This document provides instructions and guidelines for students using the computer lab. It outlines expectations for positive behavior, respect for others, and following procedures. Students are asked to enter and sit quietly, keep hands off keyboards until instructed, and wait for further directions. Specific rules are outlined for not tampering with equipment and personalizing computers. Signals are provided to gain students' attention. Consequences for inappropriate behavior are defined in levels ranging from reminders to losing computer privileges for the day.

4. When your class arrives please: Enter quietly. Sit where you can do your best work. Keep hands off the keyboard and mouse. Wait quietly for instructions. Procedures

5. Don’t touch or tamper with cords or plug-ins. Do keep chairs on the ground at all times.

6. Don’t personalize the computers This includes: Installing screen savers from the Internet. Changing the desktop background. Changing the video and audio settings. Adding, changing or moving icons on the desktop.

9. As a courtesy to the next class, please leave the lab as you found it: All programs closed and returned to the start screen. Chair pushed in. Work area clean. Paper in trash bin.

10. Student is out of control , consistently not following rules or respecting others. Levels of Behavior Level 1

11. Student is bullying/disrespectful , and often not following the rules. Level 2

12. Student occasionally needs reminders the to stay on task and follow all the rules by themselves. Level 3

13. No reminding needed ! Student has self control, stays on task, and follow the rules. Level 4

14. Verbal warning. 5 minutes off computer. Computer privilege lost for the day. Call parent and/or send to the principal. Send to principal with written referral. Behavior Consequences

15. Reminder: No one will be allowed to work on computers until the Computer Lab Agreement is signed by the student and parent and returned to your classroom teacher!
