Class management refers to
     the procedures and
  routines that are used to
 keep the daily business of
   the class room running
          smoothly.
          smoothly
   List some do’s and don'ts and
    suggest penalties for don'ts.
Class Management
   Well prepared lesson planning.
   Effective discipline
   Motivation for students
   Creative and innovative in daily
    lessons.
   A conducive learning environment.
   Gain control.
   Engage students effectively.
   How to create a good atmosphere
    in the classroom?
Primary purpose is to create:
 Positive classroom environment.

 Gain control of the classroom .

 Engage students effectively.
   Teacher student relationship/
    Communication and interaction.
   Expectations and attitudes.
   Seating arrangement.
   Effective lesson delivery.
                     delivery
   List down problems that are
    most serious for teachers.
   Talk directly to the students
    rather than about them.

   Speaking courteously creates
    positive role models.

   Make eye contact to be aware of
    nonverbal message.

   Suggest strong leadership by
    using body carriage, facial
    expression, and gestures
    effectively.
   Involve students in evaluating your
    instructions as well as their own
    responses.

   Hand out an outline or study guide
    to help students organize their
    thoughts and focus their attention.

   Ask the questions and give ample
    wait before calling the students.

   Vary style and content of
    instruction.
   Relate material to students lives
    whenever possible.

   Be alive and animated to create
    anticipation and motivation in
    students.

   Engage student learning through
    cooperative/competitive teams
    group discussions debate and role
    playing.
   Make sure you mean it!

   Do not present command as a
    question or favor.

   Use a quite voice, do not yell.

   Do not nag.

   Do not give too many commands
    at once.
   Make sure student is paying attention
    to you.

   Describe the behavior you want.

   Make more start requests than stop
    requests.
   How to respond to a
    student misbehavior?
   Always treat youngsters with respect and preserve
    their dignity.

   Always do what is the students best interests.

   Seek the solution not blame.

   Model tolerant, patient, dignified and respectful
    behavior.


     Connect with what your student is and build strong
    personal bonds with them.
   Instill hope or success.

   Never do anything disrespectful, illegal,
    immoral, ineffective, bad for health/safety, or
    you wouldn’t want done to you.

   Never give up on a student. Be perturbed
    with the behavior , but keep believing in the
    ability to change for the better.

   Catch kids being good a lot!.

  • 10. Talk directly to the students rather than about them.  Speaking courteously creates positive role models.  Make eye contact to be aware of nonverbal message.  Suggest strong leadership by using body carriage, facial expression, and gestures effectively.
  • 11. Involve students in evaluating your instructions as well as their own responses.  Hand out an outline or study guide to help students organize their thoughts and focus their attention.  Ask the questions and give ample wait before calling the students.  Vary style and content of instruction.
  • 12. Relate material to students lives whenever possible.  Be alive and animated to create anticipation and motivation in students.  Engage student learning through cooperative/competitive teams group discussions debate and role playing.
  • 13. Make sure you mean it!  Do not present command as a question or favor.  Use a quite voice, do not yell.  Do not nag.  Do not give too many commands at once.
  • 14. Make sure student is paying attention to you.  Describe the behavior you want.  Make more start requests than stop requests.
  • 15. How to respond to a student misbehavior?
  • 16. Always treat youngsters with respect and preserve their dignity.  Always do what is the students best interests.  Seek the solution not blame.  Model tolerant, patient, dignified and respectful behavior. Connect with what your student is and build strong personal bonds with them.
  • 17. Instill hope or success.  Never do anything disrespectful, illegal, immoral, ineffective, bad for health/safety, or you wouldn’t want done to you.  Never give up on a student. Be perturbed with the behavior , but keep believing in the ability to change for the better.  Catch kids being good a lot!.
