Communication Essay
Crafting an essay on the broad subject of communication can be both challenging and intricate.
The difficulty lies not only in the vastness of the topic but also in the need to strike a balance
between theoretical concepts and real-world applications. Communication is a multifaceted
phenomenon that encompasses verbal and non-verbal aspects, cultural nuances, technological
advancements, interpersonal dynamics, and more.
One of the challenges in writing such an essay is navigating through the extensive literature
available on communication theories and models. Selecting the most relevant and applicable
concepts to discuss requires a deep understanding of the subject matter. Additionally, the
dynamic nature of communication, influenced by societal changes and technological progress,
adds a layer of complexity. Ensuring the essay remains current and relevant poses another hurdle.
Moreover, the essay must address the diverse perspectives and contexts in which communication
takes place. Cultural variations, communication barriers, and the impact of different mediums
further complicate the task. Striking a balance between academic discourse and practical
examples is crucial to make the essay engaging and informative.
In the process of crafting a communication essay, the writer is challenged to synthesize
information, critically analyze theories, and present coherent arguments. Effective
communication in the essay itself becomes a test of the writer's ability to convey complex ideas
in a clear and accessible manner.
In conclusion, writing an essay on communication demands a comprehensive understanding of
the topic, the ability to navigate through diverse theories, and the skill to present a well-
structured and engaging narrative. It is a task that requires both academic prowess and practical
insight.
For those seeking assistance with essays, similar academic tasks, or any writing needs, various

Organisms Response to the Increases in Extreme Weather
Events
AN ORGANISMS RESPONSE TO THE INCREASES IN EXTREME WEATHER
EVENTS
The global climate has increased by approximately 0.6В°C over the last 100 years
(Walther et al. 2002). This increased rate of changes is largely due to humans: the
industrial revolution, the advancement of technology and burning of fossil fuels
(Timmermann et al. 1999). This human involvement has gradually changed the
natural order of the environment and many of its processes. Some of these
environmental conditions are not easily predictable, as these climatic changes are
also increasing more extreme weather events such as: droughts in the savannah
country, floods in low lying areas and an increase in intensity of cyclonic events
(Knutson et al. 2010).
Human interactions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, older bacteria lineages indicate slower rates of change and a few
genes were seen to be niche specific (Hao and Golding 2006). Similarly various
insect groups have many generations over a short period of time and demonstrate
high fecundity rates. The overall influence of the changing climate could cause swifter
speciation or variation in species richness or a change in the order of trophic levels
(Nicolakakis et al. 2003, Petchey et al. 1999).
Organisms do not spontaneously evolve to these globally predicted changes rather
they respond to their regional or local environment (Hoffman and SgrГі 2011). The
idea of behavioural plasticity, which is the evolutionary way to respond to change
through behaviours, is the approach organisms use to adapt rapidly to change. A
component of this behavioural plasticity is behavioural flexibility, which is the
ability of phenotypes to show reversible switching. In this review I will first discuss
unpredictability of climates and climatic events in the tropics. I will then explore how
behavioural plasticity plays a major role in organisms coping with weather extremes.
I will further demonstrate how climate change could alter the way we perceive the
once stable tropics, with regards to human involvement in the changing landscape of
the tropics. I suggest that behavioural plasticity
Database Management Systems That Are Used For Non...
Overview
NoSQL is generally interpreted as Not only SQL [1]. It is a class of database
management systems that are used for non relational database. Typically NoSQL
database does not use two dimensional table to store data. The four generally
categories of NoSQL database are key values database, column databases, document
databases, and graph databases [2]. NoSQL database is an indispensable part of big
data. Most company choose NoSQL database because it yields better performance
when compared to relation database. Many relational databases have been existing
for more than 20 years, while most NoSQL databases have a history of less than 5
years. Because NoSQL databases are so young, they exposes lots of security issues.
Many NoSQL databases are still focusing on adding features and improving
performance, while strength security mechanism is still a low priority task. There
were already two data breaches happened in companies that are using NoSQL
databases (MongoHQ in 2013 and LinkedIn in 2012 [3]).

NoSQL database characteristics
The problem of relational database is that its performance degrade significantly while
handling exponential growth of semi structured data or unstructured data [4]. The
NoSQL databases possess properties called BASE (Basically available, Soft state, and
eventually consistent) that makes it much more scalable than relational databases. As
the CAP theorem [5] said, a database system cannot have high consistency, high
availability,
Rhetorical Analysis Of David Foster Wallace
The Choice of Thought In May of 2005 college graduates, parents, and friends
listened to David Foster Wallace recite one of his infamous pieces of writings. This
speech is about the value of the graduates liberal arts education. The speech is not
typical for what would be expected. The expected speech would be motivational,
educational, and thought provoking. When delivering this speech Mr. Wallace says
several times that motivating or educating is not the purpose of the speech. However,
even though this might not have been the explicit purpose of his speech, the speech
did nothing but provoke thought. David Foster Wallace was a famous writer. Wallace
is most commonly known for his works pertaining to philosophy and compassion. He

The content of the speech, pertaining to philosophy and ways of thought, is one of
my favorite topics to expand on. After hearing this speech a few years ago, I still
constantly try to remind myself that I have a choice in what I can think and feel. I
be driving down the street and encounter an insanely slow driver and I then start to
get upset and angry. As soon as I do this I tell myself choose to think differently. I
enjoy the stories included in the speech and think they accurately describe a
situation of annoyance. Although I am not an adult who has to buy groceries for
myself, I think of a time where I have faced individuals that seem to just be holding
me up. I also love Wallace s use of conversational words and phrases and his emotion

We Real Cool The poem We Real Cool have been written in 1928 by the author
Gwendolyn Brooks . The author was a highly regarded, honored poet and she being
the first black author to win the award Pulitzer Prize . The poem We Real Cool was
about thoughts of young guys playing pool at a pool house called The Golden

The pool players in the poem We Real Cool seem to know everything about the jazz

India s Growth Of The Indian Economy
Now a day s entrepreneurship is playing an excellent role in boosting up the Indian
economy by working as driving force in the market. Many young entrepreneurs are
coming forward and setting up their ventures in different parts of India. These
initiatives are opening the way for plenty of jobs for the young jobseekers which is
prime necessity for the development of any economy like India. (Quote this by
current unemployment data). India is recognized as a talent hub in the world which

Nietzsche Overman Analysis
Nietzsche s overman has the right to make promises because he, according to
Nietzsche, is the only being who is able to keep those promises. For Nietzsche, an
overman has the strength of character: the reliability and regularity to be able to
make promises ( Second essay: Guilt , bad conscience and related matters 36).
Nietzsche connects the would promise with the word responsibility, and the
importance of that in a man who has the ability to make promises.
Nietzsche refers to the ability to make promises as the mastering of free will, and
he states how could a man who as mastered free will, how could he remain ignorant
of his superiority over everybody who does not have the prerogative to promise or
answer to himself ( Second essay: Guilt , bad conscience and related matters 37).
This gives insight into the overman because if the overman is the only being who
has the right to make promises, then they must also be an awareness, a conscience, of
self. This ability to make and keep promises is not the only component of the
overman s character though.
The overman has a character of that is in charge of their own free will, and is free of
the burden of bad conscience, and is not slave to ressentiment. The overman is a
being of strength and not of weakness; the overman character must be strong as it has
to overcome attacks from those who see strength as a negative. This base character is
what allows the overman to not fall into the gripe of ressentiment and

The Federal Reserve System ( Money )
^The Federal Reserve System Money, it certainly does make the world go round, and
the reason it is able to do so, is because people have trust in this little piece of paper.
Around the globe there is no piece of paper that inspires more confidence. Officially,
the US Dollar bills are Federal Reserve notes. Every note that is spent or received is
part of a complex organization known as the Federal Reserve System. The Federal
Reserve System is the integral component that keeps the American banking system
afloat. It is, in essence, the governing body of banking and is responsible for many
policies, laws, and regulations that have shaped the American banking system into
what it is today. This institution has garnered a lot of support, as well as faced a
lot of backlash in times of financial turmoil. However, observing the facts and
analyzing the history of the Federal Reserve System will show that is has largely
been a positive force in America. The Federal Reserve System plays a large role in
both the national and world economies and is therefore heavily scrutinized. Under
such scrutiny, one can find that a positive and significant relationship exists
between the Federal Reserve System and the economy because of the policies the
Federal Reserve enacts, the Federal Reserve s regulation of interest rates, and the
Federal Reserve s response to crises in direct connection to economic stability. In
order to firmly grasp the driving concepts behind the Federal Reserve s policies
Comparison Of Hitchcock And Humor Films
A movie without some humorous scenes can be unattractive to many eyes. Hitchcock
films, irrespective of the early times that they were produced, remain some of the
most creative and humorous movies that ever existed. The originality in the
Hitchcock and Humor film makes the movie more real than a fictitious narration
(Naremore 15). Hitchcock creates more suspense within his setting that not only
creates the urge to watch more but also makes the whole story interesting. At some
point, romance feature in Hitchcock films but in a comical manner, which drives the
audienceemotional. Moreover, Hitchcock s works are notable irrespective of the time
of production and the quality of the images but for the content and humor that comes

