4. Comparison between “The Rime of the
Ancient Mariner” and Frankenstein
Similarities:-
 They are both told through the ears of someone being told the
story.
 Life and death:- In Frankenstein, Frankenstein puts life into an
intimate body or, in other words, bringing a corpse back to life.
Similarly, the sailors in” The Rime of the Ancient Mariner”were
killed then brought back to life.
 Mesmerized:- Walton and the wedding-guest are both
mesmerized by the speckers.
 Walton is amazed by Frankenstein’s incredible wisdom,
knowledge and the obvious hardship.
 The wedding-guest is intrigued by the ancient mariner’s
glittering bright eyes.

5.  Both tales emphasize the power of natural forces through
the albatross and Frankenstein’s creation.

 Underlying idea of retribution
 Both told in flashbacks
 Both in an old English dilect
 Both show tales of betrayal and injustice Of the protogonist.
 Both victor and Mariner had no intentions of bad things, just
they happened.
 Both the Mariner and victor are lost.Whether they are
literally lost like the Mariner or lost in the past like victor.

6.  Both defined the laws of nature. The Mariner took a life and
victor tried to get give life to something even though it
wasn’t meant to be.
 Both text were written during the Romantic period of
English.
 The stories of both Victor and The Mariner entail careless
deeds that have many horrible reciprocations
 used foreshadowing as a major narrative technique in these
two works
 common theme found in both Frankenstein and The Rime of
the Ancient Mariner is the respect for nature and living
things.

7. Conclusion
 Frankenstein and The Rime of The
Anciant Mariner are different but the
same. This may be a hard concept to
graps at first but when you analyze both
documents it makes a lot of sense.There
are many quotes and inference in
Frankenstein that are directly linked to
The Rime of the Ancient Mariner.
