leaders called for all citizens to fight against racism by seeking a double victory a victory for

industry to grow jaded quickly. Italian Neorealism, a film movement at odds with the conventional
cinematic experience, finds it somewhat inappropriate to have idealized heroes achieve happily
ever after lives after so many did not in the grim reality of the war. Vittorio De Sicaand Cesare
Zavattiniwere pioneers of the movement, which (although not the first) is best exemplified by
Umberto D., released in Italy in 1952, and after a slow commercial reception, released abroad
and in the U.S. in 1955. It features an old man and his dog as they struggle to survive in the
tough reality of the Italian postwar city. The film was hailed by critics as a shining example of
the maturity and emotional power of realism. In a world of fabricated Hollywood plots, critics
all over the world in the 1950s relished the uncompromising candor of the neorealist film
Umberto D., while the commercial reception clearly shows that the mass audience preferred the
purified filters of non realist cinema. Cesare Zavattini, the co writer of Umberto D. and many
other films with De Sica, gave an interview in 1952 in which he outlined the theory and essence
of Italian Neorealism. He deplored the practice of inventing banal and contrived plots, calling it
superimposing dead formulas over living social facts (Zavattini). If a story is death to Zavattini,
reality is life. He sees real life as a rich mine of content with no sparkling additives necessary; a
simple everyday action can be dissected and investigated to reveal a greater truth about the reality
of the situation. Poverty is the main subject for neorealist films, and Zavattini justifies this by
saying he features poverty because it is the most important contemporary reality of the people.

arrested and charged with kidnaping, rape, and armed robbery. The police interrogated him for two

Miranda s confession to convict him in court. While in prison Miranda appealed his case and
eventually brought it to the Supreme Court. The court ruled five to four in favor of Miranda. The
Supreme Court was correct in their ruling of Miranda v. Arizona, because the majority opinion
correctly argued the fifth and sixth amendments. The dissenting opinion arguments regarding the
fifth and sixth amendments were incorrect and in other cases involving due process this
amendment was abused. In similar cases the court ruled in favor of the defendant because he was
harmed during the interrogation process. The court argued that the case was not about whether

character that depict a personality disorder and, enduring patterns of experience and behavior
that differ greatly from the norm and the expectations of the individual s social group , is Dr.
Seuss How the Grinch Stole Christmas. The character s behavior that I will be examining is the
Grinch and the personality disorder that he acquires to exhibit is anti social personality disorder.
Anti social personality disorder is one of the four disorders consider appearing dramatic,
emotional, and unpredictable. As a person with anti social personality disorder they tend to not
care about other people s feeling showing little remorse, along with aggressive behaviors.
Generally, individuals start showing signs of this disorder early on in childhood as early as six

lack of feeling for others. Antisocial personality disorderimplies that the person does not conform

When love speaks the voice of all the gods makes heaven drowsy with the harmony, Taming of the
Shrew, Act IV, scene II.
Besides being a well written play, the comedic devices that each act holds is used to help develop
the plot and the comedy effect of The Taming of the Shrew. The devices used has shown the
audience how the shrew could be changed by receiving the same treatment it has been giving.
Shakespeare used comedic devices to help keep the audience focused on the story and keep them
guessing to what Petruchio was going to do to make Katharina tame. The plot becomes developed
when certain events with family drama, quick witted language, and unexpected scenarios that take
place to create plot twists that no one can foreshadow. All of the materials used above shape a story
of how a woman changes dramatically with the help of one man who she undoubted calls her
husband without any choice of decision.
Who doesn t love some family drama in a movie or ever a play, Shakespeare I known to
coordinate some family drama in a majority of his play writes. In the Taming of the Shrew he
used the comedic device of family drama to kick of the plot and give some structure to this story.
At this point Katharina hasn t had the best of luck at finding a suitable man to take her hand in
