-
ciding with which supplier the business was to be placed
after his staff had developed the information needed. He
was aware that Moren had only three years in which to
complete the entire project, and yet he had to ensure high-
quality work.

Best practices for project execution and deliveryCLIVE MINCHIN
A select set of project management best practices to keep your project on-track, on-cost and aligned to scope. Many firms have don't have the necessary skills, diligence, methods and oversight of their projects; this leads to slippage, higher costs and longer timeframes. Often firms have a history of projects that simply failed to move the needle. These best practices will help your firm avoid these pitfalls but they require fortitude to apply.
Implicitly or explicitly all competing businesses employ a strategy to select a mix
of marketing resources. Formulating such competitive strategies fundamentally
involves recognizing relationships between elements of the marketing mix (e.g.,
price and product quality), as well as assessing competitive and market conditions
(i.e., industry structure in the language of economics).

The Evolution and Impact of OTT Platforms: A Deep Dive into the Future of Ent...ABHILASH DUTTA
This presentation provides a thorough examination of Over-the-Top (OTT) platforms, focusing on their development and substantial influence on the entertainment industry, with a particular emphasis on the Indian market. We begin with an introduction to OTT platforms, defining them as streaming services that deliver content directly over the internet, bypassing traditional broadcast channels. These platforms offer a variety of content, including movies, TV shows, and original productions, allowing users to access content on-demand across multiple devices. The historical context covers the early days of streaming, starting with Netflix's inception in 1997 as a DVD rental service and its transition to streaming in 2007. The presentation also highlights India's television journey, from the launch of Doordarshan in 1959 to the introduction of Direct-to-Home (DTH) satellite television in 2000, which expanded viewing choices and set the stage for the rise of OTT platforms like Big Flix, Ditto TV, Sony LIV, Hotstar, and Netflix. The business models of OTT platforms are explored in detail. Subscription Video on Demand (SVOD) models, exemplified by Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, offer unlimited content access for a monthly fee. Transactional Video on Demand (TVOD) models, like iTunes and Sky Box Office, allow users to pay for individual pieces of content. Advertising-Based Video on Demand (AVOD) models, such as YouTube and Facebook Watch, provide free content supported by advertisements. Hybrid models combine elements of SVOD and AVOD, offering flexibility to cater to diverse audience preferences.
Content acquisition strategies are also discussed, highlighting the dual approach of purchasing broadcasting rights for existing films and TV shows and investing in original content production. This section underscores the importance of a robust content library in attracting and retaining subscribers. The presentation addresses the challenges faced by OTT platforms, including the unpredictability of content acquisition and audience preferences. It emphasizes the difficulty of balancing content investment with returns in a competitive market, the high costs associated with marketing, and the need for continuous innovation and adaptation to stay relevant.
The impact of OTT platforms on the Bollywood film industry is significant. The competition for viewers has led to a decrease in cinema ticket sales, affecting the revenue of Bollywood films that traditionally rely on theatrical releases. Additionally, OTT platforms now pay less for film rights due to the uncertain success of films in cinemas.
Looking ahead, the future of OTT in India appears promising. The market is expected to grow by 20% annually, reaching a value of ₹1200 billion by the end of the decade. The increasing availability of affordable smartphones and internet access will drive this growth, making OTT platforms a primary source of entertainment for many viewers.
