Claude Monet
Biography Claude Monet or Claude-Oscar Monet was born on the 14 th  of November 1840 in Paris. His parents were Louise-Justine Aubree Monet (a singer) and Claude Adolphe Monet (a store owner). In 1845, they moved to Le Havre, where Monet went to a school for the arts. His father wanted him to take over running the grocery store but Monet was interested in  becoming an artist. In 1857, Monet’s mother died. When he was sixteen, he left school and went to live with Marie-Jeanne Lecadre, his spinster aunt. In 1861, he joined the First Regiment of African Light Cavalry but only served two of his seven year term because he contracted typhoid and his aunt intervened to get him out, on the condition that he completed an art course at university. It was during this time after the army that Monet met Renoir, Bazille and Sisley.
Reason why we choose Monet The reason why we choose Claude Monet is that we really like his paintings because they are really beautiful and when we look at his paintings they give us an idea to make another art works.
Description of his work Hs paintings were sketch works. The normally painting technique to make an Impressionism is broken color, which is supposed to achieve the real sensation of light itself in a painting. Monet worked normally in oil paint, but he also used pastels and carried a sketchbook. He used quite a limited range of colors in his paintings, banishing browns and earth colors from his palette.

Interesting information Monet was one of the artists who created a style of painting called Impressionism. Most of Monet’s work were about nature, boats, oceans, lakes, and ponds. Monet spent his time drawing ridiculous pictures of his teachers and his friends when he was seen as a rebel at his school. Monet was interested in how things look when the sunshine was on that things. Monet died of lung cancer at the age of 86 in 1926.