According to Naremore, most of the situations described by Hitchcock in his
Nollywood presentations are real life issues that affect people today irrespective of
the dynamism in the Hollywood industry (17). Each of the Hitchcock s movie has
something new for the viewer to learn and a new comedy to cheer up the viewers.
Importantly, Hitchcock works are thematic if not educative as annotated by various
Hollywood experts. Movies ought to have a meaningful story flow and occurrences
that the viewers will find important to them in their daily
Democracy and Government
Democracy is defined as the belief in freedom and equality between people, or a
system of government based on this belief, in which power is either held by elected
representatives or directly by the people themselves. So by the very definition, these
governments are enlisted to advocate for the interest of its citizens regardless of
gender, race or age. All democracies are governmentby a specific document which
outline the method in which they are run and what rights they protect. A common
facet in all these documents is a clause that states that the government runs solely on
the will of the people, wand when will differs, the majority will prevail. However the
purpose of democracyis that it allows the ideals of minorities to be expressed. This
balanced system allows for all to have a voice. Unfortunately many times Lobbyists
and political parties can generalize the will of the people, serving industries more
than citizens. However this is often checked up on, and with recent emergence of
third parties, the voice of people can be heard.
Democracies are set to address the issues which adolescents believe are important,
and many have infrastructure to deal with adolescent issues. One of the popular
examples of this is the United States We the People online petitions, an interactive
way that allows the White House keep a pulse on important issues. Any petition that
is signed by more than one hundred thousand people, will be officially and publicly

Freshman Peer Interview
As I met with Taylor Dohlman on September 4, 2015, in Larch room number 2321,
I learned a great deal about the young Ag Business freshman. She is a recent Osage
graduate with a passion for agriculture. Throughout the interview I learned about
Taylor s family, agricultural background, and hometown. Taylor Dohlman was
born at Mercy Hospital, located in Mason City, Iowa, on May 23, 1997. She was
the first child born to Michelle and Jim Dohlman. Taylor grew up outside of
Rockford, a small town located in Iowa. She attended kindergarten at Rockford, but
moved to Osage, Iowa in first grade. From then on Taylor would spend the rest of her
years attending Osage Schools. Dohlman has twin siblings, Trystan and Mady,...

Both her grandfather and mother taught agriculture to high school students, and her
father farms. When Taylor started high school, she took ag classes and joined FFA
(Future Farmers of America), an organization that focuses on teaching leadership
skills through agricultural education. While in FFA, Taylor participated in various
contests and served as an officer. This led Taylor to follow in her parents footsteps
and pursue a career in agriculture. Dohlman declared Agricultural Business as her
major at Iowa State University. Throughout high school Taylor was involved in
various activities and organizations. She participated in golf, cross country, band,
and cheerleading. Dohlman was also part of NHS (National Honor Society), FFA
(Future Farmers of America), and student council, which she served as secretary.
Taylor was also a religion teacher for fifth graders at her local church in Osage,
Iowa. So far, Taylor has been enjoying her adventure at Iowa State. She has learned a
great deal about herself and is adjusting to the various challenges she faces. Taylor is
concerned about managing her time and making it through tough classes, which
includes calculus. Dohlman looks forward to meeting new people in the upcoming
years and joining various clubs, which include; the Ag Business Club and Dance

How Does Kathryn Bigelow Use Camera Angles In The Hurt
Locker
The Hurt Locker, directed by Kathryn Bigelow, was shot in a boots on the ground
reporter style manner that aids in creating a constant, restless assumption of dread.
Bigelow s use of camera angles, movement and slow motion of critical bomb
explosions that accounts for every detail of what happens that we would otherwise
miss in real time, thus, drawing the viewer deeper in by heightening the raw
comprehension of the moment. The opening scene establishes a three man bomb
defusing team confident in their skills baiting us to relax for the moment. However,
through the multiple different shots we witness things that begin to create some
uneasiness, including shots from ground looking up at some Iraqi people looking
through windows, balconies and rooftops. The point of view camera angles causes us

As the scene continues, the robot s trailer breaks a wheel and one the men,
Thompson, must go out and so the robots work. While there is still some comfort
in his confidence level, the anxiety begins to build as he begins the long walk and
the point of view becomes that of the Iraqi civilians that are watching from the
rooftop, or at least thats what we are led to believe. The shot then becomes POV
from the gun scope where we see a man casually watching from a balcony. These
quick cut back and forth, jumpy shots are all over the place putting nerves on edge.
We begin to feel the stress as all camera angles are shown to us from everyones
point of view in the scene, along with close ups to long shots. While Thomson is
walking towards the bomb, his breathing becomes louder and his walking is a little
slower than expected for his confidence level. The camera moves between close up
and wide angle and it feels as though it is taking forever for him to get there. We are
then close up watching Thomson as if we are walking in front of him
Differences Between Nature Vs Nurture Essay
Throughout this paper, we will be comparing similarities and differences between
our seven members based on the Big Five Inventory test results to our Zodiac sign
attributes. Each member of Psychology 101 Group 14 was required to take the
OCEAN Big Personality Quiz, and then compare the results to the other members
of the team. Then after looking at the results individual members compared their
scores to their Zodiac signs to see if they could identify similarities. To begin, while
looking at our comparatives scores of the OCEAN Big 5 Personality quizzes, we
found that a few group members were similar, although there was many differences
in the group too. For example, Gabe and Damon were similar in Openness, with a
score of 41 and 35 respectively. On the other hand, Socoro and Vivianna were
outliers in the group, with Vivianna having a score of 5, and Socoro with a score of
59. We believe while the scores are closely related, our reasons for being close
together in Openness value more shows the debate between nature vs nurture. Gabe
s belief on being in the 35th percentile is how he was raised throughout his family
environment similar to Kaitlyn in the 41st percentile, while Damon s belief for being
in the 41st percentile was more so being born into the statistic rather than recalling
any events that contributed to his score. Rachael scored in the 16th percentile, which
indicates a preference of a more regular schedule. She believes that this is because of
how she
Argumentative Speech About Basketball
Today Chris Herren is an inspiration to people who might be fighting some type of
illness or addiction. Going back 20 plus years ago, Herren was a basketball
prodigy from Fall River, Mass., who had the weight of the world on his shoulders.
He had the attention of the national and local Massachusetts media surrounding his
game. Looking back at everything, it seemed like a lot for someone to deal with at
such a young age. Although a five star prospect on the court, Herren secretly
battled an illness off of it: addiction. This would take him to the lowest of lows and
hit him and his family harder than anything imaginable. Now a motivational
speaker delivering his message of staying clean, Herren spoke about his heights as
a basketball player and struggling with drug dependence while trying to keep his
basketball career intact and family together. Damian Strohmeyer /Sports Illustrated

River, Mass. What was life like growing up? It s a tough blue collar, basketball
community; basketball is the heartbeat to the city. I was fortunate enough to grow
up in a culture where there was a lot of attention and respect for the game of
basketball based on tradition. You come from a family of athletes. Your brother and
even your grandfather were great athletes. Did you feel any pressure growing up in
the shadow of your brother Mike? Of course, there was always pressure. My brother
was basically a trailblazer.
Consequences In The Giver
The book The Giver by Lois Lowry is about a kid name Jonas trying to live in a so
called perfect union. Jonas experience develops a theme over the course The Giver
by teaching the reader for every action there is a consequence. Although some
readers may believe that for every actions there s not a consequence, Jonas
experience shows that once Jonas leaves the community he suffers from starvation
and also pain. For everything we do there is a consequence. In the text it says, The
old man smiled. So do I he said. But that choice is not ours. This shows that the
choices he picks is going to have some kind of consequences. In the text it says, And
this time I m not going to tell you the name of it, because I want to be a receiver. This
Pai s Opinions Of Leadership In Whale Rider
During the first scene in Whale Rider, the protagonist Pai is born into a tribe that
depends on her twin brother on becoming chief, but with his and their mothers
death during childbirth, her grandfather Koro wished in his heat that I (Pai) had
never been born). Though his opinion of Pai changes as she grows and they
become very close. Being the chief of the community, Paka takes tradition and
culture very seriously Paka believes that Pai s twin brother was born to be the chief,
though the audience finds out that it was Pai s duty to become chief. But while Pai
shows this clearly, Koro s antiquated ways and beliefs makes it difficult for her to
assume her position as chief.

