1. INT. HUNTINGDON FIELD - DAY
World War 1 In Huntingdon
Written By
Louis Davis.
TREATMENT
My documentary will be about World War 1. This is an event
takes place in Huntingdon around September and its usually on
for two days. There are always events happening in the field,
tents, arena and so on. In this documentary you get to see
British, Austrians, Russians and Germans soldiers shooting in
the arena, soldiers riding horses and lots of interviews from
people in the tents to find out what it is that they're doing
to take part in this event to random people of the audience
which came to visit the major event.
The man theme of this documentary its obviously War and
History.
I'm hoping the documentary will be at least 6 minutes long.
It's common sense that the sepia effect gives any film an old
film sense which is why I added the effect on some of the
shots which I believe fitted with the storyline of the
documentary. There's an interview with a lady in one of the
tents which explains what happens to the soldiers when they
are seriously hurt and how they are taken care of.
I thought this was a really interesting and unique event to
film and make into a documentary as a lot of people will
2. INT. HUNTINGDON FIELD - DAY
relate to the event. Quite a lot of people took part in this
event and actually dressed up and were happy to be interviewed
for this documentary along with the people who came to see it
and enjoyed it. There were people from a really young age to
an old age which was interesting. The event attracts different
audiences as there are guns which will be more likely to
attract men, either old or young and there were also horses
which pretty much attracts kids.
If I was to film this again I would make sure I'd have a
microphone shield as I didn't have one while we were out
filming because we forgot and the sond was actually a huge
problem when it came to editing the film as I didn't realise
how windy it actually was and I should have remembered to
bring it. I would also get some more cutaways and get more
interviews as the sound went dodgy from many interviews and i
could hardly use them all. Also make sure the microphone is
not in the shot as it makes it look really unprofessional.
I would hope that this documentary gets shown in different
kind of Film Festivals all around the world to have a wider
variety of audiences.
The budget would be minimal as I wont have to pay for anything
considering I can borrow the equipment and the event was free
and no one expected to get paid for appearing on a
documentary.
I'd pay for my own transport there but that's about it.
Logline
They will Remember WW1 and the tributes towards those who lost
their lives.

MID SHOT - HANDHELD
Interview with First aid woman
WOMAN 2
Hi, yes it is. It was mainly used for
the men that got hurt during battle and
they needed somewhere to rest and get
some looking after before going back,
so this is where they would come unless
it was something really serious and
complicated to treat then they would
get sent to the hospital where they
could get some further and more
professional help.

about today's event?
7. INT. HUNTINGDON FIELD - DAY
MAN 3
Oh well, this is actually the first
time I attend this even as I don't
live in Huntingdon, but my daughter
wanted to come and see the horses and
my son is interested in all these guns
and war sort of stuff so I thought
it'd be interesting to take them to see
it.
RICHARD
And how far did you travel to get to
this Huntingdon event today then?
MAN 3
Well, we drove here so it only took us
about 30 minutes to 45 minutes as we
live in cambridge, so fortunately the

We go inside to see the kitchen and what they used to cook
during war.
RICHARD
Hey, would you mind telling us why
you've got rice?
9. INT. HUNTINGDON FIELD - DAY
GIRL 2
No of course not. We've got rice
because it was something that was easy
to obtain back then and it was also
healthy and easy to cook.
MID SHOT - HANDHELD
RICHARD
Not trying to be sexist but were women
more likely to cook back then?
GIRL 2
(laughs)
Yeah, it was more likely to see a woman
cooking than a man mainly because the
men were in battle so the women stayed
inside looking after the ones that were
hurt or just simply cooking.
LONG SHOT - TRIPOD
EXT. HUNTINGDON FIELD - AFTERNOON
Shot of british soldiers this time talking about their
equipment such as their costumes and what they consist of and

MID SHOT -HANDHELD
Interviewing soldier about horse riding.
RICHARD
Hey so what does this consist of?
10. INT. HUNTINGDON FIELD - DAY
MID SHOT - HANDHELD
Soldier talking to Richard about.
SOLDIER 1
Well this is pretty much training for
both the horse and the man riding it.
They have to stab the cabbages and
bring them back and if they do they get
3 points. If they stab it and bring it
half way then that's 2 points but if
they stab it but it falls straight
away then sadly that's only 1 point.
MID SHOT -HANDHELD
Interviewing soldier about horse riding.
RICHARD
So have you attended this event every
year?
MID SHOT - HANDHELD
Soldier talking to Richard about.
SOLDIER 1
Yeah I have for the past 6 years or so.
MID SHOT -HANDHELD
Interviewing soldier about horse riding.
RICHARD

MID SHOT - HANDHELD

SOLDIER 1
(LAUGHS)

they don't always do what they're
supposed to, but you know, they're
horses they don't act the same way as
humans.
11. INT. HUNTINGDON FIELD - DAY
RICHARD
Do you own any of the horses?
MID SHOT - HANDHELD
Soldier talking to Richard about.
SOLDIER 1
Actually I don't, no, but I train my
friend's one over there with him and
its tough but its worth it, you know?
To think that pretty much everything
they learn its because of you.
MID SHOT - HANDHELD
Soldier talking to Richard about.
RICHARD
Yeah it must be rewarding. Anyway thank
you for your time.

shaped soldiers and this hot liquid
which is a silverfish colour. I pour
it in and wait a few seconds until it
cools down and gets the soldier shape
and I just open it and get the soldier
out. Its really straight forward, it
just takes time to do it and make the
