This document provides suggestions for effectively teaching a class in three phases: introduction, body, and closing. In the introduction, the instructor should communicate learning objectives and explain technical terms. During the body, the instructor should keep some flexibility for student questions and use examples to emphasize key ideas. The instructor should monitor student understanding through questions. To close, the instructor should recap the material, preview the next class, ask students to summarize key points, take questions, and provide a brainstorming activity for the next session.