Koro s opinion of leadership is out dated and sexist while Pai s opinions are
modern and suit the new ways of the world today. Koro believes that leading is a
man s job and a woman s duty lies within the house. Pai on the other hand learns
that she is just as capable as the other tribe boys and while she is not allowed to
attend the school Koro is running to find a new chief, she seeks out the help of
Rawiri and excels in the leadership qualities Koro is so desperately trying to find
within the boys. Nanny does not show much of an opinion about leadership
throughout the movie, though she does have similar ideas to Koro, You might be
the boss out there... But I m the boss in this kitchen. While she is not as against a
female leader like Koro, she still has an out dated opinion of a woman s duty
within the house. Rawiri shows a lot of belief in Pai, especially when he agrees to
teach her how to use the Taiaha behind Koro s back. Though this does not fully
display his ideas on leadership, it does prove to the audience that he believes in Pai
and her ability to lead, therefor showing an understanding of modern ideals about
leadership contrary to Paka s judgment. Paka s ideas on leadership barely change
throughout the movie until Pai goes to the extreme level of riding the whale out to
sea. By doing this she ultimately becomes The Whale Rider , and Koro s traditional
view of leadership changes completely. In one of the last scenes, when Pai is lying
in the hospital bed with Paka next to her he begins to talk to her, apologising for
his ways, Wise leader, forgive me. I am just a fledgling new to flight . By saying this
he is implying that he trying to change and accept the modern leadership ideals Pai

Homelessness can happen to anyone, you can be the richest person in the world
today and lose it all tomorrow and be out in the streets without knowing what to

people are homeless in Minnesota is due to recession. They stated, In the year
2000, when the U.S. economy was at a high point, nearly a quarter of all adults
who were homeless in our state had full time jobs. The 2012 survey shows us that
only 8 percent of those who are homeless today have full time jobs this survey
shows that not all homeless people are poor it s just they cannot find affordable

Comedic Relief in the Bleek Novel, Hard Times by Charles...
In every bleak novel there is one character who is always there for comedic relief;
in Hard Times, that character is Mrs. Sparsit. Mrs. Sparsit is the housekeeper for
Mr. Bounderby. Essentially she does all the work that a wife would do except she
has a lower status than a wife, but higher than a servant. Here in lies the problem
that she cannot deal with. Mrs. Sparsit came from a well to do family, but slipped
in the social rankings. To regain her pride, she attempts to sabotage Mr. Bounderby
s marriage, but in doing so only makes her a fool. In this passage, a robbery has just
occurred and the townspeople are trying to figure out who the perpetrator is. As of
right now, they believe it is Stephen Blackpool. Shaken by the events, Mrs. Sparsit
stays at Mr. Bounderby s house. The purpose of this passage is to show that it is not
Mr. Bounderby who is the fool, but rather Mrs. Sparsit, who does not seem to
understand that her actions against Bounderby do not have an impact on him at all.
What does Mr. Bounderby care about? Certainly not Mrs. Sparsit. Mr. Bounderby is
an egotistical man who only cares about his social status and money. He married
Louisa with the goal in mind to make her his trophy wife and to have connections
with Mr. Gradgrind it has nothing to do with his emotional connection with Louisa.
Thus, Mrs. Sparsit s determination to pity Mr. Bounderby is completely futile. Mrs.
Sparsit continues to attempt to please Mr. Bounderby
The New York Times Of India, And The Guardian The
United...
The three different newspaper article providers that I chose are the New York
Times, The Times of India, and The Guardian the United Kingdom edition. The
article that I chose to compare between the three of them is about President Trump
choosing his security advisors. I thought that it would be something that would spark
many different opinions on a recent debate would be interesting to explore. The
article itself is about President Trump choosing three of his new advisors for CIA
Director which he appointed Mike Pompeo, for Attorney General, Jeff Sessions, and
for National Security Advisor, Michael T. Flynn. It will be interesting to see what
these newspapers have to say about their opinion of these men and how they portray
them.
The problem for many people is that people are afraid of what Donald Trump is going
to try and do with the United States government during his four years in the
presidential seat. With his selection of who he has asked to be leaders within his
cabinet is another problem that the newly elected President is going to have to face
in the coming months. Many people in the U.S. are upset over his picks due to the
fact that they feel that they will be unfair and possibly unjust to the immigrants living
within the U.S. While the other portion of people here are looking forward to a new
positive change within their government with the new conservative leaders.
The headline for the New York Times is Donald Trump is Choosing His Cabinet.

Impulsive Adolescent Behavior In Romeo And Juliet
Imagine not thinking through situations all the time. Also, these same situations
are not being thought through enough to the point that someone can be hurt or
even killed. In the drama Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, these events
happen quite often. This is due to impulsive adolescence. Most People think that
the only message that Shakespeare tries to convey is that family should not
control their children s hearts. However, Shakespeare has a more prominent
underlying message of the dangers of Impulsive Adolescent behavior. Impulsive
adolescence is teenagers acting before they think everything through all the way.
Some examples of this are the death of Romeo and Juliet, Tybalt and Mercutio s
death, and Romeo getting banished from Verona. The first reason why the theme
of the drama is impulsive adolescent behavior is that of Romeo and Juliet s death.
The reason why Romeo and Juliet s death is apart of Impulsive Adolescent
behavior is that Juliet did not think that Romeo was going to think that she was
dead. Since the potion made it look like she was not breathing it made her family
think she was dead. This leaked out to everyone and it found its way to Romeo.
Then Romeo decided to kill himself because of Juliet s fake death. Then Juliet killed
herself with his dagger because she wanted to be with... Show more content on

The reason why is because two people got killed. This could not have happened if
they did not act out of anger. Romeo did not want to fight Tybalt because they were
family. Tybalt calls Romeo a name and Mercutio draws his sword and Tybalt killed
Mercutio. Mercutio acted out of anger because Tybalt calls Romeo a villain. Then
after Mercutio dies Romeo acts out of anger and he kills Tybalt. This is apart of
impulsive adolescent behavior because they acted out of anger and they did not think
of other resolutions to this

Jehovah s Witness
Ever had your door knocked on by people from the church? Ever been harassed in a
very persistent way by the people who are supposed to make you feel comfortable
about the Bible and religion? Well those people are, previously known as Russellites
, but now known as The Jehovah s Witness church. Many of them have a rough
reputation of being pushy and annoying to many. They are a sect that originated out
of Pennsylvania in the 1870s as a Bible class led by Charles Taze Russell (Slick).
Russell had a difficult time dealing with the doctrine of eternal hell fire, and in his
studies he began to deny punishment for eternity, and the Trinity, the Deity of Christ,
and the Holy Spirit. He believed that the only way to interpret the Bible was through
himself, that being very dangerous because he controlled a lot of what went into the
local magazines and newspapers (Slick).
To support their doctrines, the Society has their own translation that fits their
church that they public announce as correct. Not only do they go door to door to
preach their beliefs and persuade others but also they have re translated the Bible
into what they like to call the New World Translation. Their translation of the Bible
is bias to other editions of the Holy Bible, but contradicts bits and pieces of their
doctrines. The Watchtower Bible/magazine and the Tract Society was founded in
1886 and became the body to get the Millennial Dawn

Why Rats Carry Well s Disease
Rats are horrendous rodents that infest even some of the cleanest of homes. Rat
infestations have been occurring in many areas of the world. The rodents are
multiplying and taking over entire regions. These rats are leaving house residents
concerned with no way to stop them. Infestations are overwhelming humans, taking
over their homes, because they are driven out of large cities limits due to weather.
What are rat infestations? Rat infestations are invasions of rats in a certain area, most
frequently homes. The most common reason rats invade homes is because of harsh
weather conditions, forcing them out of cities. Davison asserts, Around 60 percent of

Abortion Is Abortion
ABORTION: LIFE OR DEATH
Abortion is one of the most controversial subjects that has been continually argued
over for many years all over the world that poses the questions death or life. Abortion
discusses one s interaction where ethics, emotions, medical, and law come into place.
According to the Webster Dictionary abortion is the loss of the fetus or unborn child
before it can live outside the womb. The killing a human life is a contradiction to
the norms of society, from a biblical point of view, one will believe that abortion is
wrong because it is a sin that is stated in Exodus 20:13, the sixth commandment of
the law of God Thou shall not kill , and such an act should be outright illegal.
Although abortion may seem to be the only correct solution for an unwanted
pregnancy, it is cruel, unethical, and presents a double standard for society; therefore,
it should be considered illegal except under some special cases and medical
circumstances that indicate a danger to the mother and child.
According to W. L. Saunders, Every human being begins as a single cell zygote,
grows through the embryonic stage then the fetal stage, is born and develops through
infancy, through childhood, and through adulthood, until death. Each human being is
genetically the same human being at every stage, despite changes in his or her
appearance. The bible states in Jeremiah 1:5 before I formed thee in the belly I knew
thee,.... Not merely by God s omniscience, therefore, he knows all human

