Comparatives are used to compare two things and are formed by adding "-er" to one-syllable adjectives and most two-syllable adjectives, or by adding "more" before adjectives with more than two syllables. When forming comparatives, final "y" changes to "i" and sometimes the final letter is doubled. The irregular comparatives for "good" and "bad" are "better" and "worse" respectively, and the comparative structure requires using "than" after the adjective being compared.
