This document provides an overview of a documentary being created about World War 1 reenactments that take place in Huntingdon over two days each year. The documentary will include interviews with reenactors from different countries explaining their costumes and equipment, as well as shots of soldiers fighting in the arena and riding horses. The documentary aims to give audiences a sense of what the events and experiences of soldiers in World War 1 would have been like.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

MY DOCUMENTARY WILL BE ABOUT
WORLD WAR 1. THIS IS AN EVENT TAKES
PLACE IN HUNTINGDON AROUND
SEPTEMBER AND ITS USUALLY ON FOR
TWO DAYS. THERE ARE ALWAYS EVENTS
HAPPENING IN THE FIELD, TENTS, ARENA
AND SO ON. IN THIS DOCUMENTARY YOU
GET TO SEE BRITISH, AUSTRIANS, RUSSIANS
AND GERMANS SOLDIERS SHOOTING IN
THE ARENA, SOLDIERS RIDING HORSES
AND LOTS OF INTERVIEWS FROM PEOPLE
IN THE TENTS TO FIND OUT WHAT IT IS
THAT THEY'RE DOING TO TAKE PART IN
THIS EVENT TO RANDOM PEOPLE OF THE
AUDIENCE WHICH CAME TO VISIT THE
MAJOR EVENT.
THE MAN THEME OF THIS DOCUMENTARY
ITS OBVIOUSLY WAR AND HISTORY.
I'M HOPING THE DOCUMENTARY WILL BE
AT LEAST 6 MINUTES LONG.
IT'S COMMON SENSE THAT THE SEPIA
EFFECT GIVES ANY FILM AN OLD FILM
SENSE WHICH IS WHY I ADDED THE EFFECT
ON SOME OF THE SHOTS WHICH I BELIEVE
3. 2
FITTED WITH THE STORYLINE OF THE
DOCUMENTARY. THERE'S AN INTERVIEW
WITH A LADY IN ONE OF THE TENTS
WHICH EXPLAINS WHAT HAPPENS TO THE
SOLDIERS WHEN THEY ARE SERIOUSLY
HURT AND HOW THEY ARE TAKEN CARE
OF.
I THOUGHT THIS WAS A REALLY
INTERESTING AND UNIQUE EVENT TO
FILM AND MAKE INTO A DOCUMENTARY
AS A LOT OF PEOPLE WILL RELATE TO THE
EVENT. QUITE A LOT OF PEOPLE TOOK
PART IN THIS EVENT AND ACTUALLY
DRESSED UP AND WERE HAPPY TO BE
INTERVIEWED FOR THIS DOCUMENTARY
ALONG WITH THE PEOPLE WHO CAME TO
SEE IT AND ENJOYED IT. THERE WERE
PEOPLE FROM A REALLY YOUNG AGE TO
AN OLD AGE WHICH WAS INTERESTING.
THE EVENT ATTRACTS DIFFERENT
AUDIENCES AS THERE ARE GUNS WHICH
WILL BE MORE LIKELY TO ATTRACT MEN,
EITHER OLD OR YOUNG AND THERE WERE
ALSO HORSES WHICH PRETTY MUCH
ATTRACTS KIDS.
4. 3
IF I WAS TO FILM THIS AGAIN I WOULD
MAKE SURE I'D HAVE A MICROPHONE
SHIELD AS I DIDN'T HAVE ONE WHILE WE
WERE OUT FILMING BECAUSE WE FORGOT
AND THE SOND WAS ACTUALLY A HUGE
PROBLEM WHEN IT CAME TO EDITING THE
FILM AS I DIDN'T REALISE HOW WINDY IT
ACTUALLY WAS AND I SHOULD HAVE
REMEMBERED TO BRING IT. I WOULD ALSO
GET SOME MORE CUTAWAYS AND GET
MORE INTERVIEWS AS THE SOUND WENT
DODGY FROM MANY INTERVIEWS AND I
COULD HARDLY USE THEM ALL. ALSO
MAKE SURE THE MICROPHONE IS NOT IN
THE SHOT AS IT MAKES IT LOOK REALLY
UNPROFESSIONAL.
I WOULD HOPE THAT THIS
DOCUMENTARY GETS SHOWN IN
DIFFERENT KIND OF FILM FESTIVALS ALL
AROUND THE WORLD TO HAVE A WIDER
VARIETY OF AUDIENCES.
THE BUDGET WOULD BE MINIMAL AS I
WONT HAVE TO PAY FOR ANYTHING
CONSIDERING I CAN BORROW THE
EQUIPMENT AND THE EVENT WAS FREE

