 Recommendation is to remain with the current tool in PeopleSoft.
 Development of Training and End User Standards.
 Sub-Committee formed to determine enhancements.
 Recommendations for Faculty, Advisors, Students.
EARLY ALERT (EA) AT HCC – WHERE WE STARTED
TIMELINE FOR IMPLEMENTATION
Eagle Alert is the new name for Houston Community College’s Early Alert
Program which is designed for faculty to identify early in the semester,
students who are having academic or personal difficulty that interferes with
academic success and progression.
Referrals are sent to the advisor or counselor who in collaboration with faculty
and other related stakeholders works to increase the chances of success and
retention of referred students.
The purpose of Eagle Alert is to identify issues that prevent student success
and to connect students to available resources that will enable them to
progress and complete their courses successfully and on time.
 Increase the number of students who successfully complete
12-15 credits in a semester.
 Reduce the number of students who earn grades of D,F, or W.
 Create opportunities for faculty, advisors, counselors to work as a
team to help more students succeed.
 Provide referred students opportunity to Bounce Back and have a
successful semester.

Campaign for Eagle Alert.
 Develop Recognition Awards for high performers (students,
faculty, advisors, counselors, staff).
 Celebrate successes and continuously make improvements
that support increased student completion and success.
