Cloud based HR solutions are inevitable, but what are the things you should be considering. Presence of IT have competed a 'social experiment' using a real cloud based HR product to determine the people related issues and business decisions required before and during an implementation. Integrated Technology Platform Delivers Business Process Improvements
Advanced Feed was developed as part of a diverse farming business growing a wide range of arable crops and operating a seed processing plant. Advanced Feed utilises feed grains produced in the farming business and from other suppliers to produce formulated feed blends with other products for dairy, sheep and deer farmers in the South Island. The main growth area has been in the supply of precision blends to the booming Canterbury dairy industry.

How can a fire chief know what do so with a fire before he has properly assessed it? How did an air traffic controller avoid a near certain collision? How do we just know whether someone likes us or not? What is ‘gut feeling’ & how can it be harnessed?
To what extent should business decisions be informed by ‘instincts’ which may seem irrational or impossible to quantify?
What is insight? How do we know when we have it; how can we get more of it & help others to develop it. How is insight linked to ideation & innovation?
Both intuition and insight are major thinking process and skills with a wide application to learning & development in this the second of our Ready State L&TD Webinars

The BDD Workshop offers a comprehensive, hands-on introduction to behavior driven development via an interactive-demo.
Over the past decade, eXtreme Programming practices like Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) have fundamentally changed software development processes and inherently how engineers work. Practitioners claim that it has helped them significantly improve their collaboration with business, development speed, design & code quality and responsiveness to changing requirements. Software professionals across the board, from Internet startups to medical device companies to space research organizations, today have embraced these practices.
This workshop explores the foundations of TDD & BDD with the help of various patterns, strategies, tools and techniques.

7 Ways To Attract New Customers and Grow Your Business This YearWhen I Work
Facing a brand new year shouldn’t be daunting. You have 12 months ahead of you to attract a whole slew of new customers. New customers, though, aren’t always lining up at your door. How do you get them?
Customers are people, and what do people want? They want things that make their lives less difficult. Sometimes purchasing a product or service adds a level of difficulty to their lives, and they will always choose the path of least resistance.
The goal is always to make it easy for a customer to become a customer. The way to do that is to remove purchasing fears, remove obstacles, and make it easy to be a customer.

There are lots of ways to handle firing someone, but very few of us know which way is the best way. It’s an emotional situation, which not only affects the person being fired but also your business and your entire team. This is why terminating someone makes it extremely difficult to lead with your intellect instead of your emotions.
Fortunately for you, we have personal insights and conducted in-depth research on workplace termination. We’re going to share what we learned and how to fire an employee in the best and most compassionate way possible – in a way that will not make them want to retaliate against you.

The Essential Guide to Finding Temporary JobsWhen I Work
In mid-2013, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that employers where hiring temporary workers at an ever-increasing rate. It is not clear, yet, whether this is a new approach to permanent hiring, or whether those employees will be looking for another job when their temporary stint is up.
Whatever the case, the idea of a temp job is much more common than ever before. For the job hunter, especially one struggling to find long-term employment, it needs to be considered a possibility. The temp-to-hire trend is going strong. While there is no guarantee, at the very least a temp job gives you the chance to gain experience and knowledge from great companies that can only add to your marketability.
It’s a brand new year, and you have a chance to be the fantastic boss you always wanted to be. Your employees are rooting for you! Mainstreaming the Mainframe: Can it be Just Another Platform? WebcastCompuware
Code is code—and COBOL is no exception. The obstacles to mainframe application agility aren’t in the COBOL language. They are in archaic waterfall development processes, an inflexible culture and obsolete tools used to manage applications written in that language.
Compuware is working hard to transform the future of mainframe app dev for our customers. We demonstrate how in our “Mainstreaming the Mainframe: Can it be Just Another Platform?” webcast hosted by IBM Systems Magazine. Compuware Product Managers Jim Liebert and Steven Kansa discuss how Compuware Topaz together with technology integrations with leading vendors like SonarSource are enabling agile delivery of quality COBOL code by mainstream development teams.

XLDB Lightning Talk: Databases for an Engaged World: Requirements and Design...Keshav Murthy
Traditional databases have been designed for system of record and analytics. Modern enterprises have orders of magnitude more interactions than transactions. Couchbase Server is a rethinking of the database for interactions and engagements called, Systems of Engagement. Memory today is much cheaper than disks were when traditional databases were designed back in the 1970's, and networks are much faster and much more reliable than ever before. Application agility is also an extremely important requirement. Today's Couchbase Server is a memory- and network-centric, shared-nothing, auto-partitioned, and distributed NoSQL database system that offers both key-based and secondary index-based data access paths as well as API- and query-based data access capabilities. This lightning talk gives you an overview of requirements posed by next-generation database applications and approach to implementation including “Multi Dimensional Scaling.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:

Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. Climate Impact of Software Testing at Nordic Testing DaysKari Kakkonen
My slides at Nordic Testing Days 6.6.2024
Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.
Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.
