This document provides instructions for using chromakey (green screen) effects in Motion. It describes three main steps: 1) importing footage with a green screen and sizing it, 2) applying a keyer filter to change the green to black, and 3) adding background elements behind the actor such as particle effects, images, or videos. The keyer filter is selected from the filters folder, then dragged onto the video. Background elements are also selected from libraries and dragged into place behind the actor video layer.

1. Chromakey
1. Open up Motion.
2. Insert the footage that you have taken
where you have used green screen.
3. Adjust the size of the video to fit in
motion. ( you do this by clicking the
video)

2. 1. To select the key effect first select
your library.

3. Then the folder that is labeled keying
4. After this select the keyer filter
5. Then drag the filter onto your video
that contains green screen.
6. The green on the screen will change
to black.

3. 1. After the last step its time to
select what you wish to have
behind your actor.
2. You can have any image, video or
effect behind the actor.
3. For the effect I was going for I
decided to use a particle emitter
effect.
4. To do this you select library
5. Then particle emitters
6. Then the folder labeled sci-fi
7. And then the effect you wanna
use, I selected the star travel
effect.
8. After this drag the effect into the
grouping system and have this
effect behind the video of the
actor.
9. Scale the effect to fit and match
the actor.
10. To change to colour of the star
travel effect you simply go onto
particle cell and select colour
range to change to colour.