EXT. HUNTINGDON. FIELD. MORNING
THE CAMERA CREW ARRIVES AT THE FIELD
WITH ALL THEIR EQUIPMENT READY TO START
FILMING. THEY GO OVER TO THE BRITISH
SOLDIERS TO ASK THEM SOME QUESTIONS.
RICHARD :
Hey Patrick, so what are you dressed
as?
PATRICK:
Im dressed in a uniform of an
Austrian/Hungarian and this is battle
dress for 1914. Even though its the sky
blue and the red.
RICHARD:
Right, lets have a look at some of
your equipment. So you went into war

THE MANAGE TO FIND A WOMAN IN A COSTUME
PLAYING AN OLD FASHIONED GUITAR.
RICHARD:
Hello, so we've got a woman here, what
are you doing with that?
WOMAN 1:
Hello, yeah women went along to war as
well. I am actually playing this old
thing which is about 20 years old.
THEY CARRY ON WALKING ALONG AND THEY
FIND A MAN WITH AN OLD MUSIC BOX.
RICHARD:
A music box... I haven't seen one of
those in years! would you mind

it plays the music, then we add another
needle to keep it playing.
RICHARD:
How long have you had this music box?
MAN 1:
Oh God... I'd say about... 10 to 20
years.
INT. HUNTINGDON. TENT. MORNING
THEY ARRIVE TO A TENT WHERE THERE'S A
WOMAN INSIDE WILLING TO EXPLAIN TO THEM
WHAT KIND OF TENT IT IS AND WHAT IT WAS
USED FOR.
RICHARD:
Hello, so this is a tent used in the
war right?
WOMAN 2:
Hi, yes it is. It was mainly used for
the men that got hurt during battle and
they needed somewhere to rest and get
some looking after before going back,
so this is where they would come unless

young, so he's not fully trained, which
makes today a big day for him.
RICHARD:
So do you think he's going to be ready
to perform in front of people today?
MAN 2:

Oh I think its going great so far, i
mean i come every year and i enjoy it.
Its nice what they're doing.
RICHARD:
Okay, thank you. Hey what do you think
about today's event?
MAN 3:
Oh well, this is actually the first
time i attend this even as i don't live
in Huntingdon, but my daughter wanted
to come and see the horses and my son
is interested in all these guns and war
sort of stuff so i thought it'd be
interesting to take them to see it.
RICHARD:
And how far did you travel to get to
this Huntingdon event today then?
MAN 3:
Well, we drove here so it only took us
about 30 minutes to 45 minutes as we
live in cambridge, so fortunately the
travel wasn't that long.
RICHARD:
Okay, thank you for your time.

WHAT THEY USED TO COOK DURING WAR. ALL
WE SEE ARE PANS AND RICE.
RICHARD:
Hey, would you mind telling us why
you've got rice?
GIRL 2:
No of course not. We've got rice
because it was something that was easy
to obtain back then and it was also
healthy and easy to cook.
RICHARD:
Not trying to be sexist but were women
more likely to cook back then?
GIRL 2:
(laughs)
Yeah, it was more likely to see a woman
cooking than a man mainly because the
men were in battle so the women stayed
inside looking after the ones that were
hurt or just simply cooking.

EXT. HUNTINGDON. ARENA. AFTERNOON.
WE GO TO THE ARENA TO SEE THE SOLDIERS
ON THEIR HORSES DOING A SHOW SUCH AS
THE SOLDIERS GETTING THEIR SWORDS OUT
AND RIDING THE HORSES PAST THE CABBAGES
WHICH THEY HAVE TO STAB WITH THEIR
SWORD AS THEY GO PAST THEM.
RICHARD:
Hey so what does this consist of?
SOLDIER 1:
Well this is pretty much training for
both the horse and the man riding it.
They have to stab the cabbages and
bring them back and if they do they get
3 points. If they stab it and bring it
half way then that's 2 points but if
they stab it but it falls straight
away then sadly that's only 1 point.

they don't always do what they're
supposed to, but you know, they're
horses they don't act the same way as
humans.
RICHARD:
Do you own any of the horses?
SOLDIER 1:
Actually i don't, no, but i train my
friend's one over there with him and
its tough but its worth it, you know?
To think that pretty much everything
they learn its because of you.

Yeah it must be rewarding. Anyway thank

which is a silverish colour. I pour it
in and wait a few seconds until it
cools down and gets the soldier shape
and i just open it and get the soldier
out. Its really straight forward, it
just takes time to do it and make the
liquid for it.
LOUIS:
Oh right so its not too complicated
then. Do you attend this event every
year?
MAN 5:
I do yeah, when you get to this age
there's no much to do
(laughs)
LOUIS:
