The circulatory system consists of three main parts: the heart, blood, and blood vessels. The heart pumps blood through the blood vessels to transport oxygen, nutrients, hormones, and waste products between tissues and organs. There are two types of blood - oxygenated and deoxygenated - which are kept separate by the circulatory system. Blood contains plasma, red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. The three main types of blood vessels are arteries, which carry blood away from the heart; veins, which carry blood toward the heart; and capillaries, which connect arteries and veins and allow exchange of materials between blood and tissues.

11. Based on the video, are the main parts of the
Circulatory system? Their functions?
CIRCULATORY
SYSTEM
What does the circulatory system needs
to become healthy?
12. CIRCULATORY
SYSTEM
Also called as cardio vascular system.
is responsible for transporting materials throughout
the entire body.
It transports nutrients, water, and oxygen to your
billions of body cells and carries away wastes such as
carbon dioxide that body cells produce.
13. Which gases are transported to and from the body’s cells by
the blood flowing in the circulatory system?
Oxygen is the gas needed for respiration and is
transported to the body’s cells.
14. The circulatory system carries two
types of blood
Arrangement of the circulatory system means that these
two types of blood do not mix.
15. 3 MAIN PARTS OF Circulatory System
Heart Blood Blood Vessels
17. HEART
-is a hollow , muscular organ made up mainly of involuntary
muscles.
Is about the same size that of your fist.
Lies in chest, slightly left of center.
18. The inside of the heart is divided into two sections so
that the two types of blood (oxygen-rich and oxygenpoor)
are kept apart.
19. Chambers of the heart
Right Atrium
Left Atrium
Right Ventricle Left Ventricle
24. Blood
River of life.
It is a fluid that travels through the heart and the vessels.
COMPONENTS:
*plasma
*Red Blood Cell (RBC)
*White Blood Cell (WBC)
*Platelets
25.
26. PLASMA
Yellowish liquid that is 90% water.
It carries food to cells, and collects
waste products from the cells.
27. Red Blood Cell
Are solid parts of the blood.
Most numerous.
They look like hats with thick brims.
RBC pick up oxygen then get rid of
carbon dioxide in the lungs.
Produced in bone marrow.
RBC contain hemoglobin,
an iron containing protein.
28. White Blood Cells
Are large and colorless cells that fight infection.
Destroys foreign particles such as germs.
Produced in bone marrow.
29. Platelets
Do important task in defending the
body.
A blood clot forms to try to repair
damage to a blood vessel, either
an artery or vein
35. Arteries
are the blood vessels that carry blood away from the heart.
They have thick, flexible walls. When the heart beats, the arteries
bulge.Between the beats, they go back to their normal shape.
Blood Vessels
Aorta -largest artery.
It carry blood that is rich in oxygen and nutrients.
36. Are blood vessels that carry blood back to the heart.
Have thinner walls.
Have one-way valves to keep the blood moving toward the
heart.
Blood Vessels
Veins
37. Are the smallest blood vessels that connect arteries and veins.
Blood Vessels
Capillaries

43. ASSIGNMENT ON SCIENCE
Answer the following questions.
1. How does exercise help keep the circulatory system in
good condition?
2. What is the function of hemoglobin?
3. Why is choosing the right kind of food important to
cardiovascular health?
