The climate change refers to changes in modern climate caused primarily by global warming due to increased CO2 in the atmosphere. It affects the poles the most where temperature increases quickly, and mountains where snow and ice are disappearing. If unchecked, climate change will cause sea levels to rise over 10 meters flooding coastal cities, disrupt rainfall patterns, and destroy habitats leading to widespread plant and animal death along with food and resource shortages that put many human lives at risk. The primary cause is pollution that is trapping more heat from the sun near the earth's surface and depleting the ozone layer, in addition to wasteful energy practices.
