• The term Politics comes from the Greek word polis, a place or state
shared by a certain group of people.
• Politics are activities associated with the governance of a country or
other area, especially the debate or conflict among individuals or
parties having or hoping to achieve power.
• The term Governance came from the Latin verb gubernare or
originally from the Greek term kubernaein which means “to steer”.
• Governance refers to the manner of steering or governing, or of
directing and controlling, a group of people or state (Tamayo 2014).
