Citizenship ‘TEACH’ outreach programme What participants had to say… “ We watched an inspirational class taken by the course leader and saw what can be achieved if we truly believe in and fight for the subject” “ It was tailored to the specific needs of our school and answered many of our questions.” “ Friendly and engaging staff. Good range of activities. Super to see the structure of citizenship across the curriculum.” “ Risk taking and active” “ Well presented, practical and transferable ideas given” “ The teacher conducted an absolutely brilliant lesson. I enjoyed it, and am glad to be heading my career in such a subject.” “ My group got involved with lots of activities that gave us a good insight… and lots of ideas. There was also a chance for questions and reflection at the end of the day that was really helpful”
Citizenship ‘TEACH’ outreach programme ,[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object]
Commentary:  the vast majority of educationalists learn about our pioneering Citizenship work through word of mouth; people speak extremely highly about Deptford Green through their formal and informal networks.
Commentary:  educationalists from subjects or positions other than directly relating to Citizenship received the majority of training.  This highlights how other schools are grasping that Citizenship is  more than  a subject, extending 1) through student voice and leadership to impact upon the culture and ethos of the school, and 2) as a pathway to bring relevance and engagement to learning experiences in any subject.
Commentary:  the quality of Citizenship and student voice/leadership training delivered by Deptford Green is very high.

Citizenship ‘TEACH’ outreach programme What participants had to say… “ We watched an inspirational class taken by the course leader and saw what can be achieved if we truly believe in and fight for the subject” “ It was tailored to the specific needs of our school and answered many of our questions.” “ Friendly and engaging staff. Good range of activities. Super to see the structure of citizenship across the curriculum.” “ Risk taking and active” “ Well presented, practical and transferable ideas given” “ The teacher conducted an absolutely brilliant lesson. I enjoyed it, and am glad to be heading my career in such a subject.” “ My group got involved with lots of activities that gave us a good insight… and lots of ideas. There was also a chance for questions and reflection at the end of the day that was really helpful”

  • 4. Commentary: the vast majority of educationalists learn about our pioneering Citizenship work through word of mouth; people speak extremely highly about Deptford Green through their formal and informal networks.
  • 5. Commentary: educationalists from subjects or positions other than directly relating to Citizenship received the majority of training. This highlights how other schools are grasping that Citizenship is more than a subject, extending 1) through student voice and leadership to impact upon the culture and ethos of the school, and 2) as a pathway to bring relevance and engagement to learning experiences in any subject.