1.In your opinion, what are three main topics of chapter one? How do you know if
you have a good foundation?
In my view the three main topics of chapter one are How do you build a Foundation
for execution, How does a Foundation for execution create Business value and Do
you have a good foundation for execution.
Foundation of Execution basically implies the mechanization of routine business
tasks. Doing this permits individuals to focus on enhancing the business as opposed
to simply absolutely running it. According to Ross, Weill, and Robertson, the three
keys to building a strong foundation are Operating model, Enterprise architecture and
IT engagement model. I can say that a company has a good foundation if it
experiences higher profitability, faster time to market, and lower IT costs. In any
case, those aren t the main reasons you would need to construct an strong foundation
for execution. Moreover, developing complexity in an company s system can make
inflexibility in the systems, and excessive costs, without included quality. Likewise,
business agility relies on upon an strong foundation for execution. More agile

A operating model is the operational design that makes it conceivable to convey the
business methodology. Operational design takes after technique, however the
relationship additionally lives up to expectations the other path around, which
implies that thoughts for operating model enhancements can prompt changes in
business strategy. Operating models usually exist which work with differing
degrees of success. The aim is to amend and align existing models to the critical
success factors and in simplest form, a Operating Model defines how the critical
work of a company is carried

Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) is an information infrastructure providing access

policies, regulations and coordination mechanisms (Groot R, 1997). The methods
for creating SDI undergone radical changes in the recent years like the shift from
the product led model or data producer led model to process led model or data user

lack of standards to handle linked geospatial data, etc. The goal of this essay is to

The Epidemic Of Influenza Vaccine
Each year, there is an estimated 36,000 deaths associated with influenza, about 1,250
from the United States. Influenza (also known as the flu) is a highly contagious
respiratory illness that attacks the upper respiratory tract. In some cases, it can cause
a mild to severe illness, but in other in others it can lead to death. Many try to
eliminate getting the flu at all by getting an influenzavaccine. The influenza vaccine
has produced controversy all over the United States, as some say it is highly
dangerous, while most medical professionals strongly advise it. Although it may be
the greatest chance of not catching influenza, it can come with serious
complications and side effects that can damage or even kill a person. The current
debate on the topic questions whether the vaccine is safe, if it s necessary, and if it
actually works. Influenza usually spreads around the United States every winter,
usually between October and May. It is characterized by a sudden onset of a high
fever, headache, cough, sore throat, muscle or body aches, runny or stuffy nose, and
fatigue. Most people recover within one to two weeks without requiring any medical
treatment. Unlike a cold, the flu comes on more suddenly and usually lasts longer.
Most people can get sick with influenza several times during their lives. Flu viruses
are always changing and mutating. After about two weeks, the flu vaccine itself
causes antibodies to develop in the body. Those antibodies provide protection against

the accident, however, he still had a large support system. This support came from
both Marius s older sister and brother who were not home at the time of the
accident. Also, the interns at the hospital provided a large amount of help to Marius
as did the interns parents and other family members. Shriners Hospital for Children

Derivatives have become popular in response to the increasing volatility and
complexity of financial markets. A diverse range of new financial products have been
created to enable market participants to handle the risks arising from trade in
securities and to speculate on future expected movements in securities prices, without
direct trade in the assets themselves. Derivative contract creates a promise to deliver

because the future price paid at which the index is sold will be less than price paid

toys on lying on the floor carelessly it is more likely that a child could trip over it
or put it in their mouth and injury themselves with it. Cleaning products: Cleaning
product should be kept far away from a nursery area and should be kept in an area
that children cannot reach and locked up because if this hazard is seen by a child in

effect, if you tell someone that a magic pill will cure their back pain their mind will
start to make them think that the pill is actually curing them because they believed

something over someone enough times they will start to believe it. Whether or not it

the children that they were stupid, and treated them as if they were, although the
children could have disagreed; after hearing that over and over aging they probably
Advantages And Disadvantages Of Elasticity Of Demand
Question 1
NO.THEORIES/CONCEPTEXPLANATION
1Elasticity of demandElasticity of demand is a measure of the response of quantity
demanded to a change in any economic variables. Tourist and locals are less
sensitive to the changes in price at Central Market due to the price of substitute
goods. Hence, the demand is said to be fairly inelastic.
2Total Variable Cost
Total variable cost is the overall expense related with producing
or providing a service changes in direct proportion to the quantity provided. For
instance, although the Central Market building is a fixed cost, maintenance for the
building such as cleaning requires labourers which add to the costs. These additional
costs are referred to as total variable costs.
3Internal Economies of ScaleWhen a firm expands its scale of production, the
economies, which accrue to this firm, are known as internal economies. Marketing,
an internal economy in Central Market, is achieved by buying raw materials and
also selling final goods. Since it purchases the items from the small industries in bulk,
Central Market can bargain on favourable terms to reduce its expenses.

As stated on nasa.gov, Hubble has made more than 1.2 million observations since it s
missions began in 1990. Hubble has also expanded astronomers knowledge about the
universe and space as a whole. The most famous observation made by this telescope
was that of galaxies beyond our own, Milky Way, and discovering that the universe is
much larger than further predicted. Before this telescope, ground based telescopes
could only see into our galaxy and could not reach any further. Therefore, it was
thought that the Milky Way was the only galaxy included in space and the
universe. Due to the fact, Hubble s telescope, expands and allows for the study
across a wider light spectrum, astronomers can see beyond further predicted.
Another famous observation, studied by astronomers was that of the study of
uncharted territories of the cosmos. As proposed on hubblesite.org, It became
increasingly clear to astronomers that Earth s atmosphere distorted starlight, which
made it difficult to obtain razor sharp views of celestial objects. The idea of
placing a telescope in space, above Earth s turbulent air, had been kicked around for
several years. But scientists pondered how to transport a telescope into space. That
was until, Hubble s creation that displayed imagery of the cosmos. Once again it had
accomplished a feat that had troubled ground based telescopes. In

DDPIA is a integral part of that process that involves the gathering and analysis of
timely and accurate criminal intelligence information, crime statistics and other data
such as emergency incident and management information, traffic data, and individual

is crucial to COMPSTAT to enable analysts to structure information in ways that can
assist managerial decision making processes. Through the compilation of a wide
range of data sources it is possible to search for and determine larger patterns and
trends, which in turn allows commanders to make strategic decisions about resources,
manpower, operations, plain clothes operations and beat policing activities.
What changes in strategy have taken place as a result of the implementation process?
The COMPSTAT process has not changed the fundamental approach to policing at
the grass roots level. Traditional law enforcement tactics, which have long been a
staple in police activities across the board, still remain the preferred method for
dealing with crime on the street. However, it is important to note that the DDPIA

Economic Benefits Of Hostinging The Olympic Games
There is also question as to how much benefit is actually derived from hosting the
Olympics. According to a study conducted by Chengli Tien of National Taiwan
Normal University, Huai Chun Lo of Yuan Ze University, and Hsiou Wei Lin of
National Taiwan University, the economic impact of hosting the Olympic Games is
only on a short term basis. The study concludes that GDP only rises by an average
around 2% in the years leading up to the Olympics, with very minimal effect during
or after the Olympics. The unemployment of host cities decreases by a meager 0.3%
annually. David Forrest, an economist and professor at the University of Liverpool,
has spoken against hosting the Olympics, saying There is an absolute consensus
among sports economists that it is economically damaging to host the Games, unless
one puts a very high value on the local population enjoying the party. The only
publications attributing benefits to hosting are by consultancies paid by politicians to
validate their vanity projects.

Capernaum
Capernaum was constructed along the edge of the Sea of Galilee, it housed up to
1,500 residents. Its location is 2 1/2 miles from the point where the Jordan River
enters the Sea of Galilee and about 10 miles from present day Tiberias. The crest of
a ridge of hills, just to the west of the ancient town, is the mountain of Capernaum
referred to the Byzantine pilgrim Egeria as Eremos. The ruins are currently owned
by two churches and or synagogues. The New Testament is where Capernaum is
introduced in Matthew. Matthew refers to Capernaum as Jesus own city. Jesus made
Capernaum his home throughout the years of his ministry, Leaving Nazareth he
went and lived in Capernaum (Matt 4:13). Capernaum is one of the three cities
cursed by Jesus for its lack of faith. Jesus was challenged by a demon while teaching
in Capernaum. In Capernaum, Jesus healed the servant of the centurion. In this
synagogue, Jesus gave sermon on the bread of life. From this town he chose his first

Wentdelin s Gym Research Paper
St Wendelin s gym is a place of entertainment and athletics. The gym bring the
whole community together and allows them to forget the troubles of the week.
Students, faculty, and custodians work very hard to take care of the gym. The
floors are alway shining with fresh varnish. The bleachers never have popcorn and
candy wrappers laying all over them. It is almost like every game is the first game
of the season. The smells of popcorn and fresh sweat permeate every game. The sound
of the gym, the feet pounding on the floor the roar of the crowd, is the most unique
sound you can hear. Athletics in high school is an outlet for so many students and
adults. Nick Saban, the head coach of the Alabama football team, even realized this.

