What is Cloud Computing?
 Simply, Cloud computing or “cloud” is just
another word for “the Internet” or “theWeb.”
 Google’s search engine is a good example of
a cloud computing application.
 A much more scalable, cost-effective way to
do something that's not core to a business
but which is critical to their business.
 The browser will be all the desktop software
you need.
 Large enterprises are building their own
private clouds.
 IT departments will shrink as users go directly
to the cloud for IT resources.
 Professional services will be bundled with
commodity cloud services.
Deployment Models:
 Private cloud - the cloud infrastructure is operated solely for an
organization.
 Community cloud - the cloud infrastructure is shared by several
organizations and supports a specific community.
 Public cloud – the cloud infrastructure is made available to the general
public or a large industry group.
 Virtual private cloud - the cloud infrastructure is operated solely for an
organization, and is virtually partitioned, rather than completely
physically separated, from the larger cloud.
 Hybrid cloud -the cloud infrastructure is a composition of two or more
clouds that remain unique entities but are bound together.
