SUMMARY:-
I grew up in the mountains of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland in Queensland on
a hobby farm, rural community. I picked fruit & veg on weekends & school
holidays, starting part time employment from the age of 12. This included
picking ginger, zucchini, potatoes and passionfruit and work in the packing
shed at the passionfruit orchard. My first full-time employed was head strapper

10. on a breeding/selling thoroughbred stud on the Darling Downs. From 1983 to
1988 I managed restaurants in Victoria. I took Employment in hotels
restaurants on the weekends as part-time work/second job.
In 1989 I was employed by Hancock Bros Plywood Industry as their Quality
Control Supervisor. I completed a course with the Plywood Ass of Australia &
CSIRO. (See attached reference) from the engineers of the Plywood
Association of Australia and the head scientist of the CSIRO in Vic. I was a
key assistant in the engineering of the first plywood stress grader in
Australia/Southern Hemisphere. I lectured for the CSIRO and conducted field
excursions at Handcock Plywood Pty Ltd. I wrote the first SOPP handbooks for
the plywood industry in Australia. In 1994 I was employed at ACI saw mill and
have many grading certificates for the soft wood industry. I was Quality Control
assistant/team leader.
In 2001 I started work with Nolan Meat Abattoir as a slicer. From 2003 to 2011
I was employed by Nestle’ as a labor/machine operator I completed my Food
cert 11, an on-site course through Goulburn Ovens Institute. I have completed
a fire safety course and a chemical course & was involved in the committee for
running through breaks doing shift work.
I have spent most of my life in the rural sectors of Australia. I lived for 2yrs on
a citrus orchard (my partner managed). I have worked thinning citrus and other
orchard duties. I started employment with Gayndah Packers Association Co-
Op at the beginning of 2011. I am employed as a Quality Control/WH&S
administrator for Gayndah Packers Co-Op. One of my initiatives in this position
was to create a Growers’ Diary which incorporated the combination for around
23 different documents into a one day to a page document for ease of
reference and use for the Co-operative’s Growers. The Growers along with
my assistance have achieved an average of a 91% audit pass rate. This has
increased from an average of 68% from when I started working with the
Growers of the Co-operative. I have a diploma in Agribusiness.
As a hobby/second income I have recently worked in 2 hotels in the Gayndah
area as Head Cook and Bar Attendant. I have my Provide Responsible
Gambling Service SITHGAM201 and Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol
SITHFAB201.
