- The CO3 project will build an analytical framework for studying the potential benefits and risks of new disruptive technologies and their potential to foster co-creation, co-production and co-management of open public services. The project aims to properly evaluate their social impact, identify emerging best practices, understand how to overcome legal barriers, individuate metrics for a long-term sustainability plan and define appropriate applications.
- The initiative is part of a research strand that the Turin Innovation Ecosystem has been working on over the last four years in other three projects finance by the European commission. The project builds on three previous international research experiences on the topic of public sector innovation in which the Turin’s ecosystem was involved. COCITY- UIA The regeneration of abandoned or underused spaces in different areas of the city will contribute to create new jobs in the social economy sector through the creation of new enterprises emerged along the process of residents participation initiated and facilitated by the city of Turin together with the network of the Houses of the Neighborhoods. The definition and the implementation of several pacts of collaboration will improve the participation of residents in different parts of the city, fostering the commitment of the citizens towards a more inclusive and cohesive city. Leveraging the network of Houses of Neighborhood to redisign with inclusion in mind a number of abandoned spaces. WeGovNOW (aimed at developing a platform or better an online ecosystem to partner with citizens to respond to public challenges. Allowing to identify issues and track them, make proposals, crowdsource knowledge and ideas, vote on them, exchange voolunteering work and opportunities. Created an online ecosystem of that supports co-creating responses to local policy challenges by the public administration including community networking & self-organisation (WeGovNow FirstLife), problem identification & tracking (WeGovNow Improve My City), democratic proposition development & decision making (WeGovNow LiquidFeedback), crowd sourcing of knowledge & ideas (WeGovNow Community Maps), exchange of volunteering opportunity & free items (WeGovNow Offers & Requests) Pilots Turin, London & Sandonà di Piave
- Yes shrinking public budgets are just the tip of the iceberg, a number of studies have been conducted showing a plurality of benefits ranging from: Opening closed processes to broader inputs thus stimulating innovation and cross fertilization, better align services to the plurality of needs present in society, to build trust in institutions and more resilient communities thanks to a higher level of inclusion for marginalized and underpriviledge citizens Briefly discuss the benefits of coproduction: innovation, trust, resilience, social capital, participation, allows to include disadvantaged groups Opens closed processes to broader inputs and stimulates crossfertilization, it helps to better align services to the plurality of needs present in society. It helps build trust in institutions and the resilience of the wider community Better and deeper relationships between PA and citizens but also among citizens. It reinvigorates democracy and civil participation and inclusion of disadvantaged groups.
- The paradigm is that of tech convergence. From digitalization to innovation, From digitalizing existing processes, to establishing a two way communication channel with citizens through social media, now it is time to rethink and redesign also the processes of service delivery and governance Decentralized, transparent and flexible way to manage communities Maybe hint to the convergence theory Decentralized autonomous communities EOS Ecosystem EOSDAC (tools are being built right not and will need to be tested) Time to innovate the process.
- Model of interaction between PA and the citizens supported by disruptive technologies Certify skills, time allocated time banks, pay,
- Athens is a capital city still suffering from the effects of the financial crisis, but reacting with a lively with hundreds of self management initiatives. The pilot will focus on “ad hoc / on demand” delivery of daily hot meals to people in need, within the city districts. Households, Public Administration agencies, local groups of citizens and other solidarity initiative organizations will be called to respond to the challenge of delivering their daily food surplus, to specific individuals, namely residents of the city affected by the socio-economic and/or migration crisis. The map and AR interface will be use to coordinate collection and distribution of meals, the Blockchain to distribute tokens representing rights and rewards and the Liquid Democracy tool to manage the service involving citizens in decisions In Athens: create a system of the many initiatives out of hot meals delivery. To overcome fragmentation unifying this initiatives: maps showing the food is distributed, blockchain to intentivize the production of the service, liquid feedback to discussing the service management
- The proposed articulation/integration of tools: FirstLife geolocated social network where parents, care employees and childcare institutions can find themselves and share informations and knowledge. LiquidFeedback is used for deliberating over activities, fundings and the like. The opinion formation should integrate Hypothes.is in order to create more interesting, informed and in-depth discussions. When closed, the LF discussions can be summarized with Renkan mind map. Results of the LF discussions can be used as an input for ePlanete. Possibility to tag and categorize (places, squares, kindergarten, pre-school, childcare etc) with the Augmented Reality
