• What we were expecting from this project?
– Learn and use the art of reusing OER
– Learn and apply theories and methods to exploit
how “community of practice” can works for
learning
– Lear and apply how the traditional flow of
teaching / learning could be reversed / flipped
– Learn and apply how to adapt the role of mentors
in the cyber-social age (and

• What we are expecting now?
• This is perhaps different for everyone of us.
• It depends on how much each of us keep on
exploring / struggling with literature,
innovation, technology literacy

Implemenation and Refinements
• How the project implementation up today
changed our expectations, and what is the
rationale for updating our goals?
– we, at Sapienza team (let me speak now also for
Giuseppe, Marco, Stefania; if I am a bad interpreter
they will correct me), we believe that
• We can use the platform in its refined, last version for our
educational activities
• We can convince and gather other professors / mentors /
tutors to operate with CommonSpaces
• We are closer to reach an interesting point of “sustainability”
of our community
• We can reach a ready to market point in one/two years

• How the project implementation up today
changed our expectations, and what is the
rationale for updating our goals?
– what are your convincement about the xCommonS
system?
• Do you think the platform, once it will be refined, could be
useful for some of your educational activities?
• If so, what kind of usage do you plan to do with it?
• Do you also think we are closer to reach a point of
“sustainability” for our community?
• How long we have to work yet to reach a “ready to market”
service, something able to be sustainable?
CommonS:
Tangible goals
• We expect to have a “system”, not only a
platform, made up of ideas, software tools,
models of practices and communities
– We expect to have a refinements of the “system”
– We’d like to reach tangible goals, like being able to
use the CommonS ecosystem in our daily activity
– Like being able to cooperate and federate with
other, bigger, groups and communities that we
discovered through our activity in CommonS
CommonS:
reasonable, sensible, dreams
• We expect to better define the core business of
the “CommonS echo-system”. How?
– We expect to define what makes “us” a team eligible
to sustain xCommonS “system” in the next 3-5 years
– We’d like to reach medium terms goals, like being able
to play as actors in the starting market of
interoperable credits assessments”
– Like being able to sell through CommonSpaces or
beside CommonSpaces and ecosystem, but in a
much larger scale our competencies in a way that the
project could find its sustainability (like we have bee
saying so many times now)

project has been selected and funded with 5M Eu

– Ideas founding the Up2U proposal are mostly the
same that inspired CommonS project proposal
– We feel like we can upscale our goals in a larger
European environments:
– Partners in Up2U are (between others): GEANT, GARR,
CERN, Open University, University of Vigo […]

advance our organization in the direction drafted
by the new project proposal. How?

CommonS: Implemenation and Refinements • How the project implementation up today changed our expectations, and what is the rationale for updating our goals? – we, at Sapienza team (let me speak now also for Giuseppe, Marco, Stefania; if I am a bad interpreter they will correct me), we believe that • We can use the platform in its refined, last version for our educational activities • We can convince and gather other professors / mentors / tutors to operate with CommonSpaces • We are closer to reach an interesting point of “sustainability” of our community • We can reach a ready to market point in one/two years

CommonS: Tangible goals • We expect to have a “system”, not only a platform, made up of ideas, software tools, models of practices and communities – We expect to have a refinements of the “system” – We’d like to reach tangible goals, like being able to use the CommonS ecosystem in our daily activity – Like being able to cooperate and federate with other, bigger, groups and communities that we discovered through our activity in CommonS

How? – We expect to define what makes “us” a team eligible to sustain xCommonS “system” in the next 3-5 years – We’d like to reach medium terms goals, like being able to play as actors in the starting market of interoperable credits assessments” – Like being able to sell through CommonSpaces or beside CommonSpaces and ecosystem, but in a much larger scale our competencies in a way that the project could find its sustainability (like we have bee saying so many times now)
