 Oversee and coordinate quarterly external coding audits with contracted vendor and ensures
that internal monitoring of coding quality is ongoing. Utilize information obtained from these
audits and monitoring to develop coding education programs
 Monitor the unbilled report and coding edit work queues, assign appropriate staff
assignments. Work with Compliance and Patient Financials to resolve issues that cannot be
corrected by the coding staff. Work closely with other members of the revenue cycle team to
address identified issues and other payer related issues
 Respond to Medicaid and other payer requests for code or DRG changes, Post pay DRG
reviews assist internal auditor in writing appeals and contacting physicians as
necessary. Ensure that all of these requests and subsequent outcomes are logged
 Monitor and track Quality and Productivity for coding staff to meet key performance
indicators
 Review and approve all time /expense reports for the coding team
 Contribute and participate in high level process improvement task force for charge capture
and Admission orders ( Lean Six Sigma Projects) as subject matter expert