opposing team off their rhythm. The best noise of the student section is when the
team wins. They scream, shout, and call out to the players congratulating them on a
game well played. You can hear from their voices that they are as satisfied with the
win as the players are. The student section is considered one of the student athlete s

Physics Of Oscillations In Physics
This report investigates resonance phenomena of driven damped simple harmonic
oscillations by measuring accelerations and frequencies of an oscillator. Since it
turned out that oscillations with low damping have smaller errors than those with
high damping, small damping cases are employed to examine the resonance
phenomena. Based on the Newton s 2nd Law cite{book}, the motion of oscillations
can be modeled by the following differential equation and its solution.
begin{equation} label{eq1}
ddot x+2gamma dot x+omega_{0}^{2} x=left(frac{F_{0}}{m}right)e^{iomega

In total, 16 experimental data points have been taken after settling to each steady
state for various driven frequencies. The voltage data obtained in Lab View is then
converted to the acceleration data by multiplying its amplitudes by the slope of the
two calibration points. Here, the voltage data is calibrated with gravity only and
with no acceleration. The slope is called calibration factor. Errors for accelerations
are the calibration factor times the error of the cursor measurements of Lab View,
and that is the minimum difference Lab View can measure. Errors for the phase
shifts are obtained by equation ref{eq5} where (Delta fВҐ) is an error for the
driven frequency derived from the variation in frequency displayed on the
oscilloscope cite{oscilloscope}, (t) is a time shift between the peak of the
acceleration of the oscillator and the driven force, (Delta t) is an error for the time
derived from the grid square size in the Lab View waveform graph.

Delta phi = phi sqrt{(frac{Delta f}{f})^{2}+(frac{Delta t}{t})^{2}}

At the beginning of the experiment, the natural frequency of the oscillator with
neither the eddy currents nor driving force is observed as (omega_{0} = 75.7 pm

The result of the experiment is summarized in Figure ~ref{fg:A} and

Gender and Power in Perpetua s Passion
Perpetua s Passion is one of the only few records of the life of a female martyr
Vibia Perpetua. This record is very special because it contains Perpetua s own
narrative of her last days before her execution, along with an editor s comments.
Most of Perpetua s narrative is about her experience after the capture, and her
dreams, or visions, or the revelations of the divine to Perpetua. In this paper, I will
discuss the presentation the symbols in her dreams, in order to exam the power
balance of female and male presented in her voice, and reveal the struggle of
Perpetua s voice under the editor s manipulation. Perpetua s background already
highlights her significance in the Christian community and even among the
Christian women. Since we now have her own narrative of her days in the prison,
we as readers can conclude that she was very likely to be literate and maybe well
educated. According to W.V. Harris, Perpetua knew Latin, and maybe Greek also.
Brent D. Shaw says in his article that Vibia Perpetua s family name indicates that this
was a locally prestigious family that had obtained their Roman citizenship for
generations. The high social status of Perpetua is an advocating point in reinforcing
the unconditioned devotion to God among Christians, especially among Christian
women. As a woman with Perpetua s significant background, Perpetua became more
powerful in delivering the message of her dramatic life experience and her faith.

Ghost Story of Santa Fe Ghost Trail Essay
Santa Fe Ghost Trail
As I sat down with the narrator in his dorm on a Sunday afternoon not the most
appropriate time for ghost stories he told me this well known ghost story from New
Mexico. The storyteller is an 18 year old male freshman majoring in international
relations who is from Bethesda, Maryland. He is biracial with an American father
and a Taiwanese mother. Born in California and raised in Colorado, the storyteller is
a converted Christian. The teller was in the Boy Scouts, which is where this story
comes from:
There s this really small highway town in New Mexico called Cimarron, and it s
small now but in the late 19th century it was a bustling crossroads for all sorts of
people gold speculators, ranchers, oilmen, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Fortunately I didn t, but this did happen to me: as I was closing my eyes, I started
hearing these really weird popping sounds. Like, click click click. Over and over
again and they actually got louder! Okay, there was nothing nothing in the room
that might have did that. No fan, no heating, no AC, no television, clock, watch,
whatever! It was the most basic hotel room ever. And the clicks sounded as if
something was floating above me! Like circling above me, like a swarm of bees or
something. I was scared sh*tless, but I just tried to go to sleep. And never opened
my eyes until the morning, when the bright sun shone in the room. Going to
breakfast, I saw the bullet holes left in the ceiling by Billy the Kid and other saloon
fighters, and heard the stories told by the kitchen staff about plates and silverware
that would randomly fall to the ground and break, and the flickering lights, and other
freaky things which I forgot.
Even though the storyteller did not personally see the ghost, the story still possess
many of elements that are similar to all ghost stories. First, the ghost story takes place
at a place where the ghost frequently visits. Similar to other tales, rather than running
around aimlessly, ghosts usually haunt one place. This haunting of one particular
location is frequently interpreted as the ghost having unfinished business at the place.
In this case, the ghost is apparently the wife of the hotel s founder, Henri
An Analysis Of Bildungsroman In Speak By Laurie Halse...
The Bildungsroman method is defined as a type of novel concerned with the
education, development, and maturing of a young protagonist. Speak, written by
Laurie Halse Anderson, is a novel in which we observe as Melinda Sordino
progresses through her life in her junior year of high school. However, Melinda
Sordino is a rape victim, and has not come to terms with it. Due to this, we witness
Melinda progress through the stages of Bildungsromanin her freshman year.
Innocence, challenge, and eventual maturity. By looking at Melinda Sordino s
innocence and childish behaviors at the beginning of the novel, her struggles and
challenges, and her eventual maturity towards the end of the novel, it is evident that
Speak is a coming of age novel.
Within Speak, Melinda s innocence is shown in full view within the beginning
chapters of the novel. Firstly, one way her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Andy Evans, goes to the same high school as her, she begins to struggle more with
having a normal day knowing that he is always near. After she skips school, she
notices Andy Evans, Maybe he won t notice me if I stand still. That s how rabbits
survive; they freeze in the presence of predators (Anderson 97). When she notices
Andy, she is left paralyzed in fear. She explains this, by calling Andy a predator,
while she is his prey. It is clear that she sees him as an enemy, and someone you
should run away from. Melinda has to sustain her rapist s endless teasing. When she
is around him, she panics and freezes up; which is a clear sign that she struggles to
be around him. This only makes her life worst, since she goes to the same school as
him, so the chances of her encountering him increase
The Virtue Of Silence Essay
THE VIRTUE OF SILENCE
Of all the virtues that most men and women disregard, it is silence. People go about
in their everyday lives not even noticing the beauty of one s quot;inner silence. quot;
Try an experiment: Close your eyes. Tune out the sounds from everything that s
surrounding you, and focus on what is going on inside you. Take a deep breath and
just listen. How many inner voices did you hear? Most people do not even realize the
amount of noise that is carried around in the human body. As you can see, even in
the remarkably noisy age we live in, the real noise is on the inside. But even these
noises can dissappear if one wishes. All one needs to do is study one of many
religions, such as Buddhism, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One has to be able to drown out all sounds so that there is no sound to be heard. It s
as though it doesn t exist.
The Christian and Jewish methods, however, differ greatly. These two separate
religions believe that to go about reaching a state of perfect silence and meditation,
one must pray to God. Both of these religions teach that if a person wanted to drown
out the rest of the world, including one s own self, that person must pray. A
meditative prayer where people fall into a trance, allowing only thought to occur. No
sound can penetrate their thoughts. Absolute, utter silence.
Christianity, and mainly Monasticism, believe that silence keeps the heart and soul
pure. By not speaking, one may not taint their lips with quot;evil quot;. Hence, in
monasteries, monks take on vows of silence. They believe that with the help of
God they can overcome the urge to speak evil against anyone else, thus keeping
there souls pure. This, however, is much harder than it seems. Jews and Buddhists
do not always need to keep silent. Jews meditate and pray on a weekly basis.
Buddhists, too, don t feel as though they need to take on a full time vow like the
monasteries demand. It is detrimental to a monastic lifestyle that a vow of silence be
kept. Its importance is to help a monk concentrate on his prayers and his love of
God. People who disregard this important rule of monasticism are not tolerated

