Utilizing Public AND Private Clouds with Bright Cluster ManagerIan Lumb
Slides corresponding to a webinar (http://hubs.ly/y0F-j80) given on March 25, 2015 for Bright Computing.
Key takeaways:
How Bright Cluster Manager allows you to seamlessly make use public clouds like Amazon Web Services (AWS)
How Bright Cluster Manager allows you to rapidly deploy a private cloud based on OpenStack
The recording (http://hubs.ly/y0F-j80) includes live-product demonstrations using Bright Cluster Manager.
I presented "Cloudsim & Green Cloud" in First National Workshop of Cloud Computing at Amirkabir University on 31st October and 1st November, 2012.
Enjoy it!
The Slide Explains the concepts of Cloud Computing. Covers various definitions of Cloud Computing. Its Models, Types, Advantages, Challenges. A must to understand what is Cloud Computing.
Perumal Kuppuudaiyar's (Intel Lab Europe) talk at NC4 2016 was focussed on the implementation of test bed which had integrated with various state of the art software stacks on top of the heterogeneous resources to provide FT/HA clusters, fined grained resource management and containerised workload orchestration for HPC.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

LDRP-ITR BE 7 SEMESTER PRESENTATION 23/11/2012
3. INTRODUCTION
• Overview of Project
• Cloud computing Service
• Virtualization
• Project Flow
LDRP-ITR Integrating E-Learning Environment with cloud computing
4. OVERVIEW OF PROJECT
• Understanding Cloud computing concepts
• Cloud is a concepts rather than technology
• Building a private cloud using open source platform
UEC(Ubuntu Enterprise Cloud )
XCP(Xen Cloud Platform)
• Reduce the investment cost of IT infrastructure
• Provide service rather than purchase of IT resource
• Efficient use of the college servers
• Designing Web services.
• Integration of E-Learning service in cloud environment
LDRP-ITR Integrating E-Learning Environment with cloud computing
9. Current scenario
• Client server technology
• Need to install OS on individual PC
• Cannot compute beyond your processing
power of workstation
• Cannot Store data beyond your hard disk
limit
LDRP-ITR Integrating E-Learning Environment with cloud computing
10. Agenda
• Entities and Modules
• Architecture for cloud setup
• Work Flow
LDRP-ITR Integrating E-Learning Environment with cloud computing
14. Work flow
• Virtualization of the server and setting up
Module 1 private cloud
• Setting up virtual machine and running
Module 2 instances
• Developing Web Service
Module 3
• Integrating the Xapi in web service
Module 4
LDRP-ITR Integrating E-Learning Environment with cloud computing
15. Module-1 (Private Cloud Setup)
• Virtualizing using XEN or KVM hypervisor
• Installing cloud platform such as UEC and XCP
• Connecting the node controller and cloud
controller in the case of the UEC
• Making the resource pool in the xen cloud
platform and forming the ISCSI (Shared Storage
for the Virtual machine and other storage
repositories).
LDRP-ITR Integrating E-Learning Environment with cloud computing
16. Module -2 (VM Creation )
In our case virtual
machine contain
window 7 as
operating system.
We have two
resource pool on
is master and
other is slave.
LDRP-ITR Integrating E-Learning Environment with cloud computing
17. Module 3 (Developing web service )
Secure Login
LDRP-ITR Integrating E-Learning Environment with cloud computing
18. Module 3 (cont..)
Access OS
LDRP-ITR Integrating E-Learning Environment with cloud computing
19. Module-4 (Integration)
•XCP contain Xen
API which can be use
in program to run API
calls
•To develop such a
web service which
can give access to
select VM (virtual
machine) and also
storage repositories .
LDRP-ITR Integrating E-Learning Environment with cloud computing
20. Benefits
• In Case one VM is affected by virus then it
will not prolong in other VMs.
• On verge the of failure, storage of
respective VM will be stored in ISCSI
Storage.
• Migration available for providing non-
interrupting services.
• Scalable.
LDRP-ITR Integrating E-Learning Environment with cloud computing
21. Limitations
• All the workstation must be connected via
network.
• Failure for the web server through which the
service are provided will lead to the interruption
in the service.
• Security of the data is major concern, if you are
putting whole data on the cloud you don’t have
clue where physically it is located in server over
network.
LDRP-ITR Integrating E-Learning Environment with cloud computing
22. Future Enhancements
• Algorithm implementation for efficient use
of servers
• Storage As A service: to provide a simple
storage to student, faculty to store there
work files and programs
• E-Learning Application Integration
