INTRODUCTION
 Cloud computing means instead of all the computer
hardware and software you are using sitting on your
desktop or inside your company network, it provide service
by another company and accessed over the internet. Cloud
computing is a buzzword that means different things to
different people. Cloud computing is a type of internet
based computing that provides share computer
processing resource and data to computer and other
devices
WHAT IS CLOUD COMPUTING ?
 Cloud computing is a
combination of software
and hardware based
computing resource
delivered as a network
service.
BASIC CONCEPTS
There are certain services and models working
behind the scene making the cloud computing
feasible and accessible to end user. The models for
cloud computing :
Deployment Models
Service Models
DEPLOYMENT MODELS
 Deployment models represent the exact category
of cloud enviroment and are mainly distinguised
by the proprietorship, size and access. It tells about
the purpose and the nature of cloud. Cloud can
have four types of access:
 Public Cloud
 Private Cloud
 Hybrid Cloud
 Community Cloud
 PUBLIC CLOUD
The Public Cloud allows system and services
to be easily accessible to the general public.
Public cloud may be less secure because of its
openes
 PRIVATE CLOUD
The Private cloud allows systems and services
to be accessible within an organization. It
offers increased security because of its private
nature
 COMMUNITY CLOUD
The Community Cloud allows system and
services to be accessible by group
organizations
 HYBRID CLOUD
The Hybrid Cloud is a mixture of public and
private cloud. However, the critical activities
are performed using private cloud while the
non-critical activities are performed using
public cloud.
SERVICES MODELS
 Services Models are the refrence models on which
the cloud computing is based. These can be
categorized into three basic services models are
listed below:
1) Infrastructure as a service (Iaas)
2) Platform as a service (Paas)
3) Software as a service (Saas)
INFRASTRUCTURE AS A SERVICE
(Iaas)
 Infrastructure is the delivery of technology as an
demand scalable services
IaaS provides access to fundamental resources
such as physical machines, virtual machines,
virtual storages etc.
 Usually billed based on usage
 Usually multi tenant virtualized enviroment
 Can be coupled with managed services for os and
application support
IaaS Examples
PLATFORM AS A SERVICE
(PaaS)
 PaaS provides the runtime enviroment for
applications, devlopment & deployment tools etc.
PaaS provides all of the facilities required to
support the complete life cycle of building and
delivering web applications and services entrily
from the internet.
Typically applications must be devloped with a
particular platform in mind
PaaS Examples
SOFTWARE AS A SERVICE
(Saas)
 SaaS model allows to use software application as a
service to end users.
SaaS is a software delivery mehology that provides
licensed multi-tenant access to software and its
functions remotly as a web-based service.
SaaS Examples
ADVANTAGE
 Low computer costs
 Improved performance
 Reduced software cost
 Instant software updates
 Improved document format compatibility
 Unlimited storage capacity
 Increased data reliability
 Universal document access
DISADVANTAGE
 Requires a constant internet connection
 Does not work well with low-speed connections
 Features might be limited
 Stored data can be lost