IAS 18 International Accounting Standard 18 Revenue This version includes
amendments resulting from IFRSs issued up to 31 December 2008. IAS 18
Revenue was issued by the International Accounting Standards Committee in
December 1993. It replaced IAS 18 Revenue Recognition (issued in December
1982). Limited amendments to IAS 18 were made as a consequence of IAS 39 (in
1998), IAS 10 (in 1999) and IAS 41 (in January 2001). In April 2001 the International
Accounting Standards Board resolved that all Standards and Interpretations issued
under previous Constitutions continued to be applicable unless and until they were
amended or withdrawn. Since then IAS 18 and its Appendix have been amended by
the following IFRSs: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Scope 1 This Standard shall be applied in accounting for revenue arising from the
following transactions and events: (a) (b) (c) 2 3 4 the sale of goods; the
rendering of services; and the use by others of entity assets yielding interest,
royalties and dividends. This Standard supersedes IAS 18 Revenue Recognition
approved in 1982. Goods includes goods produced by the entity for the purpose of
sale and goods purchased for resale, such as merchandise purchased by a retailer or
land and other property held for resale. The rendering of services typically involves
the performance by the entity of a contractually agreed task over an agreed period
of time. The services may be rendered within a single period or over more than one
period. Some contracts for the rendering of services are directly related to
construction contracts, for example, those for the services of project managers and
architects. Revenue arising from these contracts is not dealt with in this Standard but
is dealt with in accordance with the requirements for construction contracts as
specified in IAS 11 Construction Contracts. The use by others of entity assets gives
rise to revenue in the form of: (a) (b) (c) interest charges for the use of cash or cash
equivalents or amounts due to the entity; royalties charges for the use of long term
assets of the entity, for example, patents, trademarks, copyrights and computer
software; and dividends distributions
Mens Brains Vs Women s Brain
Mr. Gungor made a point that, men s brains have boxes and no boxes touch and that
men only pull out that box and want to talk about what s only inside that box.
However, women on the other hand, their brain is all wires and one thing is
connected to the other. For example, the job is connected to the house, and the car
and the finance, and those are connected some way to our lives in general, groceries,
emotion, living. Women s brains are a big emotional ball of thought. This paper will
look at the differences in men s brains in relationships, and women s brains in
relationships and how they are similar and different. I feel Mark Gungor made a
pretty valid point, that men only think about one thing at a time and if they are

I ve seen men who will punch walls, lockers, and yell or scream at you if they are
angry or upset. I have seen men who will cry, but that is a rare occasion. Men seem
to be less emotional about things than women, but certain emotions are stronger than
women s emotions. Men sometimes do not want to talk to you if they are upset
about something. They like to keep things to themselves. I think men don t stress as
much as women or maybe not as much over little things. Women normally won t
punch things when they get angry. They just have a tendency to yell at you or bite
your head off. Women will cry more often than men. If you yell at her or she s had a
bad day and you won t listen to her talk she might get upset and cry. Women put more
emotion into things than men do. Women seem to stress more, even over little things
that might not be that important to stress about. Women will come home and if
supper isn t made yet she will stress over supper when there may be something more
important that needs to be worried
The Reading I Chose Is Animal Liberation, By Peter Singer
The reading I chose is Animal Liberation, by Peter Singer. Peter Singer argues against
animals cruelty, discrimination, and animals equal rights. Singer uses philosophy to
teach and educate others on his point of view. Singer points out that animals have
rights too and supports animals just like he does with Black Liberation, Gay
Liberation, and Women Liberation. Singer states, It is a demand for a complete
change in our attitudes to nonhumans. It is a demand that we cease to regard the
exploitation of other species as natural and inevitable, and that, instead, we see it as a
continuing moral outrage. (pg.208) He supports the equal treatment of animals just
like women did in changing societies views of work place and labor. Comparing
Practical Ethics in the book with other stories, Singer tells the lifestyle about values
and learning. To show the attitude and helping people built a communicating
environment. Like the opposite of non humanas Ape uses the signing to

The Gold Rush Of California
Gold is a very precious metal that with in any community is pressed very highly.
To a surprise to several, after the United States won California from Mexico. A land
owner had found several pieces of gold along the river bed of the San Francisco.
Circumstances lead to this land owner not wanting to reveal this information to the
world. Nevertheless, the information was spread so began the Gold Rush in
California. This magnificent event gave light to great change but was it the right
move for progress and growth for the new founded country the United States.
Growth in my eyes is defined as the increase of wealth among all the population that
is living in a general area. Wealth should be defined as in a way where a family can

However the turning point was the way the environment was being effected by the
means of destroying the land to get to the gold dug into the ground. Over all the
gold rush was looked at as a great passage in the right direction for developing a
modern world but it ended up leading us back, words, back into an era where
monarchy rules the world. The daily life of a miner was far from perfect. The way
the papers and other means of propaganda had portrayed getting rich quick, but it
was far from easy. All the equipment that was needed to start out as a miner was for
the most part outrageous. The earning wages from gold was sixteen dollars an
ounce pg.8. Even so, the work was backbreaking. There was swarms of minors
trying to get rich quick. To many miners that traveled to get a piece of the precious
metal they where resorted to taking land from previous land owner just to get
ahead in the Gold Rush. Not to mention that the living conditions where also
outrageous. The rentals of hotels and other business structures, whether of boards
or of canvas, reached even dizzier heights than did commodity prices pg.8. This
spaces where set prices at 3,000 dollars a month or 40,000 dollars for a year, there
was also other prices around the area of San Francisco. And in some cases miners
where resorted to living in a room filled to the brim with other miners. This lead to
very poor conditions for any one to live in. But nothing was better then being rich in
a few months or

Communication Essay

  • 1. Communication Essay Crafting an essay on the broad subject of communication can be both challenging and intricate. The difficulty lies not only in the vastness of the topic but also in the need to strike a balance between theoretical concepts and real-world applications. Communication is a multifaceted phenomenon that encompasses verbal and non-verbal aspects, cultural nuances, technological advancements, interpersonal dynamics, and more. One of the challenges in writing such an essay is navigating through the extensive literature available on communication theories and models. Selecting the most relevant and applicable concepts to discuss requires a deep understanding of the subject matter. Additionally, the dynamic nature of communication, influenced by societal changes and technological progress, adds a layer of complexity. Ensuring the essay remains current and relevant poses another hurdle. Moreover, the essay must address the diverse perspectives and contexts in which communication takes place. Cultural variations, communication barriers, and the impact of different mediums further complicate the task. Striking a balance between academic discourse and practical examples is crucial to make the essay engaging and informative. In the process of crafting a communication essay, the writer is challenged to synthesize information, critically analyze theories, and present coherent arguments. Effective communication in the essay itself becomes a test of the writer's ability to convey complex ideas in a clear and accessible manner. In conclusion, writing an essay on communication demands a comprehensive understanding of the topic, the ability to navigate through diverse theories, and the skill to present a well- structured and engaging narrative. It is a task that requires both academic prowess and practical insight. For those seeking assistance with essays, similar academic tasks, or any writing needs, various services, such as HelpWriting.net, can provide support. • 2. Organisms Response to the Increases in Extreme Weather Events AN ORGANISMS RESPONSE TO THE INCREASES IN EXTREME WEATHER EVENTS The global climate has increased by approximately 0.6В°C over the last 100 years (Walther et al. 2002). This increased rate of changes is largely due to humans: the industrial revolution, the advancement of technology and burning of fossil fuels (Timmermann et al. 1999). This human involvement has gradually changed the natural order of the environment and many of its processes. Some of these environmental conditions are not easily predictable, as these climatic changes are also increasing more extreme weather events such as: droughts in the savannah country, floods in low lying areas and an increase in intensity of cyclonic events (Knutson et al. 2010). Human interactions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, older bacteria lineages indicate slower rates of change and a few genes were seen to be niche specific (Hao and Golding 2006). Similarly various insect groups have many generations over a short period of time and demonstrate high fecundity rates. The overall influence of the changing climate could cause swifter speciation or variation in species richness or a change in the order of trophic levels (Nicolakakis et al. 2003, Petchey et al. 1999). Organisms do not spontaneously evolve to these globally predicted changes rather they respond to their regional or local environment (Hoffman and SgrГі 2011). The idea of behavioural plasticity, which is the evolutionary way to respond to change through behaviours, is the approach organisms use to adapt rapidly to change. A component of this behavioural plasticity is behavioural flexibility, which is the ability of phenotypes to show reversible switching. In this review I will first discuss unpredictability of climates and climatic events in the tropics. I will then explore how behavioural plasticity plays a major role in organisms coping with weather extremes. I will further demonstrate how climate change could alter the way we perceive the once stable tropics, with regards to human involvement in the changing landscape of the tropics. I suggest that behavioural plasticity

It is a class of database management systems that are used for non relational database. Typically NoSQL database does not use two dimensional table to store data. The four generally categories of NoSQL database are key values database, column databases, document databases, and graph databases [2]. NoSQL database is an indispensable part of big data. Most company choose NoSQL database because it yields better performance when compared to relation database. Many relational databases have been existing for more than 20 years, while most NoSQL databases have a history of less than 5 years. Because NoSQL databases are so young, they exposes lots of security issues. Many NoSQL databases are still focusing on adding features and improving performance, while strength security mechanism is still a low priority task. There were already two data breaches happened in companies that are using NoSQL databases (MongoHQ in 2013 and LinkedIn in 2012 [3]). Detailed result NoSQL database characteristics The problem of relational database is that its performance degrade significantly while handling exponential growth of semi structured data or unstructured data [4]. The NoSQL databases possess properties called BASE (Basically available, Soft state, and eventually consistent) that makes it much more scalable than relational databases. As the CAP theorem [5] said, a database system cannot have high consistency, high availability,

