Shakespeare and Sonnets

Who’s in the class?
 20 High School Freshman
 Three students have mild ADHD.
 Twenty percent are African American
 Eighty percent are white.
Objective
 My High School Freshman will analyze
William Shakespeare’s life and two of his
sonnets by doing a group project,
accessing different aspects of technology
that is presented throughout the week
with 100% accuracy by the end of the
week.
Day 1
 Introduce Shakespeare by watching a
storytelling video and looking at a poster.
Day 2
 Introduce Sonnet number 18 by having
students watch aYouTube video.
 Complete a Web Quest in 5 groups of 4,
which will be their final project.
Day 3
 Students will complete anotherWeb
Quest, but this time on their own which
will be about how to properly write an
essay about a reflection of the week.
 Students will also learn how Pinterest can
be a useful resource to communicate.
Day 4
 Students will listen to a podcast of Sonnet
60.
 As a class we will use Second Life as a
tool to explore the GlobeTheatre where
Shakespeare’s plays were preformed.
Day 5
 Students will use a QR code to submit
their group project.
 They will also present their sonnet to the
class.
 Glogster will be used as a way to
communicate and assess what they have
learned the past week.
