THE FUTURE OF
COMMUNCATION
TECHNOLOGY.
WHAT TECHNOLOGY WILL LOOK LIKE IN 2028

WHATS THE FUTURE OF COMMUNCATION TECHNOLOGY
??
Think about how far technology has come in the last 2/3 years. It’s developed
more then we could ever imagine. Every year something new comes out
improving what we already had, its almost impossible to stay updated with it.
Every year there is a new Iphone out with more advanced setting and
communication techniques. This is not going to stop any time soon. If
anything it is going to increase at a more rapid rate then it is now. So what we
think communication technology will look like in 10 years, find out in the next
few slides.
HOW WILL WE BE THOUGHT IN SCHOOL ?
If I think back to when I was in high school back home in Ireland
the most advance piece of technology we had in our school was a
screen projector. This is only going back 3 years. I visited my old
high school over the Christmas and every class room now has
apple computer’s and the majority of class are thought using
Ipad’s. if this happened over the last 3 years. Imagine what
classroom will look like in 10 years.
WHAT WILL OUR CLASSROOM LOOK LIKE ?
• Ipad’s
• Projectors
• Less Book’s
• More online schooling
SOCIAL LEARNING THEORY
The social learning theory explains how children that observe models or
something they see, how it is easier for them to pick up and learn from it.
They then find that they imitate these models or behaviors that they have
observed. That’s why I feel that we will see more technology taking over our
classroom in the future because the children are becoming more and more
surrounded by technology at a younger age and I feel this way it will be the
easiest for them to pick up things.
3D PRINTING
More items will move from physical to virtual.
Today, we download e-books and movies, rather
than bound books and DVDs. A technology
called 3D printing will allow us to instantly
manufacture any physical item, from food to
bicycles, using printer technology. things
ranging from toys to cars to living structures are
being printed and because the process is done
by adding layers of materials on top of one
another, they are printed fully assembled and
decorated, too. In the future we will see 3D
printing being used for example if you break a
water faucets in your home, you can then
customize on the 3D printer a new one and print
it. This is why I feel 3D printing will play a big
DRIVERLESS CARS
No matter what we like to believe, humans are no good at
driving. The 1.2m people killed every year on roads worldwide
are proof of that. Unlike us, driverless cars will never drive drunk
and will not be able to speed, take reckless chances or race their
mates away from traffic lights. They will never doze off, lose
concentration or send a text message at the wheel. They will
never get angry, frustrated or competitive. In short, they will be a
lot, lot safer than we are. They will decreased the number of
accidents on our roads and with the rate technology is advancing
I see no reason why driverless cars will be in place in 2028.
USES AND GRATIFICATION THEORY
Uses and gratifications theory is an approach that’s used to
understanding why and how people actively seek out media to
satisfy specific needs. It explains what people do with media
rather than what media does to people. People are constantly
seeking instant gratification with technology and in the next 10
years that need will only grow.
STREAMING NETWORKS
Netflix, Hulu and other streaming networks are a good example
of instant gratification with media. The process of watching a
series or ordering a movie is done within seconds. In 10 years,
streaming services will be even faster at downloading your
favorite movies or TV shows and offer a larger variety.
ONLINE SHOPPING
Amazon and other online shopping destinations is another form
of technology that meets the needs of people almost instantly.
You can buy pretty much anything from Amazon at the click of a
button and the package is at your doorstep 1-2 days later. In 10
years this process is only going to be faster with air delivery.
Amazon is already expanding by transitioning into their own
airline service. Same day delivery will become more common
instead of seen as a luxury.
MEDIA SYSTEM DEPENDENCY
THEORY
• This theory embodies the idea that the more a person relies on
media to meet their needs, the more important the media will
be in their life. As the importance of media grows, the deeper
media will affect the person. We live in a society where media
heavily influences just about every single person. With the ease
of cell phones and computers, anyone can watch what they
want to at the touch of a button, giving media more power to
affect a person’s perception of reality
MEDIA SYSTEM DEPENDENCY THEORY IN
THE FUTURE
• Dependence on media has been steadily increasing the past
few decades. Due to the constant new technologies being
invented, it is likely the trend will continue and people will
grow even more reliant on media.
• If virtual reality technology continues
to develop, we could see a future with
little to no human interaction where
people will communicate through
virtual reality, and have even more
immediate access to media, allowing
it to have an even bigger influence.