This speech is about the value of the graduates liberal arts education. The speech is not typical for what would be expected. The expected speech would be motivational, educational, and thought provoking. When delivering this speech Mr. Wallace says several times that motivating or educating is not the purpose of the speech. I be driving down the street and encounter an insanely slow driver and I then start to get upset and angry. As soon as I do this I tell myself choose to think differently. I enjoy the stories included in the speech and think they accurately describe a situation of annoyance. Although I am not an adult who has to buy groceries for myself, I think of a time where I have faced individuals that seem to just be holding me up. I also love Wallace s use of conversational words and phrases and his emotion evoking

  • 7. Nietzsche Overman Analysis Nietzsche s overman has the right to make promises because he, according to Nietzsche, is the only being who is able to keep those promises. For Nietzsche, an overman has the strength of character: the reliability and regularity to be able to make promises ( Second essay: Guilt , bad conscience and related matters 36). Nietzsche connects the would promise with the word responsibility, and the importance of that in a man who has the ability to make promises. Nietzsche refers to the ability to make promises as the mastering of free will, and he states how could a man who as mastered free will, how could he remain ignorant of his superiority over everybody who does not have the prerogative to promise or answer to himself ( Second essay: Guilt , bad conscience and related matters 37). This gives insight into the overman because if the overman is the only being who has the right to make promises, then they must also be an awareness, a conscience, of self. This ability to make and keep promises is not the only component of the overman s character though. The overman has a character of that is in charge of their own free will, and is free of the burden of bad conscience, and is not slave to ressentiment. The overman is a being of strength and not of weakness; the overman character must be strong as it has to overcome attacks from those who see strength as a negative. This base character is what allows the overman to not fall into the gripe of ressentiment and

  • 9. The Federal Reserve System ( Money ) ^The Federal Reserve System Money, it certainly does make the world go round, and the reason it is able to do so, is because people have trust in this little piece of paper. Around the globe there is no piece of paper that inspires more confidence. Officially, the US Dollar bills are Federal Reserve notes. Every note that is spent or received is part of a complex organization known as the Federal Reserve System. The Federal Reserve System is the integral component that keeps the American banking system afloat. It is, in essence, the governing body of banking and is responsible for many policies, laws, and regulations that have shaped the American banking system into what it is today. This institution has garnered a lot of support, as well as faced a lot of backlash in times of financial turmoil. However, observing the facts and analyzing the history of the Federal Reserve System will show that is has largely been a positive force in America. The Federal Reserve System plays a large role in both the national and world economies and is therefore heavily scrutinized. Under such scrutiny, one can find that a positive and significant relationship exists between the Federal Reserve System and the economy because of the policies the Federal Reserve enacts, the Federal Reserve s regulation of interest rates, and the Federal Reserve s response to crises in direct connection to economic stability. In order to firmly grasp the driving concepts behind the Federal Reserve s policies

  • 11. Democracy and Government Democracy is defined as the belief in freedom and equality between people, or a system of government based on this belief, in which power is either held by elected representatives or directly by the people themselves. So by the very definition, these governments are enlisted to advocate for the interest of its citizens regardless of gender, race or age. All democracies are governmentby a specific document which outline the method in which they are run and what rights they protect. A common facet in all these documents is a clause that states that the government runs solely on the will of the people, wand when will differs, the majority will prevail. However the purpose of democracyis that it allows the ideals of minorities to be expressed. This balanced system allows for all to have a voice. Unfortunately many times Lobbyists and political parties can generalize the will of the people, serving industries more than citizens. However this is often checked up on, and with recent emergence of third parties, the voice of people can be heard. Democracies are set to address the issues which adolescents believe are important, and many have infrastructure to deal with adolescent issues. One of the popular examples of this is the United States We the People online petitions, an interactive way that allows the White House keep a pulse on important issues. Any petition that is signed by more than one hundred thousand people, will be officially and publicly addressed by the

  • 15. Differences Between Nature Vs Nurture Essay Throughout this paper, we will be comparing similarities and differences between our seven members based on the Big Five Inventory test results to our Zodiac sign attributes. Each member of Psychology 101 Group 14 was required to take the OCEAN Big Personality Quiz, and then compare the results to the other members of the team. Then after looking at the results individual members compared their scores to their Zodiac signs to see if they could identify similarities. To begin, while looking at our comparatives scores of the OCEAN Big 5 Personality quizzes, we found that a few group members were similar, although there was many differences in the group too. For example, Gabe and Damon were similar in Openness, with a score of 41 and 35 respectively. On the other hand, Socoro and Vivianna were outliers in the group, with Vivianna having a score of 5, and Socoro with a score of 59. We believe while the scores are closely related, our reasons for being close together in Openness value more shows the debate between nature vs nurture. Gabe s belief on being in the 35th percentile is how he was raised throughout his family environment similar to Kaitlyn in the 41st percentile, while Damon s belief for being in the 41st percentile was more so being born into the statistic rather than recalling any events that contributed to his score. Rachael scored in the 16th percentile, which indicates a preference of a more regular schedule. She believes that this is because of how she

Going back 20 plus years ago, Herren was a basketball prodigy from Fall River, Mass., who had the weight of the world on his shoulders. He had the attention of the national and local Massachusetts media surrounding his game. Looking back at everything, it seemed like a lot for someone to deal with at such a young age. Although a five star prospect on the court, Herren secretly battled an illness off of it: addiction. This would take him to the lowest of lows and hit him and his family harder than anything imaginable. Now a motivational speaker delivering his message of staying clean, Herren spoke about his heights as a basketball player and struggling with drug dependence while trying to keep his basketball career intact and family together. Damian Strohmeyer /Sports Illustrated /Getty Images In New York, basketball is king. The same can be said for Fall River, Mass. What was life like growing up? It s a tough blue collar, basketball community; basketball is the heartbeat to the city. I was fortunate enough to grow up in a culture where there was a lot of attention and respect for the game of basketball based on tradition. You come from a family of athletes. Your brother and even your grandfather were great athletes. Did you feel any pressure growing up in the shadow of your brother Mike? Of course, there was always pressure. Jonas experience develops a theme over the course The Giver by teaching the reader for every action there is a consequence. Although some readers may believe that for every actions there s not a consequence, Jonas experience shows that once Jonas leaves the community he suffers from starvation and also pain. Pai s Opinions Of Leadership In Whale Rider During the first scene in Whale Rider, the protagonist Pai is born into a tribe that depends on her twin brother on becoming chief, but with his and their mothers death during childbirth, her grandfather Koro wished in his heat that I (Pai) had never been born). Though his opinion of Pai changes as she grows and they become very close. Being the chief of the community, Paka takes tradition and culture very seriously Paka believes that Pai s twin brother was born to be the chief, though the audience finds out that it was Pai s duty to become chief. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Koro s opinion of leadership is out dated and sexist while Pai s opinions are modern and suit the new ways of the world today. Koro believes that leading is a man s job and a woman s duty lies within the house. Pai on the other hand learns that she is just as capable as the other tribe boys and while she is not allowed to attend the school Koro is running to find a new chief, she seeks out the help of Rawiri and excels in the leadership qualities Koro is so desperately trying to find within the boys. Nanny does not show much of an opinion about leadership throughout the movie, though she does have similar ideas to Koro, You might be the boss out there... But I m the boss in this kitchen. While she is not as against a female leader like Koro, she still has an out dated opinion of a woman s duty within the house. Rawiri shows a lot of belief in Pai, especially when he agrees to teach her how to use the Taiaha behind Koro s back. Though this does not fully display his ideas on leadership, it does prove to the audience that he believes in Pai and her ability to lead, therefor showing an understanding of modern ideals about leadership contrary to Paka s judgment. Paka s ideas on leadership barely change throughout the movie until Pai goes to the extreme level of riding the whale out to sea. By doing this she ultimately becomes The Whale Rider , and Koro s traditional view of leadership changes completely. In one of the last scenes, when Pai is lying in the hospital bed with Paka next to her he begins to talk to her, apologising for his ways, Wise leader, forgive me. I am just a fledgling new to flight . By saying this he is implying that he trying to change and accept the modern leadership ideals Pai has brought to the

