Wednesday Assure
Analyze Learners:
My class is a heterogeneous mixture of both male and female fifth grade students. There are 13 girls and
9 boys. 40% of the class is African American and the other 60% are Caucasian. My students have no
learning capabilities or physical/mental impairments at all.
State Objectives:
Students will progress to understand the terms multiplication and division by creating a descriptive
scenario (example) for multiplication and division completely on their own. They will be able to do this
in two days with 90% accuracy.
Select Methods, Media, and Material:
The students will each have the chance to get on the computer and create a Web Quest using
zunal.com. Students are free to look at other Web Quests to get ideas and to see how it is made.
Students will come up with a type of scenario relating back to multiplication and division to go along
with our lesson.
Utilize Media and Materials:
Before the students are sent to the computers, I will give a brief “how to” lesson on what zunal.com is
and what it is meant to do. I will also provide the students with a Web Quest that I have created as a
guideline for them. The students will then create their own Web Quest using a scenario of their own.
Require Learner Participation:
After each student has created his/her own Web Quest, (they can finish at home if did not complete
during class time). They will copy the URL to their Web Quest and post it to the classroom Twitter
account for the rest of the class to access.
Evaluate and Revise:
To evaluate students on this assignment, I will walk around the room asking students what they are
learning about zunal.com and what they like/dislike about the assignment. I will also have students
retweet which WebQuests they liked in the class to know for sure that they looked at other students’
work.
