1. My name is Kenneth Bertram and I have worked offshore in the oil industry for
the past 25 years.
I am a talented Chief Mechanic/Maintenance Technican/Hydraulic
Mechanic/Marine Engineer with proven expertise in managing the repair and
maintenance of jack-ups, semi-subs, land rigs and drill ships, including the
latest technology top drive and the latest Generation (Cyber Chair) VFD
Drilling rigs. I have proven success in working effectively in a team
environment operating to demanding production schedules and adhering to
site safety guidelines. Over the past 25 years I have worked as a Chief
Mechanic/Hydraulic Mechanic/Marine Engineer in most areas of the world
both on and offshore working with and training nationals.
I have a current passport, yellow fever vaccination and BOSIET as well as all
the required certification for working in the North Sea. My Vantage No. 8990.
I also have the following STCW 95 certificates: - Elementary First Aid,
Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats, Fire Prevention and Fire
Fighting and Personal Survival Techniques, I also have a certificate for FRC
Coxswain done in Singapore at Falck Nutec.
I have extensive knowledge and experience in carrying out fault finding and
diagnostic repairs, scheduling workloads, providing expert technical support
and performing repairs and maintenance on mechanical, hydraulics,
pneumatics systems in heavy industry.
I am apprenticeship trained as a ship fit in a shipyard from 1971 to 1975 and
from 1975 to 1990 I was a marine engineer on various sizes of ships.
I progressed from 5th Engineer up to 2nd Engineer during this time.