Mrs. Sparsit is the housekeeper for Mr. Bounderby. Essentially she does all the work that a wife would do except she has a lower status than a wife, but higher than a servant. Here in lies the problem that she cannot deal with. Mrs. Sparsit came from a well to do family, but slipped in the social rankings. To regain her pride, she attempts to sabotage Mr. Bounderby s marriage, but in doing so only makes her a fool. In this passage, a robbery has just occurred and the townspeople are trying to figure out who the perpetrator is. As of right now, they believe it is Stephen Blackpool. Shaken by the events, Mrs. Sparsit stays at Mr. Bounderby s house. The purpose of this passage is to show that it is not Mr. Bounderby who is the fool, but rather Mrs. Sparsit, who does not seem to understand that her actions against Bounderby do not have an impact on him at all. What does Mr. Bounderby care about? Certainly not Mrs. Sparsit. Mr. Bounderby is an egotistical man who only cares about his social status and money. He married Louisa with the goal in mind to make her his trophy wife and to have connections with Mr. Gradgrind it has nothing to do with his emotional connection with Louisa. Thus, Mrs. Sparsit s determination to pity Mr. Bounderby is completely futile. Mrs. Sparsit continues to attempt to please Mr. Bounderby

Also, these same situations are not being thought through enough to the point that someone can be hurt or even killed. In the drama Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, these events happen quite often. This is due to impulsive adolescence. Most People think that the only message that Shakespeare tries to convey is that family should not control their children s hearts. However, Shakespeare has a more prominent underlying message of the dangers of Impulsive Adolescent behavior. Impulsive adolescence is teenagers acting before they think everything through all the way. Some examples of this are the death of Romeo and Juliet, Tybalt and Mercutio s death, and Romeo getting banished from Verona. The first reason why the theme of the drama is impulsive adolescent behavior is that of Romeo and Juliet s death. The reason why Romeo and Juliet s death is apart of Impulsive Adolescent behavior is that Juliet did not think that Romeo was going to think that she was dead. Ever been harassed in a very persistent way by the people who are supposed to make you feel comfortable about the Bible and religion? Well those people are, previously known as Russellites , but now known as The Jehovah s Witness church. Many of them have a rough reputation of being pushy and annoying to many. They are a sect that originated out of Pennsylvania in the 1870s as a Bible class led by Charles Taze Russell (Slick). Russell had a difficult time dealing with the doctrine of eternal hell fire, and in his studies he began to deny punishment for eternity, and the Trinity, the Deity of Christ, and the Holy Spirit. He believed that the only way to interpret the Bible was through himself, that being very dangerous because he controlled a lot of what went into the local magazines and newspapers (Slick). To support their doctrines, the Society has their own translation that fits their church that they public announce as correct. Not only do they go door to door to preach their beliefs and persuade others but also they have re translated the Bible into what they like to call the New World Translation. Their translation of the Bible is bias to other editions of the Holy Bible, but contradicts bits and pieces of their doctrines. Abortion Is Abortion ABORTION: LIFE OR DEATH Abortion is one of the most controversial subjects that has been continually argued over for many years all over the world that poses the questions death or life. Abortion discusses one s interaction where ethics, emotions, medical, and law come into place. According to the Webster Dictionary abortion is the loss of the fetus or unborn child before it can live outside the womb. The killing a human life is a contradiction to the norms of society, from a biblical point of view, one will believe that abortion is wrong because it is a sin that is stated in Exodus 20:13, the sixth commandment of the law of God Thou shall not kill , and such an act should be outright illegal. Although abortion may seem to be the only correct solution for an unwanted pregnancy, it is cruel, unethical, and presents a double standard for society; therefore, it should be considered illegal except under some special cases and medical circumstances that indicate a danger to the mother and child. According to W. L. Saunders, Every human being begins as a single cell zygote, grows through the embryonic stage then the fetal stage, is born and develops through infancy, through childhood, and through adulthood, until death. The most famous observation made by this telescope was that of galaxies beyond our own, Milky Way, and discovering that the universe is much larger than further predicted. Before this telescope, ground based telescopes could only see into our galaxy and could not reach any further. Therefore, it was thought that the Milky Way was the only galaxy included in space and the universe. Due to the fact, Hubble s telescope, expands and allows for the study across a wider light spectrum, astronomers can see beyond further predicted. Another famous observation, studied by astronomers was that of the study of uncharted territories of the cosmos. As proposed on hubblesite.org, It became increasingly clear to astronomers that Earth s atmosphere distorted starlight, which made it difficult to obtain razor sharp views of celestial objects. The idea of placing a telescope in space, above Earth s turbulent air, had been kicked around for several years. But scientists pondered how to transport a telescope into space. That was until, Hubble s creation that displayed imagery of the cosmos. Once again it had accomplished a feat that had troubled ground based telescopes. In

COMPSTAT and the Newark Police Department Essay The COMPSTAT ( Compare Statistics) system was developed by the New York Police Department in 1994 and is credited with having a significant impact on the reduction of major crimes in New York city. COMPSTAT is internationally recognized as having become an extremely successful tool, incorporating accurate crimeintelligence analysis methods and streamlining law enforcementmanagement processes, including the seeding of power to local district commanders. In broad strokes, COMPSTAT can be described as a series of process used for the collection and analysis of criminal intelligence data which in turn assists commanders in developing effective strategies and tactics to combat crime. The effective reduction of crime and quality of life ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... DDPIA is a integral part of that process that involves the gathering and analysis of timely and accurate criminal intelligence information, crime statistics and other data such as emergency incident and management information, traffic data, and individual anecdotal information such as routine police reports. Criminal statistical information is crucial to COMPSTAT to enable analysts to structure information in ways that can assist managerial decision making processes. Through the compilation of a wide range of data sources it is possible to search for and determine larger patterns and trends, which in turn allows commanders to make strategic decisions about resources, manpower, operations, plain clothes operations and beat policing activities. What changes in strategy have taken place as a result of the implementation process? The COMPSTAT process has not changed the fundamental approach to policing at the grass roots level. Traditional law enforcement tactics, which have long been a staple in police activities across the board, still remain the preferred method for dealing with crime on the street. However, it is important to note that the DDPIA process

According to a study conducted by Chengli Tien of National Taiwan Normal University, Huai Chun Lo of Yuan Ze University, and Hsiou Wei Lin of National Taiwan University, the economic impact of hosting the Olympic Games is only on a short term basis. The study concludes that GDP only rises by an average around 2% in the years leading up to the Olympics, with very minimal effect during or after the Olympics. The unemployment of host cities decreases by a meager 0.3% annually. David Forrest, an economist and professor at the University of Liverpool, has spoken against hosting the Olympics, saying There is an absolute consensus among sports economists that it is economically damaging to host the Games, unless one puts a very high value on the local population enjoying the party. The only publications attributing benefits to hosting are by consultancies paid by politicians to validate their vanity projects. I had the chance to talk with a close family friend who lived in Lake Placid growing up and was a resident of the town when they hosted the 1980 Winter Olympics. According to Tom Irvin, he and the rest of Lake Placid were ecstatic about hosting the games. Not only did it bring attention to the small upstate New York town (population of 2,500 in 1980), but many venues were built with the help of financing by the state of New York and the International Olympic Committee. The voltage data obtained in Lab View is then converted to the acceleration data by multiplying its amplitudes by the slope of the two calibration points. Here, the voltage data is calibrated with gravity only and with no acceleration. The slope is called calibration factor. Errors for accelerations are the calibration factor times the error of the cursor measurements of Lab View, and that is the minimum difference Lab View can measure. Errors for the phase shifts are obtained by equation ref{eq5} where (Delta fВҐ) is an error for the driven frequency derived from the variation in frequency displayed on the oscilloscope cite{oscilloscope}, (t) is a time shift between the peak of the acceleration of the oscillator and the driven force, (Delta t) is an error for the time derived from the grid square size in the Lab View waveform graph. begin{equation} label{eq5} Delta phi = phi sqrt{(frac{Delta f}{f})^{2}+(frac{Delta t}{t})^{2}} end{equation} At the beginning of the experiment, the natural frequency of the oscillator with neither the eddy currents nor driving force is observed as (omega_{0} = 75.7 pm 0.1 ) rad/s or equivalently (f_{0} = 12.05 pm 0.01 ) Hz. These two separate religions believe that to go about reaching a state of perfect silence and meditation, one must pray to God. Both of these religions teach that if a person wanted to drown out the rest of the world, including one s own self, that person must pray. A meditative prayer where people fall into a trance, allowing only thought to occur. No sound can penetrate their thoughts. Absolute, utter silence. Christianity, and mainly Monasticism, believe that silence keeps the heart and soul pure. By not speaking, one may not taint their lips with quot;evil quot;. Hence, in monasteries, monks take on vows of silence. They believe that with the help of God they can overcome the urge to speak evil against anyone else, thus keeping there souls pure. This, however, is much harder than it seems. Jews and Buddhists do not always need to keep silent. Jews meditate and pray on a weekly basis. Buddhists, too, don t feel as though they need to take on a full time vow like the monasteries demand. It is detrimental to a monastic lifestyle that a vow of silence be kept. Its importance is to help a monk concentrate on his prayers and his love of God. People who disregard this important rule of monasticism are not tolerated because
