The teacher was asked to modify a traditional lesson plan on regions to incorporate Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles. The modified lesson plan includes: 1) The use of visual, auditory and kinesthetic materials and activities to engage the 12 visual, 8 auditory and 5 kinesthetic learners. 2) The incorporation of technology resources, such as videos or interactive websites, to support the 10 English learners in understanding the concept of regions. 3) Modifications to the presentation of content, activities for student expression, and methods to maintain student engagement that address the three UDL guidelines of representation, action and expression, and engagement.
