10 bezcennych lekcji dla software developera stającego się szefem firmyWojciech Seliga
[Originally Polish lecture with English slides - with a few exceptions]

My keynote from the UX South Africa 2014 conference in Cape Town, South Africa
It's a look at the state of play including:
- It's still easy to find poor website UX in South Africa
- Informing digital strategy by making and launching things
- Problems that executives of traditionally non-digital companies face as software slowly eats the word - and some solutions: Proactive research, digital product management, agile...
- Some of the skills and talents that unicorn UX designers need to have
In Agile Route we believe that projects are journeys, not destinations. Even very well charted paths can spring surprises when they are actually traversed. Our experience has shown us that adapting is the best way to actually get somewhere, finding shortcuts, preventing blockages and sometimes taking an unexpected detour that leads us into an even better place than the one we envisioned from the beginning.
Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lka7nsDsZk8
There’s real evidence that Agile software engineering projects work better than waterfall. In Silicon Valley, Agile is the de-facto standard for innovating new products. But an Agile project needs good product management and good UX design to succeed. Fitting UX in with product management and Agile can be uncomfortable for UX designers. Once you get it, though, you’ll never want to work any other way. We’ll look at:
- Why Agile works well for innovation and for software delivery
- What product management is and why your software product can’t succeed without it
- The different product phases: Discover, expand and exploit
- The role of UX in each phase
- Setting up hypotheses and metrics to keep Agile teams on track
Ten lessons I painfully learnt while moving from software developer to entrep...Wojciech Seliga
My presentation from InfoShare 2016 conference.
For many years I was a software developer. I would concentrate on the code, software projects and the interactions with my closes team and the users. I was sure that Agile solves all world’s problems. I would laugh over Scott Adam’s Dilbert comics with his Point Hair Boss. Life was simple, life was good. Now for 8+ years I have been running a software company, not a small one anymore. I became myself a full-time boss who only codes sometimes at home or during hackathons.
This session is about sharing with you those critical lessons which I painfully learnt when trying to grow into this new role - transitioning from being a software engineer into being an entrepreneur and top manager. Wheres not all of the lessons may or will (if you dream about your own startup) apply to your case, being aware of them may save you tons of time, energy, money or even help you to avoid the total disaster - burying your own company or dreams. And after all, sharing war stories from the past is fun … when these stories are the past.
Turn to Ernest for a custom consulting engagement, you can count on having a dedicated team of experienced, insightful professionals tackling your most pressing packaging problem, process optimization or custom packaging challenge.

Enterprises are behind many of the systems that run human life on our planet: government, healthcare, finance, big tech, you name it. Can we design them to be more useful for people, and more successful in creating a positive impact?
In this webinar, Milan will introduce you to Enterprise Design, an emerging practice aiming to do just that. It requires going beyond the typical scope of design for better products or services, and instead focusing on the enterprise itself as both the environment to reshape and our material to design with. Milan will take you the core ideas of Enterprise Design: an approach for connecting customer-centred product and service development with the architectural changes required to deliver. Combining ingredients of Architectural and Design Thinking with applied Systems Design, Enterprise Design provides a holistic and systemic approach to help you deal with the challenges of innovation and transformation at enterprise scale.

Cracking the Workplace Discipline Code Main.pptxWorkforce Group
Cultivating and maintaining discipline within teams is a critical differentiator for successful organisations.
Forward-thinking leaders and business managers understand the impact that discipline has on organisational success. A disciplined workforce operates with clarity, focus, and a shared understanding of expectations, ultimately driving better results, optimising productivity, and facilitating seamless collaboration.
Although discipline is not a one-size-fits-all approach, it can help create a work environment that encourages personal growth and accountability rather than solely relying on punitive measures.
In this deck, you will learn the significance of workplace discipline for organisational success. You’ll also learn
• Four (4) workplace discipline methods you should consider
• The best and most practical approach to implementing workplace discipline.
• Three (3) key tips to maintain a disciplined workplace.

Enterprise Excellence is Inclusive Excellence.pdfKaiNexus
Enterprise excellence and inclusive excellence are closely linked, and real-world challenges have shown that both are essential to the success of any organization. To achieve enterprise excellence, organizations must focus on improving their operations and processes while creating an inclusive environment that engages everyone. In this interactive session, the facilitator will highlight commonly established business practices and how they limit our ability to engage everyone every day. More importantly, though, participants will likely gain increased awareness of what we can do differently to maximize enterprise excellence through deliberate inclusion.
What is Enterprise Excellence?
Enterprise Excellence is a holistic approach that's aimed at achieving world-class performance across all aspects of the organization.
What might I learn?
A way to engage all in creating Inclusive Excellence. Lessons from the US military and their parallels to the story of Harry Potter. How belt systems and CI teams can destroy inclusive practices. How leadership language invites people to the party. There are three things leaders can do to engage everyone every day: maximizing psychological safety to create environments where folks learn, contribute, and challenge the status quo.
Who might benefit? Anyone and everyone leading folks from the shop floor to top floor.
