13. Mamera a tradional brew from Sorghum
Bulking store at Sub-county. Received a strong
door from NAADS
Loan from Muchahi SACCO for bulking
sorghum (Buying sorghum from other farmers and
reduce the middlemen)
Trained in savings, loan and credit management,
record keeping, development of business plan and
constitution
Integration with Huntex Limited for pasturization
and packaging- prolonging shelf life from three days
to more than 6 months
Mamera drink is a traditional drink which lasts
three days. Huntex Ltd, farmers and Makerere
university tested various ways of prolonging its
shelf life. It is projected that about 5000
farmers can increase their sorghum incomes
by about 80% if this would role out.
